Wiki Help
« on: October 08, 2013, 12:53:24 PM »
Hello! As you may or may not know, I'm currently building the Reality Fan Wiki's Amazing Race pages. I need your help.

I have created a category called "Failed Fast Forwards", and in it is contained all of the teams who have actively pursued a Fast Forward, but failed to obtain it. A few examples are Dave & Margaretta, Mary & Peach (twice), Ray & Yolanda and Louie & Michael.

I need you guys to try to think of as many teams that fit into this category as possible, from both the American version and any foreign version.

Note: I've already covered Seasons 1 through 14. No need to worry about those.

Here's the ones I can think of off the top of my head:
-Louie & Michael
-Nick & Vicki
-Joey "Fitness" & Danny
-Brendon & Rachel
-Ernie & Jeena
-Marc & Rovilson
-Pamela & Vanessa
-Shane & Andrew
-Alon & Hen

If you can think of any others, let me know please! Thanks!

Guillermo & Gabriel in the leg 3 of the first season of TARLA (Mendoza). They lost it with Tamara & Matías.

Nancy & Emily tried to beat the Fast Forward in Leg 9 of TAR1 in Thailand, but they lost to Joe & Bill.

Kelly & Jon to get the FF in the second Malaysia leg in TAR4, however they were too late and survived.

Rob & Amber went to a Fast Forward location in South Africa in TAR7, but failed to obtain it.

Brandon & Nicole attempted to do the Fast Forward in India, TAR5 Leg 9, but they decided not to use it.

Fran & Barry went to FF location in Greece, Leg 6 of TAR9. They were too late to do it.

Terence & Sarah tried to beat Nick & Starr in the Fast Forward in Kazakhstan, TAR13 Leg 8, and they were lost.

This is a part of TAR12, which you've done but I'm going to add this anyway: I read somewhere that Shana & Jennifer were going for an FF in Lithuania when they were nearly run over but that was edited out.

@Shana & Jennifer, yes I remember that too. Thank you for that.

@Fran & Barry, could you elaborate?

@TAR Canada, could you elaborate? I recall no-one even attempting that one.

@Lenny & Karyn, still waiting for a source on that, if possible :P

Thanks for your help, guys!

Fran & Barry went after the breaking plates FF in Greece, in TAR9, IIRC.

One of the sisters was seen with a fast forward in their hand, it was the leg body break were eliminated.

It was to do with a police simulation system and apparently was attempted by Jet & Dave, but they were unsuccessful.

But what is the evidence that they attempted the FF? It was my impression that no-one attempted it at all.

I think the only source I saw was from a friend in my Facebook group who linked an article they (Jet/Dave) said that they attempted, and failed in trying to attain the FF.

I found a quote from Holly & Brett's website blog that makes reference to it:

"Episode 5 had it all- so much even that a Police-car-simulation Fast Forward challenge, unsuccessfully attempted by most teams (Jet, again we’re lookin at you, and humbly suggest less salivating and more profession-avoidance) was entirely cut out from the episode."

I hope this helps you GB.

Check on the TAR Canada board. There are caps on the "Dead by lentils" thread.

I see. That's very interesting information. However, I'm not sure how I can use "Most of the teams" here, lol. Do I just apply the tag to every team who was in that leg?

I think Jet & Dave were the team that attempted it. You could just put a note that a FF was available that leg and failed by multiple teams??

No no, it's a wiki Category, meaning that if a team failed a Fast Forward, then this category would be attached to that team's wiki page.

The existence of that FF has been mentioned a few time by the teams from that season, the best way to check is to check the season 1 DVD, and there's also a resource that has collected media on TAR (Sir Links A Lot) going back to when the original season was greenlighted in 2000. http://www.sirlinksalot.net/archives/amazingrace8.html

In fact that is a good resource for those early seasons where we can't find the CBS site pages any longer.
