BEST ALL-MALE WINNING TEAM EVER!!!!!! :conf: :conf: :conf: :conf: :conf: :conf: :conf: :conf: :conf: :conf: (although that's not saying much since I absolutely despised every all-male winning team on TAR and TARAus up until now )

I wish Michelle & Jo came second! They so deserved to finish ahead of Paul & Steve! :( This was like a replay of the TAR20 finale with the awesome team (Michelle & Jo and Brenchel) overtaking the abhorrent villain team (Paul & Steve and Art & JJ) at the second last task and then getting passed back at the last task. :(

But all that matters is that we have amazing winners! :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

And Paul, Michelle (or Jo) wasn't ventilating at you. She was venting.  :lol3:

Yes, I kept noticing him saying 'ventilating' as well. Putting together 'ventilating' + repeatedly failing at one of the easiest memory tasks in TAR history (not the easiest for sure, but still pretty easy) + hammering the wrong part of the ice in Canada makes me seriously question whether or not this guy has 'an IQ that places him in the Top 2% of Australia'... :duno: :res:

If your going to try and correct someone, at least be accurate in your correction. According to the dictionary on my Mac, 'Ventilating' is to discuss or examine an opinion, issue or complaint in public...

So all of your corrections are incorrect. Nice try.
Jet and Cord are still the best!!! Bring them back!

When I had the lucky opportunity to meet Jo (it was around the time after Episode 6) she did ask me if I liked Paul. Of course I said no, but she did ramble for a bit about how much he frustrated her and she and Michelle wanted him out of the race. But she wasn't speaking that harshly about him as she was last night. What they said last night was very harsh, but I would support the twins over Paul and Steve any day

I think the team's true colours really started showing in this last episode.

Shane & Andrew - kind-hearted & patient.
Paul & Steve - competitive but fair
Michelle & Jo - competitive but emotional

I was pretty disgusted by Michelle & Jo towards the last 20 minutes of the episode. Tensions were running high, but their hate for Paul was so unwarranted. Paul ended up looking a lot better and the bigger person this episode.

Sad Paul got so much hate this series, I genuinely think he's a good person and a good competitor. Just wish people didn't see them in such a biased light. Aside from Paul being cocky (which i'm sure he was exaggerating a bit, I just don't think he was being serious), they never did anything to any of the teams.

Loved Shane and Andrew's approach to the children in China, it was so adorable.

That being said, they were my final 3 based on the little segments they got in the first episode. Shane & Andrew were kind of a surprise for me because Sticky & Sam, Michelle & Jo and Paul & Steve were so strong throughout the race.

Congrats to Shandrew for their win.  )-**

Yes, they were patient all right - getting a good map of Brisbane upon arrrival is a good thing as they were the 1st to reach Boggo Gaol (albeit an illegal U-turn!), and may have helped in getting to the air field.

I think Andrew was the winning card of the team and a silent one, at that!

I see Paul being a better person as the race progresses - I kinda like him and see him as a normal person - maybe he hyped it up a lot at the start of the race - but his promise to be a good person is indeed great!

Paul HAS done well in his other memory challenge roadblocks and the other 2 teams knew it was his strength. To their defence, they went up to the very first ice block and were too focused on that one. Maybe not the smartest thing they've done on this race, but it is unfair to discredit him based on his last roadblock.. granted it was the most crucial one.

Speaking of dismal, that was pretty much my definition of Jo's behaviour in the jail cell.

Shandrew won! Yes! I am so happy right now :D! They totally deserved it, they were my favorite team ;)

But about the episode.

I don't know how, but Aussies made another awesome finale. Americans - watch and learn, and hopefully you will stop giving us crap, like in last 3 seasons. I really like the "Not only the Home country in the finale" conception. Parts in China were totally awesome, they showed us the beauty of the country, but the tasks in Australia were interesting.

They were simple, they were repeated from last season, but considering that this was a finale they were a perfect match. 1 mistake on the "how do you know your buddy tasks" is ok, two also ok, but when you are mistake for the 5th or the 10th time you are getting desperate for answers, and also when you are wanting to outrun somebody you are getting confused <- and this episode showed it to us perfectly. The memory task was pretty easy, shame that there was only 5 questions, it could have been more.

I laughed so hard when one of the twins jumped on Paul - dude is standing there, chilling, trying to stay calm and she is screaming all over him! That was so irrationally hilarious! Still i did not liked the twins, shame that Joseph and Grace did not qualify.

Oh and about the host - Grant Bowler definately improved in that role, he talked with contestants, he cheered the up when t was necessary, he was also awesome at the finish mat. He is a very good host and i hope that he'll be hosting every TARAus season that it'll ever be made.

Another perfect season, awesome route some new countries [Cuba!], hope that Aussies will make another great season. Joseph&Grace, Shane&Andrew, Paul&Steve[i hate them but they were awesome competitors] for the All Stars.

Such a great cast means All Stars from this is so tough to pick.  I'm not sure winners should be in All Stars (they won the money already), but I would like the 4th, 3rd and 2nd place teams on it.  I guess with the edit Lucy and Emilia got they are likely to be on it if available though.  At present though the channel only seems to have agreed on a third season.

Grant Bowler has improved quite a lot since the earliest appearance I saw by him (on the first season of The Mole), though I still think when he is describing a location he can sound a bit stiff.  Not bad though.

Confining people to a prison cell was a clever idea in a way, and putting people next to each other who didn't like each other that much sparked a bit a drama.

I think they could have had the how well do you know your team member task after the memory task.

I'm jealous of you zodiac6573. :D

Paul is a great person, that's how I feel after watching the whole season.
From hating him and wanting him & Steve to be eliminated at the beginning to supporting them all the way til the end, that was an interesting change for me, I didn't have such kind of experience ever through the entire time of watching reality shows.

