So only five "guaranteed" delays out of eleven.  The first and definitely the last episodes are spared, but not the penultimate episode, which might be a little meaningless as it was a year ago.

Just a reminder that while episode 1 will start on time for those on the CBS east coast feed this coming Sunday, September 29th, the following Sunday will be a NFL doubleheader for CBS, and the program listings will show a 8:30pm eastern/8:00pm pacific start for episode 2, with a possibility for a more delayed start.
I've noticed that the e-mailed Eye-lerts over the off-season have been really delayed and I often have not gotten them until the late local news came on; but CBS is provided on-air eye-lerts with the adjusted start times for that night.

Looking at a slight delay for those in the Detroit, Chicago, Kansas City, Houston, Memphis, Nashville, Tampa Bay, New York City, Albany, Burlington and Hartford metro areas. Jets/Titans game still has 7 minutes left in it.

The retitled 506sports.com shows the CBS doubleheader, and that the entire country, except for most of Arizona, will be getting the Dallas v. Denver game. (There was a second game that would have been part of the late doubleheader (San Diego v. Oakland) but because of the scheduling for the Major League Baseball playoffs involving the Oakland stadium being in use on Saturday night, the NFL game had to be change to a PDT primetime game on NFL network.

I doubt, though, that folks in Arizona will have a delay since they will be on the CBS west coast feed.

It appears all of the late doubleheader games ended before 7:30pm ET.

CBS does not have the double header Sunday. So no 4:25 eastern time games this week. But CBS does have two late games at 4:05 eastern that will affect quite a few people.

Pittsburgh @ Oakland will take in most of West Virginia and Pennsylvania, parts of Kentucky and the only really big outlier is Dallas and Detroit.

NYJets @ Cincinnati will affect most of Ohio and NY.

Check out www.the506sports.com for latest updates Sunday morning.

37 minute delay for those who had the Pittsburgh/Oakland game (Detroit, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Norfolk, West Virginia areas). Not sure if those who had the New York Jets/Cincinnati game (New York City, Albany, Columbus, Cincinnati, Louisville, Jacksonville areas) were brought over for the end of Pittsburgh/Oakland or if their 60 minutes started earlier.

The next two Sundays (Nov 3, and Nov 10), CBS has the national double header. CBS delays the start of their prime time on double header Sundays by 30 minutes. So TAR will NOT start before 8:30 pm Eastern time. IF games run long, TAR might be delayed from the 8:30 eastern time.

I suspect the 8 minute delay tonight was for people that had the other late game on CBS today, the Jets/Bengals. People that had the Steelers/Raiders game had the 36 minute delay.

As Peach has mentioned in another thread, the U.S. and Canada go off daylight savings time for the winter beginning at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning, local DST. For the east coast of the U.S. this will shift (Eastern Time Zone) from -4 GMT to -5 GMT, and the west coast (Pacific Time Zone) from -7 GMT to -8 GMT.

Almost the entire eastern and central time zone will get the Pittsburgh @ New England game. The Baltimore @ Cleveland game will be seen in basically their home markets. Both games start at 4:25 pm eastern time. Since all 4 teams are high passing teams, the clock will stop a lot and the probability of a run over is very high.

My TVGuide has CBS prime time starting at 7:30 pm eastern time, with TAR at 8:30 pm eastern. I would suspect at least a 30 minute delay and TAR to start around 9:00 pm eastern.

We will probably have the same situation as last week. There will probably be two feeds. The early feed will probably start about 8:40pm eastern for the people that had the Bal/Cle game. The other game is still 5 minutes from the end. Most of the people in the country have this game......NE/Pit.

On doubleheader days, doesn't everyone get switched to the last game to end once their game is over.

Not necessarily if there is a large time differential in ending of the games.

