In Mauritius leg there was a roadblock that one person had to do kayak I believe but some local people saw them and even filmed it so they didnt show it on the episode. I hope Mauritius can be visited in another season since they already went to an island territory. Ethiopia could be interesting, or even Rwanda

If they go to Africa, I can only see them going to Morocco, Sierra Leone or Liberia. I think they will continue in Europe. I would love them to go to Prague and Budapest, way overdue

Edit: virus going in Liberia, Tar will definitely avoid any countries around it
I guess no Africa this season, unless they go to Ethiopia or Mauritius???

Ya, just had friends come back from medical visit to Liberia, the e-bola is present in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. So doubt there will be any travels to Western Africa.. or I would be very surprised.

They've not been to Africa in quite a while, and to South Africa even longer than that. Zambia is less likely because of the political situation there, but Victoria Falls might be possible if they approach the area the way it was done in season one. This is a god time to go back to that nation since the last World Cup hosted there is 4 years past;and they've gotten over their presidential elections and the immediate post-Mandela period without any problems. (Anthony Boudain filmed an episode of his CNN show there shortly before Mandela's death, and he even discussed that issue with his hosts in Pretoria and Jo-Berg; and if Bert and Elise aren't mining Bordain's brain about places to go to in the countries he been to for that CNN show "Parts Unknown," they should be ....Columbia, Venezuela, Myanmar, Thailand this coming weekend, Peru; it's been an very interesting show about more than just food.)

I don't think we'll get a Thailand visit this season because of the current political climate over there.

SPEC: do teams go back to Heathrow this AM for the next leg?

If so, hope they train it vs drive it...it is cold and rainy so the traffic Oxford>Heathrow would be awful...

Yeeyyy Scotland!!! By three months, the constituent country itself will have its referendum towards on independence to separate from the United Kingdom.

The last visit was three seasons ago in the capital, Edinburgh, with a U-Turn madness.

The Shetland Islands sounds interesting. I hope it's true.

I expect there will be ponies. That may get my wife to watch. :hoot:

How do you know about Shelley & Nici? All photos in sighting thread were taken in leg 2. ???
Maybe scott14 can give us more information with his photos.  :conf:

Don't know about self driving, but horses aren't the only thing at risk when the Race comes through. :)
I'm thinking about the sheep (wool) and the Viking heritage actually. I remember reading something recently that the settlers on the Shetlands aren't too keen on the notion of independence for Scotland and that article made specific reference to the Vikings/Norsemen.
So if leg 3 is the Shetlands, then there's a bit if culture there TPTB can work with for tasks, and it ought to be interesting.

YESSSSSSSSS SELF DRIVING!
TAR22 was great with having many self-driving legs. Hopefully TAR25 will have many as well. As far as self-driving in recent seasons, there was only 1 Leg in TAR23 and 2 Legs in TAR 24 that required teams to drive themselves.

I think it would be cool if teams visited Blackwell's Bookshop while in Oxford.
