It is possible that they could get a flight out of Edinburgh via Amsterdam/London to US or a flight from Glasgow to the US direct (into Newark, there was a flight at 9am GMT today, next being on Thursday at same time).

If they arrived in Edinburgh on Monday, pit stop monday night, Tuesday travel to roadblock/detour (maybe St Andrews for a Golf thing possibly up to Stonehaven for the switchback at Dunotter Castle or across to Glasgow. Wednesday flight back to US via London/Amsterdam.

Here is the Berlin Pit Stop location:  Note that it was not Christmastime when the Streetview shot was taken!

Joachimstaler Platz  Streetview Link

I hope this pitstop is a prelude to a leg at the Santa Claus Village in Finland.
I think of that, too since its already Christmas right now and only few remaining legs left and that few remaining legs might probably be a Christmas and New Year's Day theme.  After Berlin and probably Finland they might also go to these place:

1) Galve goat in Galve, Sweden which it was a traditional to that city for erecting a giant goat during Christmas for almost 50 years: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%A4vle_goat

2) A visit to Scotland where a Scottish poet, Robert Burns wrote a famous song during a New Year's Day celebration: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Burns
If your thinking Scotland and Christmas/New Years Day theme it's probably more likely to be Edinburgh with the Hogmany Street party hosting 80 thousand people in the middle of the city and the Loony Dook in the Firth of Forth on New Years day. Plus you have the Castle, Grayfriers Bobby, Artuhur's Seat, Scottish Parliment, lots of supposedly haunted streets under the city and the Zoo.

May have to take a wonder into the city tonight just to see if there are any signs of the race.

Can`t believe they go to Berlin, without going to Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and Alexanderplatz!!!!

Could be right, we know they were spotted in cars, so could have driven across to the west coast of Scotland, then got a ferry across to Belfast from either Cairnryan or Troon.

If they were near the docks, could have had something to do with the Titanic as it's 100 years since the voyage and it was built there.

Probably not, Shannon only connects to JFK and Newark.

Pure spec,

for whatever reason, if edinburgh turns out to be our TAR route, then there might be some sort of connection on why the pit stop is at berlin christmas market...

maybe it's the clue to their next destination, because in Edinburgh, there is also a German Christmas Market happening too!!  :ascared

weihnachtsmarkt : Berlin Christmas Market (Alexanderplatz)

weihnachtsmarkt : German Christmas Market (Edinburgh, United Kingdom)

and if teams were driving, there's a possibility for 3hrs30mins drive to the Loch Ness lake.... maybe pit stop  :cmas19

from :MC: to I'm The King of The World!!!  :hearts:  Yup, and there's one place in Belfast that have a museum dedicated to that ship: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanic_Belfast  And probably the 4 remaining teams will have a moment of silence there in commemoration to the victims of the sinking of Titanic that happened a hundred years ago before they'll resume their leg. :cmas16

Might be Hanoi/or Botswana were one leg
I do believe there are 2 legs in Botswana, or they went to Zambia/Namibia after that.  So, these might be my speculations for the TAR 22 legs:

Leg 1: Los Angeles to Tahiti
Leg 2: Tahiti to Bora Bora
Leg 3: Bora Bora to Queenstown, New Zealand
Leg 4: Queenstown, New Zealand to Bali, Indonesia
Leg 5: Bali, Indonesia to Hanoi, Vietnam
Leg 6: Hanoi, Vietnam to Botswana
Leg 7: Botswana/Namibia/Zambia
Leg 8: Botswana/Namibia/Zambia to Jungfrau, Switzerland
Leg 9: Jungfrau, Switzerland to Berlin, Germany
Leg 10: Berlin, Germany to Edinburgh, Scotland
Leg 11: Edinburgh, Scotland to Belfast, NI
Leg 12: Belfast, NI to Boston or Washington DC

And sadly there's no new country that'll visit for TAR 22, and even my country, Philippines didn't visit as well just like the previous season.  And that's sucks!!! (:;)

It's possible that they did a task in Edinburgh, then move to Belfast to continue racing.like TAR20 Leg11 in Japan.
I still think Hanoi will have 2 legs.

Pure Spec, but if Northern Ireland is true, I wouldn't be surprised to see some type of Golf detour or road block. For such a small country, its amazing how good some of the golfers they produce are. Just like TAR visiting Rafa Nadal's tennis courts in Spain, I think we might see something similar with the home town of Rory McIlroy. Its not like there is an incredible amount of things Northern Ireland is more well known for.

Besides, how cool would it be for a clue to say head to Hollywood for the contestants to think they are headed back to the United States instead to later find out that Hollywood is a town in Northern Ireland.

Just a thought on a possible roadblock or detour.

Botswana was visited in season 1, leg 2 as one half of a detour. It was during that part of that leg after teams left Songwe Village and before teams went back to Johannesburg to get flights to Paris.

Probably not, Shannon only connects to JFK and Newark.

Does Belfast have direct flights to usa?

The only direct flights are to Newark on United (connect to anywhere from EWR) and seasonal service to Orlando-Sanford on Monarch.  The other airport in Belfast is George Best Belfast City Airport, which has flights to connect thru Heathrow and Gatwick to the US from there.
