Maybe match up all the locations where you saw LIVE Phil doing his standups??

That would seem implausible as it would only be teams who were first that would see him, plus I don't think there was one for Leg 3 either :/

I try my best :P

Thinking maybe something like alternative clues (we had the Gold Bar for Leg 1, Bowler Hat for Leg 2, Medallion in Leg 3) but then it fell down in Leg 4 as there was no alternative clue (unless you want to count the Ford C-Max, but I doubt it)

I still have my theory of clue givers relating to a memory task.

Leg 1 (Blackbeard), Leg 2 (Pearly Royalties), Leg 3 (Puffin), Leg 4 (Ida Davidsen as at least one teammate of each team saw her in the Roadblock.)

How about dog breeds seen this season -- schnauzer in leg 2, the Shetland breed in leg 3 and the Great Danes at the pitstop in leg 4.

I was thinking silver things, seeing as Phil kept going on about a silver anniversary at the start of the race, but then I realised the clue in the treasure on Leg 1 was gold (it still looks silver to me). But the Pearly Kings and Queens on Leg 2, and then the brooch clue for the pit stop on Leg 3. I didn't notice anything on Leg 4 though, so I think I'm probably wrong and that I'm going crazy.

Leg 1 they were given a compass.
Leg 2 was the hat they were given.
Leg 3 was the brooch.

Haven't seen leg 4. But this could be it  :umn:

How is Churchill or the dogs a bird? ???

All I can think of is they are all very distinctive, so maybe it is just match greeter to leg.

Maybe there will be 11 slots for a bird, but they must acknowledge that only 8 or 9 legs featured a bird by leaving them blank/empty idk.

W. Churchill had his parrot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4AKrvwNUX4 and Denmark has the mute swan as its national bird.  What was in the sandwich orders?  Any fowl?   or what would be Sicily?

They could very well have a task where a bird is shown for each previous leg, and the teams have to correctly identify whether that particular species of bird was seen in that leg.

That would be an extra-tough memory task, as they've never done a memory challenge where some leg didn't have X, or the X wasn't the correct one for that leg.

His may be a bit easy but what about the languages

Virgin Islands - English
London - English
Shetlands - English / Scottish Gaelic
Copenhagen / Malmö - Danish / Swedish
Marrakech - French / Spanish / Arabic
Palermo - Italian
Malta - Maltese
Singapore - English / Malay / Mandarin / Tamil
Philippines - English / Filipino

I think the two most likely options are going to be national outlines - there has to be a reason every single location this season except Morocco is an island (even downtown Malmo is built on islands) - or cluegivers/alternative clueboxes.

I realy have no clue as to what the memory task could be, if there even is one :groan:

The obvious way to go is the pit stop greeters (Phil did say he wanted to incorporate the greeters more). Two other options did pop up in my head, but it's always incomplete if you go leg by leg.
1) feathers/birds (the 2 birds at 2 pit stops does suggest it)
2) metallic objects on the race (like the St. Ninians artifact in Leg 3 or the candelabra clue holder in Leg 5)

If there is going to be a memory task, maybe they'll go by it like in season 14, where it's just random things you see during the race.

Anybody else think the man with the board saying, "ONWARD SINGAPORE" was such a random cluegiver...? So could cluegivers legitimately be the FMT?

Leg 1: ??? (I can't remember - was Blackbeard a clue giver)
Leg 2: Pearly Man/Woman
Leg 3: Puffin
Leg 4: ??? (Again, can't remember, possibly Ida Davidsen)
Leg 5: ??? (can't remember)
Leg 6: ??? (never watched the leg)
Leg 7: The racing legend after the RB (?)
Leg 8: The knights
Leg 9: Guy with ONWARD SINGAPORE board

I think we've seen some animals/birds at the pit stop. That could be one challenge where they have to spot the correct 5 out of a total of 100 images idk.

There's also sheep, puffin, ox etc which the teams have seen as well. So it could be a repeat of TAR 3 memory challenge?

Leg 5 could be the giver after the RB. The one from the argue between Shelley & Nici and Keith & Whitney.

It's possible islands could have been the original idea - it's too bizarre not to have been when every location except one was an island - but that it was changed to something like cluegivers if Morocco was an emergency leg or something. With the big jump from Malta to Singapore, it seems possible the original route could have been straight from Copenhagen to Palermo, and then from Malta to... whichever of Bahrain or Qatar is the island, I always get them mixed up... to Singapore.

There was a screen-cap in a shipyard in the finale preview. There were what looked like 3 letters on each shipyard container. My guess is airport codes for each leg/country of the race...  ???

I do miss the old difficult memory tasks (surfboard task in Hawaii, the "get everything on the platform" challenge in Alaska)

That's actually a possible idea! Airport codes MIGHT be a bit confusing, so we'll see...

Thanks!  :waves: I have always lurked and read people's comments but I figure that I'd contribute this time. I wonder what preparation each team has for the memory task, as smart teams would write as much as possible about everything they can remember (airport, locations, food, people, money), while most others just wing it. Tammy and Victor come to mind with their "note-taking"...

Honestly, some of the past memory tasks were terrible, but some were so good.

Airport codes would be pretty tough for most people to remember!

I think Nat & Kat also did note-taking when they won.  Had I been on the season with the final memory task being greetings & farewells, I think I would have done a fine job with it as I knew quite a lot of greetings and farewells in foreign languages (especially the Russian greeting and farewell)!

They did. I remember them consulting the notes at the greeters challenge.

I did too, that's why I said that I thought Nat & Kat took notes as well as Tammy & Victor.

I also think the airport code has some possibility because the "shipyard" location has some kind of "international destinations all over the world meet at this port"... who knows, lol. Sounds very "introduction material" for introducing the task.

One of other memory tasks I liked was the "find the clue" task with like hundreds of clue boxes in Washington state (?). I would have gone crazy!

The .com/1zyv6d.jpg]wide pan of Bethany wandering around the container park shows three identical setups in a row, each with a different colored mat (one yellow, which .com/w7ohl1.jpg]Bethany is presumably working on)

Maybe it is a repeat of the TAR 12 task, except with the added difficulty of having to search through the containers for items? It would certainly explain the multiple bikes, birds, and animal byproducts.

Interesting you should mention the pan shot...you can see 3 cabs and what looks like 3 reach stackers waiting. Coincidence?
Or maybe containers have to be stacked in a particular order.
Also notice the narrow file (single file in spots) near the front, atypical for the rest of the yard.

TAR18 had a challenge like this on the finale. Maybe it's the same one again?

ANY smart racer keeps extensive notes along the way and studies them religiously.

And if there are only three setups at the container yard, our leg 12 Elimination has to be after the Movie Stunt Challenge....and before the containers.

I think Bethany is either very far ahead or far behind. She's wearing a yellow vest and Amy is wearing a blue vest in the finish line pictures. I'm also assuming the color vest correspond to the mats. I can't clearly expand the shipping yard pictures, but the yellow mat is empty and the two on either sides have stuff on it. So if the goal is to locate objects in the shipping containers and place them on the mat, then Bethany is far behind. If they have to place an object into the container, then she is far ahead.

Hm, maybe it's not airport codes. I can't read the shipping container in front of each platform but it looks the same for them all. LAX looks like the first 3 letters...

It would be super difficult to search for containers with a country/leg of the race label/identification in the order of the race. Or maybe they have to have their partner relay the info to an operator who will find/load the containers for them? The single row stack looks like a "display board" of some kind.
