I hate this week's videos btw... they edited out the judges comments.

Polaroid:
Based on your ratings Joab, I thought that Lazaro and Elijah would have amazing performances... but they were really underwhelming. Elijah's voice is so much more nasally than I remember. A little flat in places too. I found Lazaro's voice lacking power for the song. Then I stopped listening to the boys. :lol3:

I don't think the boys and girls are even comparable this year.

Polaroid, I was judging them in comparison to all the guys, not to be influenced with the grades that I gave the girls.

If Angie, Amber and Kree were the A standard and if the boys were to be compared with them, then the 3 guys which I rater A- would be getting B, which means every other guy drops 2 grades. :lol3:

Only those 3 guys had performances I felt were better than A FEW of the girls. The rest, sucked.

I hope this kid will be OK. Charlie Askew had a meltdown after hearing the judges critique. His song choice was not good, his choice of clothing was terrible and I don't know what he meant when he said he just had to vent. We'll know in a little while if he made the cut. I really don't expect that to happen.

Charlie Askew Butchers American Idol Performance, Breaks Down on Stage
by Hilton Hater at March 7, 2013 2:00 am.  Updated at March 7, 2013 3:21 pm.

Poor Charlie Askew.

The American Idol hopeful auditioned live for the first time tonight, choosing the track "Mama" by Genesis. Which is about a prostitute.

But things got even weirder from there: Askew donned a ponytail. And a grungy shirt. And screeched throughout the performance, drawing outright laughter from the judges.

"What happened?" Nicki Minaj asked. "I don’t want to see your arms. I don’t want you working out. I don’t want to see that ponytail. I don't want to see that earring. Lose the mustache immediately. I feel like someone stole my kid. I want my cute, cuddly Charlie back!"

After hearing harsh critiques from the panel, Askew broke down alongside Ryan Seacrest.

“All I can say is, I needed to vent a little bit," Charlie said when asked about the audition. "A lot of people think I’m a very happy boy, and the only reason I smile so much is because I feel like I have to."

Wow. Sad, profound stuff.

Seacrest handled the situation like a pro, telling Askew: “You’ve got some friends here. We appreciate your courage and your honesty, and there’s nothing easy about having those feelings inside and standing up here and having to do that tonight.”
