I might be wrong , but i may know what's going on there :

While the Eat , Sleep , Mingle part of the day (since Bora Bora is a small place they get to do this this time) , John and Jessica discuss that things with Dave and Connor.

They leave in the morning , NO Hours of Operation or anything like that.

Therefore , Bates and Anthony and Dave and Connor check-in again for 2nd/3rd place , in that last scene.
