According to one racer, it's the longest leg of the race, ever.

So from what I viewed from all three previews, the Detour is:
("Master Mix" or "Mix Master")
In Master Mix, teams have to exactly copy 3+ scratch tracks on a spintable to receive their next clue.
In Mix Master, teams have to shake and pour race-colored cocktails into seven glass cups. Then, teams must stack the cups on top of each other and pour them simultaneously into a coup pyramid without letting any colors drip into different coups. If teams can perform this bartenders' trick and deliver all seven coups across a pool successfully, they will receive their next clue.

I just wonder why route creators chose to set this Detour in Malaysia. Malaysian nightlife really isn't that significant. This Detour in Mid-European countries (Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Prague, Czech Republic; Munich, Germany) would have easily been more suitable.

replacement legs are usually random like this

Maybe they want to show 2 sides of Malaysia: Traditional and Modern
DJing and Cocktail Mixing both seem modern to me... ???

I wonder how they mean that statement. It would have to beat a couple of legs that went for three days or so (such as TAR 9's epic Argentina to Russia to Germany leg) and I don't see anything about this leg that points to a time frame of that proportion.

Maybe they mean this season?

Just a small correction. TAR 9 never went to Argentina........but they did go to Brasil.

I wouldn't trust their opinion especially what they said about Leg 2's roadblock :funny:

I just wonder why route creators chose to set this Detour in Malaysia.

Malaysia (both legs) may have been apparently a last minute sub for an aborted Philippines visit (typhoon). TPTB prob did what they could on short notice.

I meant that first Malaysian leg (last week) is traditional and second Malaysian leg is modern.

Actually it might seem like a trainwreck leg, but on other terms it's really great as a substitute leg!! I mean, there sure looks to be lots of drama during the detour (and they look like hard tasks, which I LOVE), so I think it will be really interesting! Totally looking forward :)

Just realized that Luke's completely disadvantaged in Mix Master. :'(

Yeah, that's why they had to do Master Mix.....
I don't want to say it's unfair, as it is a Detour, but it left Margie & Luke with one option while the other teams had two options and could switch if they found one task too difficult.

OMG I hadn't realized that, too :groan:
It's such a shame, I really hope this is a NEL now, though I always want hard & frustrating legs to be ELIMs.

Yeah, I just meant that this seems (and now that I watched the episode - it was) a hard leg and I want hard legs to eliminate teams, but this time I felt different due to the disadvantage on Luke's part.