He really changed my thoughts. I did feel emotional when I heard his last words on last night's finale.
Yes he's a bit cocky sometime, but that didn't hurt anybody.

The season was great tho I'm sad to see that both Paul&Stave and Michelle&Jo were defeated by the cops. I can't wait to see an all stars season of TAR AU!

PAUL&STEVE, MICHELLE&JO, LUCY&EMILIA SHOULD BE INVITED! I want to see the rivalry again!

I am more than happy with the winners but so shocked because they were never my pick to make the final 3 let along win! Paul became less like the villain towards the end and I dare say it, but Michelle & Jo didn't come off as antagonists towards Paul but just really whiny and annoying. The placement order, the route, challenges, casting this season were such an upgrade from last season, yet it drew in less views and ratings so hopefully 7 steps it up next season or perhaps tries to cast more 'real' teams rather focusing on gimmicks like Alpha Males, Hippies with aura spray, Botox with hunners and Twin Cheerleaders with hair extensions.

Compared with the recent 5 to 6 seasons of the U.S. version, I think the casting strategy of the Aus ver is definitely much better, the combination and chemistry between teams were great. I would rather see them casting such kind of interesting teams than so-called "real' teams (it reminds me the boring dumb cast of Glass House - what a lame show)

I like characters on reality shows.  I don't think there were that many gimmicks on this anyway, the hairspraying hippies and Lucy and Emilia (with their own music and the editing concentrating on them just like with Mark and Bopper) were a bit gimmicky, but otherwise I thought there was enough realness.

The cast was great this year and one of the best i've seen in years. I liked Michelle & Jo too, but towards the end of the race I was getting tired of hearing them bicker, complain and shriek.

Great outcome, great cast and I LOVED the route for this season.

You heard this first from me: It will be ARAus8, ARAus9 or ARAus10 before Amazing Race Australia has an All-Star season. So everyone needs to calm down and stop putting forth their choices for it until it is announced. There will be many good new teams for consideration before it is time to actually make suggestions.

One of the things I liked the most was the "know your partner task". It was rather ironic to see a team of two co-workers who don't know each other well enough, beat a team of twins, although props to Michelle for figuring out that Jo didn't "know what envy means"
The story so far:

This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

Well yeah I'm not complaining about the casting by any means at all I think this season had one of the best casts in any race series so far (I am not even going to compare it to the recent US series) but I don't like how Channel 7 promoted the race by focusing on the gimmicky teams (we never even had a preview of Lucy & Emilia before this season started, who were arguably the best team) and even on their gimmicks when they had so much more to offer (underneath Sarah's hunners and ridiculous race attire she was still pretty entertaining and actually came across very smart, competitive and strategic).
Aussie audiences are very different to American audiences in terms of the types of characters we enjoy watching and if you ask me this is why this season didn't rate as well as last season, because the team's gimmicks were promoted incorrectly before the season started as I don't really recall anything of the sort from season 1 and we just enjoyed seeing the racers, their personalities and their reactions to experiencing the race , and also because of 7's horrible scheduling. I actually think that if the race had continued to be aired during the Olympic period it may have fared even better than it did by showing the last 3 episodes in a row against the new Big Brother.
Sorry this turned into a rant but what I'm trying to say is pretty much: this season was one of the best ever but it was just really underrated by Aussie audiences and I just hope 7 look at the demographics and tailor season 3 accordingly so that it does rate much better.

TAR AUS 2 was definitely better than TAR AUS 1. Better cast, more drama between the teams, a real dominant force that everyone hated, much better locations, and the finale was a lot better. Plus, the idea to have China be the second to last leg was pure genius. I remember China being the second to last leg in TAR 14 and 16. I remember how tense those final legs got once the race got to China. I would have liked China to be two legs instead of Canada, but whenever China is used its really a waste to use it anywhere else but the second to last leg because China is the hardest leg and the second to last leg is always the most intense besides the last leg.

I remember watching the TAR AUS 1 finale and thinking the final challenge is just based on your geography skills, it had nothing to do with anything that was done on certain legs of the race. This finale was a lot better.

I rooted for Paul and Steve all season, I really didn't understand the hatred by Michelle and Jo, but especially Jo. It seemed to me that the hate came just from the simple fact that they could never beat Paul and Steve at anything they tried. With that said, I think the true colors came out at the end. Paul took the high road and really did nothing to upset Jo while Jo made herself look like a fool. I thought that the cops were not that deserving of a winning team. I think Paul and Steve and the twins were both more deserving, but thats the way it goes, you get into the final leg and you just need to have one good leg no matter how you placed in the other legs of the race.

I realize that a lot of people thought Paul was arrogant and full of himself, but he was by far the best racer on this season and definitely in the brief history of TAR AUS and probably top five when you put all the TAR franchises around the world together. Paul reminded me a lot of Collin from Season Five. Maybe Collin wasn't as hated as Paul, but he had the same type of attitude. He basically made it his personal mission to win TAR, unfortunately it didn't happen, Collin and Christie got second place, but the fear factor that Paul and Collin put in other contestants when they were doing a challenge is very similar and unmatched by any contestants that I can think of.

Overall, it was a great season. I actually enjoy TAR AUS more than the american version even as an American. I find the teams WAY more interesting. I wish they ran two seasons a year rather than one, they probably will run two seasons eventually once the popularity of the show picks up. Season 2 was a great season and I can't wait until Season 3.

Was it just me or was the alliance between the twins and the cops not much of an alliance? After all, the twins brushed the cops off when  they needed help the most. I was surprised both of the teams were still considering themselves an alliance during that second to last challenge during the finale.
