Is probably just in case this season does well and people want to see more of this format... This season still has the chance to be critically acclaimed, highly watched and overall loved by the people who demands more of TAR.

There is always a chance to bring back the concept of blind dating teams and incorporate it in different ways, maybe two superfans who met each other during the interview process. Who knows... don't take it as a locked concept until we see them race through an airport.

Is it not so that casting for the next season is more or less finalized before the previous season even starts airing.

This means that their reactions to a bad season has to be delayed for one season. So the bind-dateness in season 26 would be something they came up with after the atrocious season 24. And we can hope that season 27 builds on the success of season 25.

I feel like there is a reason why they are doing this? Maybe it worked but I not willing to judge until airing. As long as it's limited to 1 team then I would be ok with it.

Also at the bottom of the page it recommended watching 24 "All Stars"  ??? (:;). Just an FYI if you are applying and have never watch the show before. Don't go 24, go 25

10 teams with a pre-existing relationship (mom & son, friends, married, roommates, etc) + 1 blind team can be nice. More than 1 team... hmm... maybe 2. No more please! hahah

I would prefer two straight girls/boys for the Blind team, or for example, one married boy with a grannie. Can be AMAZING. :funny:
No more blind dates.

This means that they aren't limiting it to dating teams. TAR 27 will probably have only a couple of blind dating teams and the rest are normal TAR teams.
I really don't mind if they have a couple of blind dating teams, as long as we only see one or two per season (aside from TAR 26 which is already confirmed as a dating season).

Just to confirm: this does NOT mean the show has been renewed for season 27.  They need to continue to work on casting for IF the renewal comes from CBS.  The ratings for the premiere were not that encouraging.  CBS usually renews a bunch of shows all at once sometime in the middle of March, so hopefully it will come then.  I just hope they don't have more then one of two blind dating teams if we get another season.  And I suppose hoping for another great original season like 25 is out of the question.

I agree with this.

A thought came into my mind telling me that even though TAR is accepting blind dating teams, there's no confirmation that there will be one in TAR27, right? ???

I just HATE the current (26th) season..... Gonna watch TAR25 with my friends a bit later, but this season is just a trainwreck. I don't like the direction where TAR is going, it's just gotten so cheesy.... No wonder they have lost viewers and the ratings are worse.... :'(
I wish they would focus on going back to TAR's roots for the next season (if the show isn't cancelled....)

The Rabbi, I disagree with the part of your statement about the ratings. Please see the ratings thread where I repeated in a post today what I've said regularly in the recent past. As far as singles are concerned, apparently the producers have been getting single applications even though those were not requested for some time now, and have intermingled those with applications foe Survivor and Big Brother. Since Lynn Spellman oversees casting for all three shows and has been know to divert applicants from one of the shows to either of the other two, I don't put too much into the singles link as a permanent change in TAR casting. As CBS doesn't look at ratings shorter than live plus seven plus alternative platforms and on-demand outlets that occur within 30 days. Those numbers have remained relative static and have not been falling. What has changed is the proportion of viewers who are timeshifting, which grows by leaps and bounds every ratings year.

I'm actually OK with blind date twist. But if they still wanna do it in the normal season, I think 2-3 blind date would be OK. (Esp. Blair & Hayley type please  :funny:)