The late feed will probably start at 8:59 eastern. That is about 20 minutes after the early feed for Bal/Pit

I guess it varies. I think in the past, the game that had the main team announcing would have to end before the CBS Primetime shows started.  However, Pittsburgh was getting destroyed by New England, so I could see why those that had Ravens/Browns would not switch to the other game (there were only 2, thanks to 6 teams on a bye and TNF)

No overtime, Arizona gets it back (turnover on downs). Should be a 7:45-7:50 start

Sorry, meant 8:45-8:50 (earlier time would be for 60 Minutes though)

So No 30 min. delay then? Am I understanding this correctly?

What peach meant (I think) is that the schedule is set to start programming half an hour early regardless.  So if 60 Minutes started at 7:30, it would still be on time, but half an hour later per the new schedule (that started last year for CBS NFL Doubleheaders).  To today, it's only a 17-minute delay, but not a 47-minute delay.

CBS will have a single late game tomorrow. The San Diego/Miami game will start at 4:05 eastern. The markets, in eastern/central time zones, affected are Detroit, Pittsburgh, Philly, Norfolk, Va, Atlanta, eastern and southern Georgia, Florida and central, western Missouri and most of Kansas.

Both teams are passing teams, so hopefully it wont run overtime too much.

Another heads up for a larger area of the Midwest and Ohio valleys; your local station may have to cover severe weather tomorrow; the NWS Storm Preduction Center has already forecast a moderate risk for t-storms with a risk of high winds, large hail, and even tornadoes.
It's the sort of weather that delays outside sporting events these days, especially if lightening is observed. Fortunately, the Chargers-Dolphins game is no where near the forecasted risk area, but it could cause local weather coverage that could overlap the CBS network schedule.

Raleigh gets the Baltimore at Chicago game tomorrow. It starts at 1:00 pm eastern. I should be over by 4 pm eastern.

But as theschnauzers pointed out, there is weather warnings for the Midwest. Soldier Field is an open stadium. If there is lighting in the area during the game, it could be delayed. But I really don't believe any weather delay will could affect your start time for TAR.

This is to update the NWS Severe Weather forecast for Sunday in a wide area of the US that gets the CBS east coast prime time feed.

I understand most of the highlighted areas are not getting the late single NFL game tomorrow (Sunday) but your local CBS station, if it is in the forecast area for possible severe weather (high risk, moderate risk, slight risk) and severe storm warnings are issued for your locality, you can expect local stations to interrupt CBS programming in the afternoon and evening to cover the storms in your area.

I've copied the latest map from the SPC put up recently (11:30 am ET). There may be later updates of their forecasts but my experience is that the area affected doesn't vary much, although the level of risk may change. (After High Risk, the next level is the Extremely Dangerous Situation level, which almost guarantees possible tornadic formations being detected by radar or by trained spotters on the ground.)
At the time I updated this post, almost all of Illinois, the lower peninsula of Michigan, and nearby areas of Indiana and Ohio are under the most serious form of tornado watches with the extremely dangerous situation label) so much of the midwest into the northeast may be subject to local station coverage of the severe weather ouybreak and may affect viewing of TAR at its usual time on the east coast feed.

Looks like a delay for folks around San Diego, Miami, and Western PA.  8:08 isn't bad, but it sucks when most of the country starts on time (especially in a Double-Uturn episode that'll reveal the Top 5).

This Sunday, Nov 24, CBS has single games only. CBS does not have the double header. CBS does again have two late games starting at 4:05 pm eastern time.

One game is Indianapolis @ Arizona. This game will be televised in eastern half of North Dakota, 95% of Minnesota, all of Wisconsin, all of Michigan, all of Indiana, very small part of Kentucky, most of Illinois, St Louis viewing area, Charlotte, NC, Tampa and Miami.

2nd game is Tennessee @ Oakland. This game will be seen in all of Tennessee, parts of Kentucky, northern Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and a small part of Arkansas (Memphis viewing area)

If there is a delay, it should be small, similar to last week.....just a few minutes.

Looks like all of the games ended before 7. If you had Indy/Cards, you'll be fine. Tennessee/Oakland minor at best.  Next week is the penultimate episode following a double-header, so everyone will start a little later (no one EST in the country will have a head start over someone else)

Per the main AR Twitter account, expect a delay.

