Great job with the maps!  :)
I'm sure you know this already, but Tower Bridge isn't right there, by Parliament.
It is farther east.  They probably didn't go to Tower Bridge even though I think I saw someone mention it.
Thanks!

Tower Bridge was mentioned, but then corrected in the sightings thread as meaning Tower Park where a task took place.

Somehow I kept thinking Westminster Bridge! :groan:

What's the consensus on Tower Bridge; should I keep it or remove it? (Sadly swamped with real life work right now, so I might take a little while to change this!)

I'm pretty sure you should change it right now.  What does real life has to do with it?!?!   ;)
j.k.  I'm sure most people won't even notice.    Have a great day!

Neobie, you spelt Malate wrong. By the way, its Malate. Also, Laguna Lake is known locally as Laguna de Bay. Also, Metro Manila isn't contain the whole section of the said Metropolis including Cavite and other nearby provinces shown on the picture: Laguna (right at the bottom), Rizal (right) and Bulacan (right at the top).

You simply change it to Mega Manila, includes Cavite province.

I hate to be a spelling nerd, but the Finish line was at Point Vicente Lighthouse, not Point Vincente Lighthouse.

It does seem like it should be Vincente but for some reason it's not.

Either one is fine. The government lists it as a variant, and as far back as the red-car days it was listed as "Vincent." A lot of the locals (including me) just say vin-sent-tay.

OK, I'll go along with your local knowledge. Like I said, Vincente sounds better to me anyway.

Leg 5 locations
Detailed maps of the Old City are hard to find, but I'll give it a try
Riad Monceau
Bab Debbagh (several tanneries nearby, can't say which one they used)
Madersa Ben Youssef
Le Paradis du Thee Not sure about this one; the hits I got pointed to El Bahja Souk.
Palais Gharnata
Al Matjar Bazaar
And everybody knows the Cafe Glacier.
Never found the cobbler.

The tannery they used is the big one just south of the gate and alongside the main road.

The first few teams met up at this triangle just north of the Ben Youssef Mosque while searching for the cobbler, but I'm still having trouble figuring out where all the teams ran into each other, which is where the cobbler actually was.

I have a vague sense of where the cobbler might be?

Let's start with the triangle where Brooke and Kym rave about Bethany. There's a small sign at the back where you can sort of make out the words "Esprit du Maroc," a riad just north of the Ben Youssef Mosque. So we can place where they are.

In the same scene, the yellow-shirted gentleman gestures for teams to head west, then to make a left turn. (He mouths the word "left" too!) So we look in that general direction.

Then we try to find the corner where everyone meets up; most teams come in from the bottom-right hand corner of the screen (from the way the bicycles are pointing), while Tim comes in from the top-right hand corner underneath a covered passageway. Google Earth has terrible resolution for Marrakech, but the only place I could find fitting all of the above clues is this corner just west of the mosque. Could this be it?

Edit: Still can't find the tea shop though. The flooring doesn't match El Bahja Souk.

Here's the TAR 25 map collection, including difficult-to-find locations like:
- the Peats of Scalloway;
- the haybales of Arsete Boumankar in Marrakech; and
- the Pit Start in Manila II, which was a good 24km/15mi from the Pit Stop!

(Is there any demand for individual episode jpg maps?)
