A thread to discuss whether a country/region/city is a viable destination in the short/medium term.

The Philippines has the APEC summit in Manila next week, many flights were cancelled. A visit for TAR28 is unlikely if we have an Asia start unless they simply connect and go to other places in the Philippines.

Korea also contained MERS-COV, so we MIGHT get it this season after 11 seasons (TAR17)? :)

100% No:
Afghanistan
Burundi
Central African Republic
Chad

Iraq
Libya
Mauritania
Niger
Palestinian territories
Sierra Leone
Somalia
Somaliland
South Sudan
Syria

The partially dangerous list is quite interesting. Japan is included in there.

Yes, my friend is going to Israel next week!

And some of the Palestinian Territories are safe like Jerusalem and Qumran (visited in SAus1) even places like Nazareth & Bethlehem are fine!

I wonder how much of a possibility Cuba would be (also visited by Aus), now that it's rolling out the welcome mat to Americans for the first time since the 60's.

Shame to see Tunisia on the dangerous list. It got visited in the very first season.

Fast and the Furious 8 has been filming in Cuba recently, so there is a possibility in the future.

You know, North Korea isn't on that list but I have a sneaking suspicion TAR would be discouraged from visiting there.

From the trip info exclusions list someone posted for TAR 26, (there's a picture of that extended clue somewhere- it was something like a Thailand-Germany leg) Air Koryo/North Korea was indeed a no-go and I suspect for more reasons than not being able to get a transit visa on arrival.

I wouldn't be surprised to see any Israel concerns coming down to someone accidentally getting an Israeli passport stamp, and that can apparently cause problems if you're entering or transiting the UAE. Seems like more seasons than not at least require a connecting flight in Dubai.

Lebanon is probably sadly a no-go since I'm sure some folks in the production office have seen the original 'Bourdain in Beruit' show and understandably don't want to chance a route involving live artillery fire and evacuation by US Marines.

The TAR 26 info was a list of airlines that could not be used, not countries.

How safe would it be to travel to Cuba (anywhere) and/or Jamaica (Ocho Rios/Northern Jamaica)?