IOW, it still won't start at 8:00, but it could be pushed beyond it's newer double-header start time of 8:30.

Yep, today is CBS double header day. CBS prime time programming starts at 7:30pm eastern time. TAR is @ 8:30pm eastern time.

Most of the nation will have the Denver/Kansas City game. A very small part of US will have the Cincinnati/San Diego game (Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia).

Game starts at 4:30pm eastern time and the length of game will be determined on how many incomplete passes there are. Lets hope that Manning and Smith complete all their passes......lol

Remember when the US is off daylight savings time, the UTC for the US Eastern Time zone is -5.

The NFL just ended (almost the entire US had the same late NFL doubleheader game), and 60 Minutes started on the east coast feed at 6:51  pm Eastern Time, so add one hour for TAR start on the east coast feed.

CBS has one late game today.......Tennessee at Denver. It starts at 4:05pm eastern. At normally 3 hours a game, time will be tight for 60 Minutes to start in the viewing area. Good news is that Denver should win easily. The viewing area includes the following..........

Both Dakotas, western Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Detroit/eastern Michigan, Houston, Philly, Baltimore and all of Tennessee. Also Atlanta, Birmingham, Huntsville, northern Mississippi, small portion of eastern Ark (Memphis area) and southern Kentucky.

I sure hope that Manning makes quick work of the Titans so everyone can watch TAR at the same time.

I was thinking about Denver and how it was West Coast only that would be affected.  Forgot about Tennessee completely, so that has to suck.  But hopefully they'll be able to make the game end before 7.  Next year, I think CBS will get the double-header on 12/07/14 so that'll delay everyone, but what makes the double-header a plus is that no one is ahead of the other (in the US, at least).

Why do you think that? They do not alternate, btw. CBS and FOX work out between them who has double header every week. They do it so it equals out by the end of the season. FOX likes to have single games early in the football season, because they have MLBaseball playoffs. CBS likes double headers early and late in season, so it doesn't mess up too much with their prime time schedule.

But I will concede that guessing a year in advance only gets you a 50/50 chance at being right.

Mountain and Pacific are never affected by football run overs, only eastern and central time zones. So it is pointless to even name cities in Mountain or Pacific that have the late game. I only point out the cities in central and eastern when I post cities likely to be delayed.

Late games televised in Mountain Time zone start at either 2:05 or 2:25......so they are over before 60 Minutes start. Pacific Time zone late games start at 1:05 or 1:25 and are not even close to delaying 60 Minutes.

During TARs 12 week run, it is usually FOX with 7 double headers and CBS with 5.

When I said Denver was affected, what I meant was that their programming would be pushed back, but not TAR.  The announcers always mention that during the East Coast promo.  That's my fault since I wasn't clear on that.

Yeah, I did say that I think CBS will get the double-header next year.  Totally a guess.  I'm aware how the NFL scheduling works in general and that the double-headers don't alternate between FOX and CBS.  Next year does start a new TV contract, where a game can be flexed to a different network.  But that is for another day, just a random guess; my hope is that TAR can always start at the same time for everyone for a finale (especially the finale)

As a general rule, locations in the Mountain Time Zone do get the west coast feed, but not always.
There are some locations that are two hours behind the east coast feed for programming and are a hour ahead of the west coast feed, and some locations are so close to the dividing line between the central and mountain time zone areas, they follow central time and thus, may choose between the east coast feed or the 2 hour behind mountain time feed. (This has been apparent to me from voting patterns tracked on Dial Idol for AI voting during that season.) It is complicated. But those of us who are trying to give a heads up about where there may be delays try to be cautious and give y'all a heads up about the possibility so you can plan accordingly.

Why do all the tweets from CBS ALWAYS say for eastern and central time zones? Because CBS know that mountain and pacific are never affected. I have friends in Denver and they have NEVER been delayed by football overruns.
