Because RiMi weren't come in first last leg, they were told to hand over all their money as a penalty for coming last on a non-elimination leg. They had to massage for some money. All teams wanted RiMi to continue racing, so they gave some money to the cousins, and cousins gave it to RiMi. How nice :luvya:

TQ anhgau. Now I know why RiMi's monies were forfeited! Also thot that the cousins were the only ones 2 donate money to RiMi...  :)

Even Mỹ Trâm of the married couple wanted to quit.

Good for the drama but just a reminder that TAR's one tough of a reality show, maybe just behind Survivors, physically...  :ascared

Detour: Thick Jungle or Thin Jungle
In Thick Jungle, teams had to cycle to A Central Area and find their clue hidden among leaves, branches and vines. Only Châus and co-workers chose this detour. Actors first chose thick jungle then switch cuz they couldn't find anytihng.

Shouldn't it be "Only Châus and co-workers DID NOT chose this detour."?  :)

Ep 5 Recap
Starting time:
#1: Châus 5:51pm
#2: Pro travelers 6pm
#3: Actor 6:23pm
#4: Married couple 6:45pm
#5: Brothers 6:50pm
#6: Athletic couple 7:05pm
#7: Cousins 7:38pm
#8: Co-workers (CWs) 8:40pm

Route Info: Travel by train from Ninh Binh Train Station to Da Nang Train Station, Da Nang. Here, find your next clue at the front area. You have 1,500,000 VND for this leg of the race.
The ticket counter wouldn't open till 8:30pm so all teams left on the same train at 9pm. The ticket prize was 705,000 VND, so each team paid 1,410,000 VND for tickets. They only had a little money for this leg, so no one bought food. They were so hungry and had to eat imaginary chicken rice on the train :lol3: Teams found their clue in a locomotive in front of Da Nang Railway Station.

Fast Forward: To claim this fast forward, one team had to travel to My Khe Beach and convince a person to let them shave that person's head. No one went for the ff at first, but then the actors decided to go for it. They arrived at the beach at about 2pm and convinced a boy to let them shave his head (smart, guys). The pit stop for this leg was Fusion Maia Resort.

Route Info: Travel by taxi to Ba Na Hills. You have 1,100,000 VND for this leg of the race. Great, more money :yess: Teams reached the clue box in the following order:
#2: Pro travelers (=)
#3: Brothers (+2)
#4: Cousins (+3)
#5: CWs (+3)
#6: Châus (-5)
#7: Married couple (-3)
#8: Athletic couple (-2)

Detour: Finger or Palm
In Finger, teams traveled to a sculpture shop and attempted at making a living statue. One team member had to take off his/her clothes and pretend to be a stone figure while the other team member painted his/her partner's body with white paint. They could only use one finger to paint. Châus, athletic couple chose this detour.
In Palm, teams traveled to Sandy Beach Resort. They had to dig a marked sand area in a beach for a clue buried somewhere 1 meter below the sand here. Teams were required to use nothing but their bare hands. Cousins, pro travelers, CWs, brothers, married couple chose this detour.
Teams completed the detour in the following order:
#2: Brothers (+1) (They dug in the area where the sand was softer, very smart )
#3: Athletic couple (+5)
#4: Châus (+2)
#5: Pro travelers (-3)
#6: Cousins (-2)
#7: CWs (-2)
#8: Married couple (-1)

Route Info: Travel to Da Nang Golf Club. Each team members picked a golf ball to randomly determine their roles as a golfer and a caddy. They could not change their roles during this challenge. The golfer had to successfully hit a ball into hole no. 16 within two strokes to receive the next clue. While this golfer was playing, the caddy had to always carry a heavy golf bag. If, by any reasons, the golf bag was put onto the ground, the golfer had to pause from playing until the caddy pick it up again.
Teams completed this task in the following order:
#2: Brothers (=)
#3: Athletic couple (=)
#4: Châus (=)
#5: Pro travelers (=)
#6: Cousins (=)
#7: CWs (=)
#8: Married couple (=)

Roadblock: Who likes to party?
In this roadblock, one team member had to carry a tray of Sting bottles to a nearby restaurant. Upon reaching this place, they needed to serve random customers with this soft drink in order to exchange for the Race's sticker. Then, they could trade it for their clues. If any teams ran out of Sting, they had to get back to the starting point and refill. Teams completed the roadblock in the following order:
#2: Brothers (=)
#3: Athletic couple (=)
#4: Châus (=)
#5: Pro travelers (=)
#6: Cousins (=)
#7: CWs (=)
#8: Married couple (=)

Route Info: Travel to the next pit stop, Fusion Maia Resort. The last team to check in may be eliminated.
Placing:
#1: Actors (Fast Forward, won 2 nights at the resort)
#2: Brothers (=)
#3: Athletic couple (=)
#4: Châus (=)
#5: Pro travelers (=)
#6: CWs (+1)
#7: Cousins (-1) (came in 6th but received a 30-minute penalty because they didn't pay the taxi fare)
#8: Married couple (=) (Eliminated :duno:)

It's getting harder to predict the top 3 now. On the next ep, teams travel to Hoi An, and SINGLE U-TURN!

It's nice to see other teams cheering the CW's after the CW's managed to get their tickets - the US racers ought to learn from this!  :-[

The imaginary chicken rice was good BUT won't this add to their hungriness?  :groan:

Route Info: Travel by taxi to Ba Na Hills...

Detour: Finger or Palm
In Palm, teams traveled to Sandy Beach Resort. They had to dig a marked sand area in a beach for a clue buried somewhere 1 meter below the sand here. Teams were required to use nothing but their bare hands.

How deep was the clue buried?

What's this "Sting" drink - a local version of coca-cola?  :)

Also, what happened to the Châus' army uniforms? They looked different now...   :) :)

1 meter ~> 3'3''

What's this "Sting" drink - a local version of coca-cola?  :)

No, it's a kind of energy drink from PepsiCo. It has 3 flavors and all very sweet :keeta:

How come the 6th team to arrive at the pit stop was not penalized for not bringing their lantern??  (:;)

This is Richie's take on Vietnamese V American weddings = http://www.tuoitrenews.vn/cmlink/tuoitrenews/lifestyle/richie-vn/not-my-first-vietnamese-wedding-1.77921

Looks like no more "insider" news on TARV from Richie...  :'(

But back to Ep. 7...

Congrats to the cousins - from last in ep. 6 to 1st in ep. 7! They sure did wrestle their way to the top!

Did the brothers pay the unlucky motorcyclist who was knocked down by them? Seems the rickshaws were very hard to maneuver with lots of racers being in one accident after another...  :iok
