Here is the Berlin Pit Stop location:  Note that it was not Christmastime when the Streetview shot was taken!

Joachimstaler Platz  Streetview Link

I hope this pitstop is a prelude to a leg at the Santa Claus Village in Finland.
I think of that, too since its already Christmas right now and only few remaining legs left and that few remaining legs might probably be a Christmas and New Year's Day theme.  After Berlin and probably Finland they might also go to these place:

1) Galve goat in Galve, Sweden which it was a traditional to that city for erecting a giant goat during Christmas for almost 50 years: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%A4vle_goat

2) A visit to Scotland where a Scottish poet, Robert Burns wrote a famous song during a New Year's Day celebration: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Burns

So this is what we have so far it appears.

1. French Polynesia
2. French Polynesia
3. New Zealand
4. Indonesia
5. Vietnam
6. Vietnam
7. Botswana
8. ???
9. Switzerland
10. Germany
11. ???
12. USA (obviously)

Theories I have for legs 8 and eventually 11:
a. Second leg in Botswana, other country in Europe
b. leg in South Africa/Namibia, second leg in Germany (i hope  :hrt:)

Here is my guess:

Leg   Country
1   French Polynesia
2   French Polynesia
3   New Zealand
4   Indonesia
5   Vietnam
6   Vietnam
7   Botswana
8   Botswana
9   Switzerland & Germany
10   Gibraltar
11   London England
12   USA

It's not very likely for London to be visited again because of the season 7 and season 17 surrounding areas route. My theory is leg 11 will take place in Scotland agreeing with topaz, the last time teams visited Scottie was in TAR3 after reading the route on Wikipedia and it was only in Stonehaven, barely any Aberdeen except for transportation services. There's so much more of Scotland to uncover.

As for the mystery Botswana? leg, very likely as there was barely any information about the 8th leg. If it went to Switzerland, at least one person would have social networked about a sighting in a total of three to five days than a one leg visit. Rural leg habits.

But they went to Athens after the Olympics, and to Beijing after the Olympics too; so there's a very good chance that they continue the pattern with London.

  Looks like racers in Berlin are running past a store with "Global Blue" Tax Free shoping. (note flag)

Here's a link to Global Blue web site (it has a store finder).  Good luck searching.   :lol3:

Its near Alexendraplatz so would that narrow it down?

  saw a "WMF" in the store window, so did a Global Blue search in the Alexanderplatz area and came up with two shops close by.  Who the hell knows if this has anything to do with anything....   :lol3:  :duno:  :groan:

Edited to add: According to new data in the "Sightings thread". it appears that the racers were near the WMF store on Karl-Liebknecht Strasse.  (HA! got it even without the additional info!  Way to go, me!)

If your thinking Scotland and Christmas/New Years Day theme it's probably more likely to be Edinburgh with the Hogmany Street party hosting 80 thousand people in the middle of the city and the Loony Dook in the Firth of Forth on New Years day. Plus you have the Castle, Grayfriers Bobby, Artuhur's Seat, Scottish Parliment, lots of supposedly haunted streets under the city and the Zoo.

May have to take a wonder into the city tonight just to see if there are any signs of the race.

If what is to be believed about Edinburgh is true, then it is going to be absolutely AMAZING! It's such a pretty city, especially at Winter!

It must be someone doing it for her. Even if her team was eliminated from the race, they wouldn't let her back on social media or the internet until the race has ended.

This was in the papers today:

John Brunton of Toronto-based Insight Productions.

Brunton was talking to the Star from “somewhere in the world” while on secret location with the current season of the U.S. Amazing Race.

After the project was green-lighted by CTV programming president Phil King last Friday, Brunton hopped on a plane on Saturday to be on location for the finale of the American show.

“I wanted to see how the heck they operate this thing. I’ve never seen a show with so many moving parts and so much unpredictability,” said Brunton, at times shouting over the noise from what was obviously a busy street.

“You have no idea what’s going to happen or what the timing is, what the weather is, who’s going to get lost.”

Brunton said he’d already been on seven locations. We momentarily lost contact after he had to avoid bumping into one of four remaining teams who were running toward him. He ducked into a quiet alleyway to hear his phone.
