So the teams started at the Hilton, went a big round around Toopua Island in their water taxis, and returned to the Hilton...

Leg three! (Lots of people getting lost! I think I'll pass on those. But going up Mount Hutt might be the biggest navigational mistake this leg!)

It looks like the fishing is closer to the Detour Decision, but the path there involves a doubling-back, which means it's only slightly closer than the race-car driving.

Edit: Thanks Peach for catching the end credits!

Leg 4. Thanks to Nyoman_SB1 and Chateau!

I can't confirm the exact location for Sandy Bottom, but that's the closest match I've found.

If it helps with Edinburgh, the final parking area is at Parliament Square on the Royal Mile to the east of St. Giles Cathedral

I suppose this is the best place for this. The cluebox at the Brandenburg Gate was clearly on the same spot as the Pit Stop mat from TAR6's Berlin episode. But was the alphorn player in the same train-station-adjacent field as the crossbow Road Block from TAR3? It seemed like it to me, but it's hard to tell when summer and winter look so different.

The pit stop mat for TAR 6 was on the Tiergarten side of the Brandenburg Gate. The clue box for TAR 22 was on the Unter den Linden side of the Brandenburg Gate in front of the US Embassy. The two spots are about 40-50 yards apart.

In TAR 6, teams parked their cars about 5 blocks east of the Gate on Unter den Linden and ran west, through the gate to Phil and the mat. In TAR 22, teams parked their cars on Elbertstrasse, south of the gate and ran north, then east through the gate to the clue box. Green line is route of TAR 6 teams and red line is route of TAR 22 teams.

Close but not exactly! Teams in TAR 3 stayed on the Grindelwald side of the river and ran east. Teams in TAR 22 ran south across the river.

(That hill up to Grindelwald, both for TAR 3 teams and for Joey/Meghan, is insanely steep (at high-ish altitude), and is a HUGE pain in the ass to climb, let alone run to the Pit Stop!)

Was looking for the pit-stop location in Bali for TAR 22, where Ketut's Surf Shop is and guess what I found on TripAdvisor... :lol3:

It's actually Suluban Beach / Uluwatu Surfing Beach.. and if you click the link above you can spot some familiar locations we have seen on TAR! <3

Apskip pointed out to me (correctly) that there's an alternate route from Hains Pt to the finish mat, via Highway 1 or Route 400 on the west side of the Potomac instead of I-295 on the east side. It's a toss-up on Google Maps, since the west bank routes are shorter, but are on smaller roads and have more lights. I've left the maps as they are until someone can verify if the episode shows teams travelling one way or another.

And here's the summary map! It's a mess in Europe, but I've tried to get all of it in!

Permanent link here, but I can't get PhotoBucket to save a picture of reasonable resolution:

When I lived in the D.C. area, and worked downtown, I would usually use the 14th Street bridge and the George Washington Parkway when I lived south of Alexandria, which is literally on the way to Mount Vernon. (I also would park on the Virginia side and take the metro intown, and back at the end of the day, driving on the GW Parkway.)
In fact, it was a good thing I was doing that on the day a passenger flight leaving National airport crashed into the 14th Street bridge, and many people who drove to work all the way in never got home that night; the bridge was closed completely for weeks, and wasn't fully repaired for months. I was on the subway when that happened, and I only learned what happened after I got home.)

The issue would be what road construction would be going on; that often affects what routes would be taken. (The problem with going down I-395 to the Capitol Beltway is that you then have to cross over the Potomac on that bridge which has been kept open and rebuilt completely at least twice since I lived there, and the exits to the GW Parkway on the west side is not easy any longer.)

I suspect the taxis would have used the west side route and not the east side of the river from Hains Point to Mt. Vernon.

You guys are both right!

Went back to watch the video and Bates/Anthony were seen going off west-bound I-395 to the south-bound George Washington Memorial Parkway, which leads straight to Mount Vernon. Maps updated to reflect the correction.

Thanks!
