Fans of "Survivor" feel very close to the contestants of the show after getting to know them. On Tuesday, reports started to come out that Caleb Bankston passed away after a railroad accident. So far none of the big media outlets have picked up on this story but it is spreading like wildfire among the "Survivor" fans. Survivor Oz went to his Facebook page to share the news. He simply said, "Unconfirmed reports Caleb Bankston has passed away. Our thoughts are with Colton right now at this difficult time."

The Republic shared a report about an accident that did kill someone. They do not share a name but it is being passed away that this is the cause of Caleb's death. It simply says a man died after an Alabama Warrior Railway in Birmingham accident.

If you don't remember Caleb, he played in "Survivor: Blood vs. Water." He was the loved one of Colton Cumbie. This was his fiance and the two were obviously very close. Watching them play you could see that he was Colton's rock and what kept him strong. These two had plans to get married and this has to be heartbreaking for Colton to go through. Nobody has ever had anything bad to say about Caleb at all.

The contestants from his season of "Survivor" have started to change their profile pictures to a picture of him. Several of them now have pictures of themselves with Caleb up on their page. Ciera changed her Facebook picture two hours ago. Jonathan Penner went to Twitter to try to find out if the news is true. At this time, the answers he has been receiving are just fan asking if it is true or not.

Ragan Fox of "Big Brother" went to Twitter saying that he had never met Caleb but this was really sad news to him. It appears that Caleb Bankston of "Survivor" has passed away from some kind of accident with a train. At this time, there are no confirmed reports out there but the entire reality TV family is discussing this big loss today. There is no information about exactly what happened or when the accident occurred. More information should continue to come out about this story.

Survivor's Caleb Bankston Dead: Blood vs. Water Star Killed in Railway Accident


   
Caleb Bankston, who competed on Survivor: Blood vs. Water, died when the train he was on derailed on Tuesday, PEOPLE has confirmed through multiple sources.

Bankston, 26, worked at the Alabama Warrior Railway in Birmingham. He competed on Survivor: Blood vs. Water in 2013 alongside his fiancé, Colton Cumbie, ending the game in ninth place.

News of the accident has sent shockwaves through the Survivor community.

"Caleb was an amazing man and friend," fellow contestant Aras Baskauskas tells PEOPLE. "One of the sweetest and most sincere humans I've ever come across. I am gutted by his loss. My thoughts and prayers are with his family."

Adds Sabrina Thompson, who competed on Survivor: One World with Cumbie: "While playing Survivor with Colton, he would talk about his boyfriend, Caleb, around the clock 24/7. Within seconds of meeting Caleb at the finale and Survivor events, it's no wonder why he raved about him. You were instantly drawn to his big smile, warm spirit and Southern charm. May God rest his soul … gone too soon."

Bankston is the third Survivor contestant to pass away since the show premiered. In 2010, Jenn Lyon, who placed fourth on Survivor: Palau, died after a six-year battle with breast cancer.

Last year, original Survivor contestant BB Anderson died of brain cancer at age 77.

Wow, this is just awful. :( One of my favorites from his season, but obviously an appearance on Survivor hardly matters at a time like this. Thoughts and prayers for his family, and for Colton, who obviously loved him very much.
