« on: August 28, 2013, 10:00:31 AM »
Chester and Ephraim

Chester and Ephraim

Name: Chester Pitts II
Age:
33
Hometown: Missouri City, Texas
Connection to your teammate: Friend and NFL teammate
Current occupation: Sports Anchor/Analyst for “Texans Insider,” Executive Consultant for ZT Wealth and Altus HMS. Played for the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks, totaling nine seasons over 10 years in the NFL.
Describe what you do: I anchor and report mainly sports, but occasionally do some feel-good stories. I educate others on how to live within their means. I help people achieve their goals, one person at a time.
3 words to describe you: Genuine, passionate and hard-working.
Favorite hobbies: Reading, autocross and watching movies.
What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? I am proud of having the most awesome family ever!
What famous person reminds you of yourself? Shaquille O’Neal but far more handsome.
What famous person reminds you of your teammate? No one. Ephraim is truly a unique individual. But, if I have to pick one, Forrest Whittaker.
What scares you most about traveling? Germs!
What excites you most about traveling? New experiences, people and cultures.
Biggest challenge you and your teammate will face on The Race together: He is impulsive, but also "smells the roses."
Pet peeve about your teammate: He struggles with the truth on occasion.
What country and place would you most like to visit and why? London. I would like to have tea with the Queen.
What do you hope to accomplish by running The Race (other than winning one million bucks)? Winning is enough for me.

Name: Ephraim Salaam
Age:
36
Hometown: Studio City, Calif.
Connection to your teammate: Friend and NFL Teammate
Current occupation: Co-host of “Fox Sports Live.” Played for the Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons totaling 13 years in the NFL.
Describe what you do: I guest host for a few shows across different networks, as well as do football analysis.
3 words to describe you: Obstinate, competitive (ultra) and proud.
Favorite hobbies: Movies, video games and traveling.
What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? Being a great father.
What famous person reminds you of yourself? Shaquille O’Neal
What famous person reminds you of your teammate? Michael Clarke Duncan
What scares you most about traveling? Leg room on the planes, trams and busses
What excites you most about traveling? Exploring new places and experiencing different cultures.
Biggest challenge you and your teammate will face on The Race together: He doesn’t listen very much. He thinks he’s smarter than everyone else. I would like to see him in a situation where he had to listen.
Pet peeve about your teammate: He never wants to do anything new and exciting and he’s cheap as hell.
What country and place would you most like to visit and why? Africa. I would love to see the motherland. My mother travels there a lot and she says it’s glorious.
What do you hope to accomplish by running The Race (other than winning one million bucks)? I would like to experience the race with Chester because he never wants to do anything adventurous. He loves to play it safe.

They seem a lot like Herb & Nate. However, I think they will be more likable to me than Herb & Nate were. I can already tell that every confessional is going to be like doing sports commentating for them, which could either be a good thing or a bad thing.

I think they're another sports team and I don't really like those, but hopefully they make good tv.

Arrogance in the race usually is a major downfall, and flaw.

Not a fan of them. Better out soon.

If Phil ever tells me, after 36153867254917561048 flights and delays that as I am in the airport, it shouldn't be hard for me to get out of Lisbon, man, I kill him.

Elimination Interview: Chester and Ephraim

Posted on Oct 14, 2013 03:50pm

Read what Chester and Ephraim said about their elimination from the Race and if they'd do anything differently!

Nancy J: It was hard to watch you be eliminated tonight due to cancelled flights. I admired how you maintained good humor throughout the day. Is there another team you will be rooting for now?
Ephraim
- I will be rooting for Danny and Tim. I'm team Oklahoma now.
Chester - If I have to pick a team to root for. I'm going to go with the ER Doctors.

Marisa H: What kept you guys from having a total meltdown? What was your favorite experience during the season? You guys kept it together during that disaster.
Ephraim
- I would not have a meltdown. Just keeping everything in perspective. Certain things you can't control. The only thing you can control is how to react to them.
Chester - If anger and frustration would have gotten us to Portugal faster we would have gotten angry and frustrated, but at the end of the day that behavior would not have gotten us there any sooner so it would not make any sense to behave like that.

Araina S: Do you feel that you should have been allowed to have a second chance back into the game, considering things were sort of out of your control with the planes and scheduling?
Ephraim
- No, the game is the game. I would have liked for it to be a non-elimination leg, but if you decide to do something than you have to be accountable for your actions.
Chester - The rules are the rules and they are in play. Would we have liked for it to happen, yes! But just because we got a raw deal, it is what it is.

Robin H: To NFL Players, if you could do it would have kept your original tickets? Three transfers is a lot for any trip.
Ephraim
- We would have preferred to take the flight that we tried to book first.
Chester - We would have preferred the flight that we deserved because we finished first in the last leg and should have been on the first flight. All those crazy stops happened because of the ticket agent's mistake.

Corey S: Exactly how many hours were you guys behind?
Chester
- 22 hours and 33 minutes
Ephraim - That's a pretty good assessment. We were about a day behind.

Felipe R: If you were invited back to the show, what would you guys do differently?
Ephraim
- Make sure the travel agent didn't make an error.
Chester - No matter what stay with the pack and lean on our abilities to get us through.

I've got to say they were a bit of a surprise for me. I was going into the season expecting to be reasonably neutral about them but I really think they did well in leaving an impression, They did well for the two legs they competed in and they maintained a positive attitude even during their flight problems. I do think they are a good solid pick for the next season, Had they not had the flight problems I'd say they would of made it far say Top 5. I wouldn't say no to them returning.
It's Clobbering Time!
