So I come home from work and hear the Amazing Race is in my city!  :yess:

Is the leg ongoing? I can try and make it to Christ Church college early tomorrow morning to see when they leave or go now if they're still racing?

So exciting  :)

Thanks Peach, its a pleasure to get to join in on the fun. I was really bummed that the Race started so close to where I live, I've been watching since season 16 so It would have been great to see it. I'm really excited for this though, it looks interesting!    :conf:

So they are punting on the Cherwell river? I remember this challenge from a previous season, am I right? Way back to season 3 as I just checked out on wiki.
I remember the brothers, Ken and Gerard rowing with some difficulty. .. great season, should go back and watch again.

This is going a little far down the road for this race, but what are the odds that this race finishes in Central Park where the first one started? I know the ones that start on the East Coast end on the West Coast generally but I mean last season they started in California and ended in Vegas. It would be like coming full circle!  :conf:

It is - blondes not spotted, appear to be our first boots in the Virgin Islands!  :'(

omg noooo! They one blonde was so fierce.

To be honest, I'm kind of happy to see the blondes team go first after the ones in the last race were for the most part carried to the end.
This.

Also, I believe TAR hasn't visited the Thames River directly before and I believe this iconic river could be due for a feature in a route info or task this season.

TBH, you don't even know if they are going to be good or not. If they end up being a good team, like how the rest of this cast is fab, then it would really suck to see them first. I'm personally sad Matt & Daniel 2.0 didn't get eliminated first.

Oxford is only like tops an hour away from London - Leg 2 has well ended by now

The leg that started with the connecting flights that landed at Heathrow and that ended at Christchurch College, Oxford was leg 2 and it was today.

They were punting down the Cam in the far superior University of Cambridge. :hoot:

From my friends trying to gather information at Oxford, it sounds like the teams may have been spread pretty far apart. Filming started much earlier, and I don't think Phil would stay too long at a single place doing his exposition.

Good question.

Should the third leg, by now have started? Or maybe I'm 100% wrong..

The third leg could have started in Oxford and travel to another European country in the North, perhaps Finland?

This could be an extended PitStop. I would wonder about a 24+ hour PitStop then head off to wherever. So everyone continue to watch everything closely!

If the next leg is in say, southern Africa with limited flight access from London, then the pit stop may have to be extended in order to give Phil, Bertram and TPTB time to get there ahead of the teams and to avoid the possibility that the teams could arrive ahead of them. Even if this next leg is relaticly close by, TPTB may want to let Phil get all his other stand ups there out of the way so he can leave as soon as all the teams checl in for leg 3 and be ahead of the teams for a leg 4.

If they go to Africa, I can only see them going to Morocco, Sierra Leone or Liberia. I think they will continue in Europe. I would love them to go to Prague and Budapest, way overdue

Edit: virus going in Liberia, Tar will definitely avoid any countries around it
I guess no Africa this season, unless they go to Ethiopia or Mauritius???

Is there a possibility to visit Kenya as a full Leg instead of airport shenanigans or is the international airport still under repair?

Since I've been watching TAR10 recently, how about returning to Madagascar?

Is there a possibility to visit Kenya as a full Leg instead of airport shenanigans or is the international airport still under repair?

Nairobi airport is fully functional at this point, if operating with somewhat temporary arrangements in some areas. Though given the security situation there, a leg out in the bush would probably be safer than one in Nairobi proper.

Given that Heathrow is such a major starting point for any number of long haul flights, it would seem to be a shame to waste the chance to get to some faraway destinations that aren't always easy to get to unless they're planning to exit Europe in one of the other major long haul hubs like Schiphol or Paris-CDG.

I'm currently slightly bummed that I managed to miss the Race going through ATL by a whopping 24 hours. Had a long layover there on Monday, and since you can roam anywhere in ATL once you're clear of the TSA no-fun zone, it would have been far more interesting to wander out to F terminal to take pictures from afar instead of hanging out in the E terminal food court trying to get the free wifi there to work.
