Nam 2, but I doubt they would go to Norway.

Could it be TAR Norway 3?

Didn't season 2 kinda spring up on us last time too?

Maybe they started in a far flung location, and have to figure out the best way to get out of the country and to their first place?

PURE SPECULATION

So June 11 was start of Leg 2 Pitstart.
Teams finished Leg 2 June 12-13 in/around Santiago, Chile
And did not pop back up until yesterday, June 15 in Lisbon, Portugal. This is more likely to be Leg 3 or 4? What do we think?

It could be an extended pit stop. We don't know 100%.

24 hours can easily be used up in the racecourse of The Amazing Race, though Declive. As jimmer25 stated the teams could have had an extended 36-hour-pitstop or more, and also flight connections could have been difficult - from South America to Lisbon, Portugal. Teams may have endured multiple layovers in different airports on their way to Lisbon.  :)

To add support for the theory of a possible extended pitstop. If the next country has limited flight opportunities for whatever reason, the producers would hold the teams back in order to send Phil and the lead production team ahead.

Declive could be right, I could SPECULATE they might have went to or near Lake Titicaca at the Peruvian-Bolivian border, the question is if there is enough time for the sighting in Lisbon to match up with any other flight except at Comodoro Arturo Benitez Int'l Airport. From my guess/speculation, they probably went this route:

Leg 1 (U.S. --> Chile) / Los Angeles to Santiago and bus to Iquique
Leg 2 (Chile --> Peru --> Bolivia) / bus connecting from Arequipa to Lake Titicaca
Leg 3 (Bolivia --> Portugal) / went across the lake and drove to La Paz Int'l Airport to purchase a flight to Lisbon [via Brazil or Spain].

But the biggest question of all is: Was there a sighting of them at a South American airport after arriving in Chile?

I am not at all certain there was a leg 3 in SA, could have been but also could have been an extended pitstop. This remains in the UNKNOWN category for now. ANd since we have NO evidence, it is hard to say.

Anyway...

Tried to sharpen this:

Note the shoes, all dark...dont ALL of our racers have pretty bright colorful shoes? ???

Someone who has seen ALL the racers up close has just messaged me that these do NOT match. And again, with Phil needing to be ahead of racers, teams should be perhaps JUST leaving Lisbon...

I think it is much more likely that Neobie's Sintra, Portugal is correct and then...

wouldn't Gibraltar/Morocco be fun?? (pure spec!)

Spec on one of the destinations in Sintra, Portugal: Pena Palace or Castelo Dos Mouros?

Might worth a search for keywords.. ;)

Okay, so I just did some math, and it looks like either the guys with the blue bandanas, the brunette girls, the boston couple, or the elder Indian couple will be the first out :/ (although it probably won't be the brunette girls as they were on the first flight)

Sorry this was random- just an update for anyone who wanted it :)

How do you figure?  Just wondering how you made that assumption. There are a few other teams I don't remember hearing about or seeing lately. To be honest the only two ive heard anything about on here is the cheerleaders and the San Diego state guys. Am I missing something?

Oops I forgot to mention the pink haired girl and her boyfriend  :groan: sorry

But anyway, as you mentioned, the LA Kings and San Diego state football players advance past leg 1. The metalheads were also spotted in Santiago. The Afghanimals were seen at the leg 1 pit stop, and were not the last ones there (in the newspaper article). In the very first picture of the Bingo guys, they were chatting with the African american M/F couple, but you could see the pit stop off to the side and the San Diego State guys were being checked in; this is probably because bingo & african american M/F had already checked in. Hope this helps :)

I'm not sure if this is relevant (because a cap is a silly thing to go by), but I saw a man wearing an Amazing Race cap in Sintra, Portugal on Mon 13 May. Was thinking nothing about it until Portugal came up as a possibility for this season. It seems that the cap is not for sale - suggesting he could be a member of production, but could someone bother to verify?

I've got the same cap. IT IS a CBS official product. It is/was available to the general public as my sister got it for me a couple of years ago.

No, Phil was in Lisbon. :)

Are any of those teams really us? ???

Plus if you're going from Santiago to Svolvaer, Lisbon is a downright bizarre connection point. There are no direct flights from Santiago, and the only direct flights to Europe are through Madrid and Paris. There are several daily flights from Paris to Oslo (which presumably is the last connection in any TAR flight route to Svolvaer). From Madrid, there's only seasonal flights to Oslo, but flights to Copenhagen and Stockholm, which would be better than going Santiago-Madrid-Lisbon-Oslo-Svolvaer.

Thanks for the clarification!  It's funny how whenever we get a picture it's always the same teams in them. The pink haired girl and guy have rarely been seen the whole time. Even in LAX there was only one picture of them and it was of their backs, compared to multiple pictures of the other teams. Very strange. Same with the brunette girls.
