The Estrella newspaper from Iquique mentions that yesterday's greeter was Pamela Díaz.

Notice her recent silence (black-out) even when she is an active tweeter.

Pamela Diaz was the greater in the Santiago leg of TAR 7 too.  :lol3:

I think that the article mentions that Pamela Diaz was the greeter in Santiago back in TAR 7(?) dressed in mapuche (native indian) costume, not that she was the greeter now. Fot the greater now it just says that she is a model.

So based on what we have so far...

Teams sighted at the Pit Stop:
Team Interracial *or* Black Couple M/F
Team Afghanimals M/M
Team African-American M/M
Team Bingo M/M
Team Red/Pink with black bags F/F

Teams on the first flight:
Team Interracial *or* Black Couple M/F
Team Afghanimals M/M
Team African-American M/M
Team Cheerleaders F/F
Team Red/Pink with black bags F/F

I would assume that Team Bingo M/M (the previously missing team) and team Pink/Blonde hair M/F were also on the first flight, since they were grouped with other first flight teams in the Chile sightings. Also, since the first flight seems to have arrived a while before the second, it appears (barring any catastrophes for the remaining first flight teams) that the following teams (all on the last flight) will be fighting for last place on Leg 1 and possible elimination.

Last Flight Teams:
Team Older Couple M/F
Team Blue M/M
Team Boston M/F
Team Duck Dynasty M/M

Here are the other two teams who also aren't confirmed as having checked in.

First Group Teams who weren't seen checking in:
Team Cheerleaders F/F
Team Pink/Blonde Hair M/F

Someone please correct me if I made any errors.

Pics ???

It's based on all the pics in the updates thread and the contestants thread. I'm just trying to put all of the information in one place.

The Pit Stop check-ins are confirmed by the pics from the Chilean newspaper that Plaidmoon(?) posted, and then the pics from Peach of Team Bingo and Team Interracial Couple M/F near the mat. Flight information is taken from Dom's timeline thread, plus the addition of the two other teams whose flights were not known who were spotted in the Roadblock sighting pics with the first flight teams. That's where it all came from. ;)

Afraid and Aware of Peach will get angry more.. I just posted here..

I don't really think they're related to TAR, but here's the pic:

This looks like a PITSTART to me. Remember that the first teams may have checked in by 1 or 2 or so so a night start would be right.

And reports are that of the 4 clocks, none have the right time.

This pic below was taken not long after the above picture, you can see a group of people still mingling around on the right side and there's a couple standing in the middle of the tower, if this turns out to be a pit start, oh well..

Peach was speculating busses being used at the beginning of leg 2; I'm wondering if that might be taxis or even self-driving. (When TAR previously went to that same desert (TAR 11) if I recall correctly, they self-drove.)

If they are going to San Pedro, then we have a Salar de Uyuni leg for sure!
I went there last summer, and the town of san pedro is empty, there is nothing to do there except some sandboarding, and biking. But it's the closest town to the Salar, wich is an amaing thing to see! And it's really easy to cross the boarder + even if there are some tourist that may see, they can report for a good 3 days because there is no wifi in the desert!

No...what I meant was that it is not clear how teams travel to San Pedro...plane to Calama and then bus? Bus should be involved.

This appears to be a split leg of some sort...half outside Iquique and then the rest in San Pedro? :duno:

They could have gone to Antofagasta by bus and from there go to San Pedro performing several tasks along the way with self-driving. It's similar to TARLA 3 leg 8 but they went from San Pedro - Calama to Antofagasta with some tasks in the middle.

That could be a possibility, self driving is always good!

What is telling us that they left for San Pedro, Calama, Antofagasta or the Salar at Uyumi? I must have missed something.

If they were bused out, there is also a possibility they could be in southern Peru, like Cuzco/Machu Picchu or remotely Cochabamba in Bolivia kind of backtracking the past Bolivian leg.

Leg 2 began in Iquique, and then continued outside the city. Following a task, teams may have continued onwards to San Pedro de Atacama yesterday for the rest of the leg. Bus travel?

Hopefuly we'll get more info... from the descriptions it seems they are going to Cajon del Maipo outside Santiago. It is a beautiful place but it takes some time to get there.
