Episode description from the TV guide:

In the grand finale, the three remaining teams will race across two continents in the quest to cross the finish line first. Language difficulties trip up teams in the beautiful southern Chinese countryside. Before flying home, one team makes a potentially disastrous decision. As teams return home to Australia, tensions flare between two rivals - but only one team will walk away with the $250,000.

We're 99.9% sure the race finished somewhere on Fraser Island, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Finish Line was on a beach

The only rivals I can think of are:

Paul & Steve VS Joseph & Grace
Michelle & Jo VS Paul & Steve

That basically confirms Paul & Steve in the Final 3  :(

I might not watch this final episode if either the cheerleaders or the Italian sisters didn't won the grand prize of A$250,000. :gaah:

I have a feeling Joseph and Grace might win. I'd be happy if they do, but it seems some other viewers and teams don't want them to.

Grace said in an interview that she's probably Joseph's 'favourite sister now'. In addition, I've heard other racers have criticised Grace's behaviour on social media sites. They wouldn't be allowed to say which team won, but what if Joseph and Grace won and they are unhappy because they didn't deserve it?

Anyway, I'm fine with any of the teams winning. Even Paul and Steve have grown on me.  :)

Yep. I agree with you
I really am hoping it's Michelle and Jo that win, but  it just seems too good to be true if they did win :'(

Last season, I knew it was Nathan and Tyler that were going to win just before the final episode. I knew it couldn't be Sam and Renae based on the amount of media appearances they made. And after the race they got modelling contracts etc
Nathan and Tyler WERE semi celebrities before the race, and the fact that they weren't making any media appearance during airing was odd, so I knew it was them.

And the same with this season. Michelle and Jo have done lots of media appearances, they got an article about fitness training in a magazine etc
I really don't think Paul and Steve will win because their edit has been way too negative for a winner.
What sticks out about Joseph and Grace is that they have made NO media appearances (except Grace at the TAR screening), they have gotten a very neutral edit, if you think about it all they've had is positive edit besides the Paul & Steve clash and stealing James & Sarah's taxi

I was very annoyed with Joseph & Grace from Episode 5-7, before that I really liked them and after they're fine. I won't mind seeing them win. The only teams that have been criticising Grace as far as I know are the Melbourne teams (except the Cops).
So yes I am betting that Groseph will take home the big prize, but it's a shame because I was really hoping for Michelle and Jo.

As for Lemilia and the Cops, I think the sisters will finish in 5th place and the Cops will take home the memorable '4th place' title.

That leaves us with the Final 3, I think that twins will lose their chance early and make some sort of huge blunder, and the two-team race is between Paul & Steve and Joseph & Grace. I'm fine with the siblings winning, as long as they don't piss me off again  :)

BTW, here are the remaining teams averages AFTER Leg 9 (teams listed in order of highest to lowest average):

1. Michelle & Jo: 3.1
2. Paul & Steve: 3.4
3. Shane & Andrew: 4.8
4. Joseph & Grace: 5.3
5. Lucy & Emilia: 7.8

Racers from past TAR seasons have criticized teams that have not won in the past either. I think Grace might be referring to the fact they did the race together and had the experience of doing it together which makes her his favorite sister.

Either way, time will tell! I don't really get a winning vibe from the siblings team and would prefer every other team still in the race to win over them.

Take this with a grain of salt but at the beginning before the season aired I posted a comment on Joseph and Grace's fan page underneath the opening titles they posted where Joseph and Grace were in the same position as Nathan & Tyler and I alluded to the fact that perhaps they're in a winning position. Now the interesting thing is that Joseph (on his personal facebook account) liked my comment instantly but soon after 'unliked' almost as if he had acted impulsively.

Racers are VERY cautious with what they say. After TAR21 wrapped filming one of the racers made a tweet which looked to be a HUGE spoiler. I re-tweeted it on purpose and BAM it disappeared. But that's another story

I also noticed a long time ago that Nathan & Tyler and Joey & Grace had the same intro spot, you never know  :duno:

Also notice Nathan & Tyler came 6th on the first Leg and so did Joey & Grace? But that could just be a coincidence

AND if you are one of those superstitious people who follow the TAR curses, you will see that Joseph & Grace are most likely the winners:

- If you come 5th, 7th or 10th in the first Leg, you won't win the race (Michelle and Jo, Paul and Steve)
- If you come 5th in the 5th Leg, you won't win the race (Shane and Andrew)
- If you are one of the most legendary teams ever and everybody loves you, you sadly will not win the race (Lucy and Emilia)  :'(

That leaves us yet again with Joseph and Grace...

Bringing my speculated boot order back up from June:
11. Kym & Donna
10. Adam & Dane
9. Sue & Teresa
8. Ross & Tarryn
7. Sticky & Sam
6. James & Sarah
5. Lucy & Emilia
4. Shane & Andrew
3. Michelle & Jo
2. Paul & Steve
1. Joseph & Grace
And since then I've stuck with the same list, and I've been very close

I noticed Grace has a Facebook page called Fly With Grace, showing her adventures flying to different parts of the world.

