I don't get the people who say it was so amazing... IMO, there was nothing special. It was pretty middle of the road... the tasks, the location, the cast... I mean, somebody said that last season's was pretty unmemorable, but the sky diving in Bora Bora was spectacular! One of the most scenic premieres in the history of the show.
This one was like... okay so I guess the paragliding with the dunes and the ocean is kinda nice... the rowing task was just ok, decent in the sense that some teams could make a mistake by the wording of the clue, but not exciting for a premiere... the teams were just ok, the Afghanimals are pretty annoying, thought I would like Tim/Marie but they had no real spark yet, I usually like the F/F teams, but these are pretty generic. WAY too many M/M teams.  but I guess Chester/Ephraim are kinda nice, as are the Oklahoma boys. I THINK I might root for Jason/Amy, but I really dont know. Nobody really stood out for me...they were all just sort of there, or annoying.

I don't know, I was like very underwhelmed for my favorite tv show... hopefully it picks up and the cast begins to deliver.

Edited because I forgot to mention about the new intro, also I don't get why so many people hate it. I really like it, and the new music is great as well. Love the new instruments.

Also, forgot about this. i really felt for Naina. She seemed really excited for this and the only thing she did was ride in a cab. The design of the double roadblock was crappy, because she didn't do any real task.

This times trillions.

Out of all the Races, this one takes the cake as the most disappointing. From the cast to the starting line to Hoskote's unapologetic elimination, it was a downhill spiral that landed like a stick in wet sand. I'd say it was very unmemorable and felt more like a *gulp* video travel log than a race. :P

Iquique has a bright and old-classy casino, good surf sights at the beaches, and a historic part of town called Paseo Baquedano fit for a Chilean traditional task, and out of all places, they feature a boat marina and its fish? This is telling me the producers either need to fire the current route creators and rehire the old ones, or retrain them to know what quality control for task creating is since the second Roadblock was not appealing and the paragliding was another skydiving from TAR20.

Just had to lay it out there.

I just rewatch it in better quality and there is something that is bugging me...

When the front of the pack were paragliding from Alto Hospicio, they landed on PLAYA BRAVA, that is why the clue said "Find your partner, they will be paragliding to one of Iquique's beaches and you'll have to be brave to get there" Playa Brava would be something like Brave Beach.

BUT when the back of the pack, Jason, Brandon, Hoskote and Tim landed, they did it on a different beach called PLAYA HUAIQUIQUE. It probably didn't affect the outcome of the race but is really bugging me, specially if the clue said something about Brave Beach.

The second batch of teams got a different clue which told them to go to Huaiquique beach.

Are you sure? I was wondering because I could tell the back of the pack did the paragliding with a different company than the first one. Maybe the second company had Huaiquique Beach as a usual landing spot.

Pretty sure, both clues are shown in the episode.

OH! Didn't notice it, I'll check later I guess, thank you, such a minor detail was messing with my mind for some reason.

The idea of having to use a different company and a different landing spot for the same roadblock task is unusual. I don't recall ever hearing or seeing something like that before. Which makes the fact that we were shown the different information even more unusual.

Clue shown when Brandon&Adam were on-screen
You were right, they were directly sent to Huaiquique Beach.
This is a little bit weird.

I can confirm there were at least 2 paragliding companies, one was OASISFLY, this was tweeted that day:

@leslie_vega_ Es Amazing Race ....con un hermetismo tal, que @oasisfly no contesta el telefono

Is TAR, with such secrecy than @oasisfly doesn't answer the phone.

Oasisfly is a paragliding company.

They were involved in the front of the pack. (Trust me on this one)

Then we have "Parapente Ikike" or "Parapente Iquique" I think they are related,  their websites have the same pics and the same description, "El latigo" is the nickname of one of their pilots and is seen in the back of the pack... not sure if there is more than that... the landing spot is still a mystery to me...

Perhaps the reason they used two companies is that they wanted to be prepared to handle all teams at once. That is they needed 11 different instructors with tandem chutes ready.

This would be needed if the first flight got delayed  and all the teams arrived more or less at the same time. I assume that it takes quite a while to perform the flight, pack up the chute and drive back up to the starting position and make ready for another flight.

Probably, it takes like 20-30 minutes to paraglide down to the beach, and another 20-30 minutes to go back to Iquique... that's without time to gather the equipement and check it for safety.
