That's definitely them. Thing is, Joey uploaded a video 20 hours ago, and her 19 hours ago. I would assume they recorded them before leaving and someone else did the uploading, as thy would have been filming already.

ZBC, I think that image makes it hard to judge.

Another possibility is Native American or even someone of ethnic Eskimo (Alaskan) heritage, and as far as I know, we've not seen either on the mothership in 21 prior seasons.

Ya, I'm sorry ZBC.. You can't just ask if someone is chinese american because they look like it in their picture. We don't do that here.

I'm only suggesting it as a possibility; just as Chinese-American or other Asian-American is a possibility, or as Leafsfan says, they might be "multi-ethnic" (my term, btw).

Winnie and Cam are beautiful ladies no matter what their heritage, but I wonder if they are of Phillipine descent. I do have 2 work mates named Winnie and both are originally from the Phillipines.
Apparently, some consider themselves South Pacific Islanders and not Asian.

Just a thought.

it is sort of a bad camera angle but they do not look filipino.

Totally agree Eddie, but just looking at what else might be possible. It may be as simple as they are against being defined by their cultural ethnicity, and rather choose to be identified as American.

With some help from Oval finding FB..

Jaclyn Rauderson (Miss Florida 2010)

&

credit to the Tampa Tribune Link
Jarod Dicks?

Y/n?

Here is her cover photo(Idk if its safe to post so if its not just edit)

I am hearing that this team is NOT Jaclyn Rauderson & Jarod Dicks. So until we can look into this further, let's assume it is not them and keep on looking? Thanks!

and learnt of Chuck and Wynona McCall, age 46 and 49 from Alabama Can't say more, but I may be on the telly box...nuff said ;)

I did a little research on Google, starting with Kiwi Jay info, and I found a Charles M. McCall and a Wynona F. McCall from Daphne, Alabama.  I still trying to find pics to match with our photos, but the ages from both of them are in the same range with the provided in the profile I found.

That's them. They said Daphne. I had found her on FB yesterday as well but not Chuck.

Awesome work Kiwi!  Looks like you had fun.  I spoke Chuck a little at LAX.  Wynona had her ankle wrapped up due to an injury.  Was that still bothering her in NZ?

I'm a little worried about the implications of spelling out their absence from home for the duration of the race.  I hope nobody robs the home while they are gone  :o

Which Team looks the most freaked out to you at this point?

I spoke to them in depth too. Lovely people - however yes that does seem like something that we should take into account hmmm I hope not :( ankle was fine - as the video you will see shows she was running and hollering when she got out of the arrivals gate. Awesome fun - the father and son whos names I didn't catch look deflated but persevering - son looks pensive poor guy. Blondes and 'dudes' seem nice enough and helped one another at ticketing. Joey and Meghan stood at the counter and played up for the camera as I caught on a small video and they were posturing and pulling peace and martial arts signs - he's rather out there to be honest. Didn't catch much more of the other two female teams or the young unseen couple. The team we thought was another couple (purple) he was very nice. And that's as much as I can recall

NHL.com lists 5 players with the first name Justin. Our guy really doesn't look like any of them. Justin Braun of the San Jose Sharks and Justin Falk of Minnesota look closest to me. Especially Falk when I see him with a beard.

Falk was born in Canada, so he may not be eligible for TAR. Braun was born in Minnesota. I don't see any shorter American players on either team.

Well, Justin Falk has tweets in his Twitter account on Nov. 13 and 16.

OK, that rules him out then.

I believe we have our first professional hockey players on the race.
Give a big RFF welcome to Bates (Jonathan) and Anthony Battaglia - brothers from Chicago.

Bates was a journeyman player - most notably played for the Carolina Hurricanes and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Last season he played with the  Karlskrona Hockey club in Sweden.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bates_Battaglia

Anthony never played in the NHL, has spent many seasons in the East Coast Hockey League and Central Hockey League - most recently with the Tulsa Oilers.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Battaglia

Bates owns a bar in Raleigh SC called Lucky B's. I think Anthony has recently moved to SC and is considering pursuing a career as a firefighter.

All credit for this to Chateau for his insightful investigation and start line photos.

Good work, Chateau! I was just thinking NHL players were unlikely even though there's no apparent end to the current NHL labor dispute.