Either she's really rich or somebody crossed a certain finish line first.

It's funny, because in some episodes, it plays up the rivalry between the cheerleaders and Paul & Steve (e.g. episode 2, episode 5, episode 6, episode 11) whereas other episodes played up the rivalry between the cops and Paul & Steve (e.g. episode 9, episode 10) so that makes it rather interesting...

Looking at The Amazing Race Australia FB page, it seems as though all the fans are happy with the cops or twins winning (including me), so that's a 66% chance an awesome team will win this season. I like those odds!

Quote
Jail date, then treasure for Amazing Race finalists

A STINT locked up in Boggo Road Jail and digging for a treasure chest in the sands of Fraser Island await the three finalists in tonight's Amazing Race Australia finale.

After a 65,000km race that has criss-crossed four continents, cheerleading twins Jo and Michelle, police officers Shane and Andrew, and workmates Paul and Steve, complete their run in Queensland. Filmed earlier this year, the three teams arrived at Brisbane International Airport before being sent to a park under the Story Bridge for their first clue.

In a race to Boggo Road - or, as the twins insist "Bo Go" - all end up heading the wrong way back across the bridge, except for the police officers who perform a U-turn mid-bridge. "Safely," adds Shane.

A challenge at the jail sees them leave for Fraser Island to search for $250,000 in cash in the sands of Lake McKenzie and the finishing line.

Channel 7 has renewed the series for a third season.

'Amazing Race' to end at Fraser Island

FRASER Island is the beautiful backdrop for the high-stakes race to the finish line in tonight's grand final of The Amazing Race Australia.

In the epic final leg of the round-the-world race, the final three teams will travel from China to Brisbane, where they will race through the city before hopping on sea planes to land on Fraser Island's picturesque 75 Mile Beach.

Navigating the island's sand roads could prove difficult for cheerleading twins Michelle and Jo, who have struggled with driving manual cars throughout the race.

The final leg once again sees tempers flare in the fierce rivalry between Michelle and Jo and work mates Paul and Steve.

But Victorian coppers Shane and Andrew are still very much in the running for the $250,000 grand prize.

The Amazing Race Australia grand final airs tonight at 7.30pm on Seven.

I've been to Fraser Island and I know for a fact that 4WDriving there is really hard!

That leaves us with the Final 3, I think that twins will lose their chance early and make some sort of huge blunder

This season had a great cast and I liked the winners too.  I actually liked the bickering of the twins and Paul and Steve as it added a bit more spice towards the end.  I know they re-used tasks from earlier seasons but they were good tasks.  I liked the digging up of the money and running with it to the finish.  I thought all the final 4 were great in a way, but happy Paul and Steve didn't win, not just for Paul's arrogance but because the bandwagoners who supported them as they thought they would win where so wrong lol.

I'm not sure if it was just me but I felt like the finale was designed for a very close finish (TAR2 style)
The tasks in China were fine, I didn't really care as long as all teams were on a bunched flight to Brisbane
What bugged me was the tasks in Australia. The think at the jail was ALRIGHT, it is a good challenge for a finale but we've already seen it!
The plane ride to Fraser Island was fantastic, and I think Fraser Island was a great place to finish!
THE MEMORY TASK! WHY! Out of ALL the memory tasks they could've copied from other seasons they designed such an easy one!  :groan:
The flag task last year was good for the first season, but this one should've been much better! The TAR14 memory challenge would've been perfect for Fraser Island!
And the worst challenge of all, the treasure chest. Not only boring to watch but just such a LAME task! If a challenge can be done in an area the size of your living room, then it's NOT good challenge!

I am glad they took our advice and avoided going with luck-based challenges  :)

Final 3 averages AFTER the race:

1st Shane and Andrew - 4.1
2nd Paul and Steve - 3.3
3rd Michelle and Jo - 2.9

Glad I didn't see it then, I don't see the appeal of getting spoiled with the result before you see it.

THE MEMORY TASK! WHY! Out of ALL the memory tasks they could've copied from other seasons they designed such an easy one!  :groan:

I'm not sure it was all that easy. Paul & Steve arrived at the task before the cops were done. The cops then completed the task and left for the treasure chest digging where they had time to locate and dig up the chest before any other team arrived. So either the chest task was much quicker than it seemed, or the other teams took a really long time with the memory task.

Also did anybody else notice that they gave the twins a better shovel after Paul & Steve had left.

No I didn't notice the shovel.  :D

A couple of things I did notice, Paul seemed to take a lot of the rings out to the posts whereas the twin didn't, she seemed to go back and forth with one ring at a time.  That's what it looked like in the editing anyway.

Also I noticed that at the finish mat they had all the racers lined up on one side, normally they seem to have them either side.  Also the second and third placers joined the line at the end once they had finished.
