Episode 8 recap.
Leg 8 starts in South African Republic.
1st clue: fly to Cape Town, you'll find the next clue as soon as you arrive.
All teams were on the same flight.
Next clue: get up to the mountain
then take a picture of Cape of good hope and trade it for a postcard (which must be sent to Kiev) and for the next clue.
However you may get up the mountain only using cableway. Each cabin could transfer only 2 teams at a time. + the cableway was available since 7am only:
1st cabin (7am): Ihor and Vasil, Boobs
2nd cabin (7.20am): Alexey and Olena, Father and Son.
3rd cabin (7.40am): Doctors
Standings after sending the postcards:
1st Boobs
2nd Ihor and Vasil
3rd Alexey and Olena
4th Father and son
Last: Doctors
Roadblock: make a skydive
Boobs had some difficulties with finding an airport before the roadblock, and they asked a local to take a ride with them, however rules state that your team can not consist of 3 or more people, which meant Boobs broke the rules.
Standings after a roadblock:
1st Boobs (not knowing they'll have penalty)
2nd Father and son
3rd Ihor and Vasil
4th Olena and Alexey
Last: Doctors
Next clue: Teams had to go to a local park and cook a meal for a little penguin. The meal consists of 20 ingredients.
Standings after feeding:
1st Boobs (still having no clue about being penalized later)
2nd Ihor and Vasil
3rd Father and son
4th Doctors
Last: Alexey and Olena
Next clue: find "omega" store in a particular district and receive the next clue.
Next clue: shave heads of 2 locals in order to receive the next clue.
Standings after shaving:
1st Boobs
2nd Father and son
3rd Ihor and Vasil
4th Doctors
Last: Alexey and Olena
Next clue: go to local market and find dancers in red clothes
Standings after finding the dancers:
1st Boobs (still breaking the rule traveling with a local)
2nd Father and Son
3rd Ihor and Vasil
4th Alexey and Olena
Last: Doctors
Detour: glimmer or taste
Glimmer: find the 1st diamond ever discovered in south african republic among hundreds of other diamonds in the museum.
Taste: cook a traditional local food.
Standings after detour (all teams picked glimmer):
1st Boobs
2nd Father and Son
3rd Ihor and Vasil
4th Alexey and Olena
Last: Doctors
Next clue: go to the finish line (Rhodes Memorial).
Final standings:
1st Boobs (unbelievable: they arrived 1st, received a 1 hour penalty due to known reasons, and still won the leg)
2nd Father and son
3rd Ihor and Vasil
4th Alexey and Olena
Last to arrive: Doctors.
But that was a NEL.
5 teams continue their race around the world.
