Episode 20.08 - Let Them Drink Their Haterade

I think it's a good choice.

For history's sake, here are TAR's previous Emmy submissions:

2003: TAR3 Episode

Really, any TAR3 episode would've deserved that first Emmy, right?

2004: Episode 4.06 - "I Could Have Never Been Prepared For What I'm Looking At Right Now"

India - Monica & Sheree eliminated; Also the infamous train ep? "Don't touch my boob man or I'll throw you off the train!"

2005: Episode 7.07(?) - "We're Moving Up the Food Chain"

Hour 2 of "I've Been Wanting a Face Lift for a Long Time"

Botswana - Ray & Deana eliminated; Brian & Greg's accident/comeback

2006: Episode 9.08 - "Here Comes the Bedouin"

Oman - BJ & Tyler NEL; Bedouins! Camels!

2007: Episode 10.04 - "I Know Phil, Little Ol' Gorgeous Thing!"

Vietnam - Tom & Terry eliminated; Junks and sampans

2008: Episode 12.08 - "Honestly, They Have Witch Powers or Something!"

India - Kynt & Vyxsin eliminated; Ron & Christina putting up the poster and stepping on flimsy crates! Kynt & Vyxsin yoga Speed Bump.

2009: Episode 14.01 - "Don't Let a Cheese Hit Me"

Switzerland - Preston & Jennifer eliminated; Premiere; Cheese; Margie & Luke win leg

2010: Episode 16.05 -  "I Think We're Fighting the Germans, Right?"

France - Joe & Heidi eliminated; WWI simulation

2011: Episode 18.07 - "You Don't Get Paid Unless You Win"

India - Ron & Christina eliminated  :'( ; Funeral spires... India.

2012: Episode 20.08 - "Let Them Drink Their Haterade"

Tanzania - Nary & Jamie eliminated; Safari, Mark & Bopper win

I would personally picked either one of the India legs, or the Paraguay leg.

And LOL at no one of the Final Five being on the cover of the DVD.

it' a horrible choise....i won't be surprised if TAR looses this year! the u-turn did nothing....the detours were too easy to perform and the roadblock las lame. I'm sorry, i LOVE the show but i do not agree with this.! Episode 3 or the finale would've benn better choices

It may not be the best choice, but it does have a lot going for it. It was one of the few times in TAR20 the teams were reasonably bunched together, some suspense with Nary & Jamie almost catching up to Vanessa & Ralph, Brenchel drama, U-Turn drama, a Mark & Bopper inspirational win and what probably put it over the edge in TAR/CBS' mind, the safari at the start of the leg... in HD!

It's certainly not as bad as the TAR16 submission. And TAR's won with less, other than the bedouins and camels from TAR9, I can't remember a thing from either TAR9 or TAR10 episode. 2003-2005 and 2008's submissions were excellent though.

That leg was okay. Everything was good except for the Fairy Tale Detour. I don't know how that relates to Germany and it didn't seem memorable. I also do not like how there was a witch that was scripted and didn't seem like a real person. In general, the leg wasn't quite as memorable.

I would'be picked Episode 3 no doubt. However I think the location of the episode matters as well, and they didn't really show much of Asuncion to us :(
My second choice would be Episode 9, the challenges were decent and the editing was great.

But CBS' choice isn't bad. I think that safari drive through the crater might be the winner!

That was probably a main factor in making that episode an Emmy Nominee.

Remember, the show is in HD now, and picking that episode with the usual herculean effort required to film TAR to begin with, and they're aiming for more than just the "Outstanding Reality Competition" Emmy; and can you blame them?

This leg would've been my second/third choice behind Leg 3 and maybe Leg 4. :)

The Emmy Nominee would be 4th on my list.

My choices:
1) Leg 3 » Absolutely Perfect! :hearts:
2) Leg 9 » Fantastic Roadblock! Mark Persevering.
3) Leg 10 » Elephant Detour! Classic TAR Fast Forward!
4) Leg 8 » African Safari!

Leg 3 was hands down the best episode of the season (and of all TAR history IMO) BUT it did not really showcase the city of Asuncion, which is a shame

I think they nominate the episodes which showcase the location the best. I would've picked between Leg 4, 5 and 8
Leg 4 was pretty good except I can't stand the Roadblock!
Leg 5 showcased the castles brilliantly, most of the challenges were more fun than challenging

If you think about it, Leg 8 is the best choice of the three. It showcased Tanzania very well, from the crater to the rural community then the bee farm. The drive through the crater was fantastic footage (and is what will probably help win the Emmy). The 'Water Supply' was good insight into the community, I did not know that's what people had to do for water  :( And the bee challenge was cool to see. Plus Mark and Bopper winning the Leg!

And this is ONE of my favourite BB breakdowns of the season

Leg 4? Really?

I didn't thought it was memorable and I haven't seen anything from Italy.

Yeah, I loved that leg, actually. (Maybe I only loved it because it was full of constant Brenchel meltdowns  but I loved the salami Detour!) :hearts:

Although I think the India legs this season would have been good choices too, as they were some of the better India legs we've had.

Was Leg 4 Torino? The progression of Rachel killing it at the Road Block then having a meltdown with salami was great to watch.  :hearts:

Paraguay's leg was the strongest and took us back to the classic AMAZING RACE..! it was incredible....the detours were too hard to finish, the roadblock was really really difficult to perform, the penalty, the express pass was used and every single team fight against each other to get to the mat, specially vanessa/ralph & elliot/andrew... that was really close and nail biting towards the end...ANYWAYS, good luck TAR...how u win and i hope WRP stops by here again so they can have another stellar leg again!

Leg 3 was hands down the most exciting episode but the leg they chose in Africa was what made "Amazing Race" amazing. I loved the safari animals as well and I also liked it that TAR gave all the teams some time to reflect upon their ride through with the animals running all around them in the wild.

With the Speedbump, Mark and Bopper finally winning the leg, the U-TURN, interesting Detour choices (although the Water one was awkward and random), Roadblock (which seemed really hard but we all know it's easy) and a really not-to-bad Speedbump. Plus Vanessa and Ralph nearly got eliminated...

I would have picked this episode as well. It was like the highlight of the season... loved every bit of African Safari moment. :)

That's an odd choice for them to make. I would have selected Leg 5 (snow, beards, gnome curling, castles, team placement switching) Leg 9 (awesome tasks all around, epic roadblock, Mopper drama) or the finale. Why are they always afraid to pick the finale? This one was amazing with drama, tasks, and scenery.
Physics alone is not enough.

Remember that this has to be a "stand alone" episode. It is going out to people who won't have seen or know what has gone before...so the story has to to speak for itself.
