BBCAN3: Brittnee Blair
« on: March 16, 2015, 11:15:14 PM »

Brittnee Blair
Vivacious and curvaceous, the Calgary native currently works in New York as a plus-size model.

Age: 25
Hometown: Calgary, AB (currently in N.Y.)
Occupation: Plus-size Model
Describe yourself in three words: Funny. Energetic. Goofy.

Do you have a strategy to win Big Brother Canada?
I want to build relationships with people and charm everyoneís pants off. Iíd really like to get one guy to align with me Ė and Iím not saying it has to be a showmance although, hello, I would definitely be into that! Between the two of us, weíd work both sides of the house. Weíd be like Neda (BBCAN2) and Jon (BBCAN2) but without everyone in the house knowing it. And while my guy partner is working the guys, Iíll hold down the fort with the girls. Being a model in New York has prepared me to deal with emotional girls and their BS. Iíve learned how to deal with that: ďWhat honey? She took your lip gloss? Oh, come here sweetie.Ē Yeah, just like that.

If you could take one thing inside the house, what would it be and why?
Iíd bring my phone. Iím always jonesing for social media and texting. This experience will wean me off it though. I guess itíll be nice to cleanse the soul.

Brain vs. Brawn. Which challenges, physical or mental, do you fear most?
Anything to do with math will destroy me. Iím just going to spazz right out. Even though Iíd like to be able to keep my cool, youíll really see me get so overwhelmed.

If you won, how would you spend the $100k?
I would take my family on a vacation. I absolutely love family vacations. Then I would buy a house in Calgary and furnish said house. Then, Iíd donate some of it to an amazing Calgary organization called The Mustard Seed. I used to volunteer there and I love what they do.

Who is your Big Brother Canada idol and why?
It has to be Gary (BBCAN1). I love Gary so much. He stuck true to his guns and heís true to himself. It didnít matter who he irritated. I also really like Emmett (BBCAN1) and not only because heís easy on the eyes. He can wear a cowboy hat! I loves me a big, beefy man in a cowboy hat with a little bit of scruff, a great smile, and a plaid shirtÖ.or no shirt! And Jillian (BBCAN1) was a great player. I just really like her boyfriend.

True North strong and free. What is your favourite thing about Canada?
The people are super nice and so friendly and welcoming. Also, NYC has so many rats! Calgary doesnít! I love Calgary and Canada so much. I mean, Iím learning a lot in NYC, but I love Calgary and the mountains. In New York, everyone knows Iím Canadian and Iím proud of that.

ĎBig Brother Canada 3′ pre-game exclusive: Will Brittnee Blair strike the perfect pose?

Typically, anytime there is any sort of model on ďBig Brother,Ē no matter the country, we groan. Many of them tend to go home very early, and not all of them are known for great personalities. Kenny last season on ďBig Brother CanadaĒ was an exception, and it feels almost like Brittnee Blair could be the same way.

Just for the sake of a reference, Brittnee was the last houseguest we interviewed via phone recently, and it came after what was probably many other interviews for her pre-game, plus the time sitting around in sequester beforehand. While her responses to some of our questions were not the longest in the world, she had a lively energy and seemed to really be embracing the fun of the competition. If she keeps this sort of spirit in the game, it feels like she is going to be a pretty tough contestant to ultimately get rid of.

Tell us about yourself: Your name, where youíre from, your age, and what you do for a living.
My name is Brittnee Blair, I am 25 years old, and I am from Calgary, Alberta. (Note: She also does a lot of work in New York.) I work full time as a plus-size model.

What made you want to try out for Big Brother Canada this year?
Honestly, who wouldnít want to challenge themselves, get into a house, meet some new people, and win $100,000? You can do a lot with $100,000! Itís for the experience and for the 100 Gs, man.

How big of a fan of the show were you before trying out?
I watched ĎBig Brother Canadaí 1 and 2, and Iíve watched a few seasons of the American show. Iím definitely more of a fan of the Canadian.

If you could compare yourself to someone from either BB Canada or BB USA, who would it be?
You know, I donít really think that Iím like any of the other players. I have my own goofy quirks and I canít compare myself to anybody.

Whatís something about you that would surprise people?
If you just looked at me, you would think that Iím a girly-girl, but I really know how to throw down, and Iím into superheroes and ĎLord of the Ringsí and all of that stuff. I think that would surprise people a bit.

Whatís your basic strategy going into the house?
Going into the house, Iím a people person, so I think Iíll really work my social game and charm the pants off them. I want to get a good relationship with everyone in the house, win some competitions, and also bring my A-game.

Is there any one thing you are the most excited to do this season?
I really hope that I get to talk to Marsha! Iím not going to lie; itís kind of random, but I think it would be fun to do some secret missions or something.

What do you think your biggest weakness could be?
My biggest weakness is when Iím Ďhangry.í I get angry when Iím hungry, so when Iím hungry and Iím going to be on slop, just bear with me. (Laughs.) Iíll probably be tired, not really hungry, and not pretty.

What are hoping to get out of the show: Money, fame, love, or just a good time?
Ultimately I want it for the experience. Iíd love to make some lifelong friends. Only a handful of people get to experience this, and I think that will bond us really close. Obviously the money, and if a showmance comes, Iím not opposed to a showmance! If love comes with it, hey!

If there is one message you would pass along to the Canadian public before entering the game, what would it be?
Canada, I love you, and I hope you are excited to go on this journey with me. I hope youíre going to watch me kick some butt in these competitions, and I hope youíre laughing along with me.

Overall impression - Brittnee defied many of our preconceived notions in our interview. She was funny, had a great attitude about the game, and understands more than anything else that making close bonds with people will be important. We didnít get anything out of this that suggests she has any hope at winning, but she also did not strike us as a first boot.
