@NicoleMessisco

Were walking downtown and witnessed a leg of "The Amazing Race"...awesome

1:48 PM ET

Just a thought - 51st and 5th isn't exactly downtown (though someone visiting might think is was), more like midtown.

If they were at Brooklyn Bridge Park and came across there by ferry or one of the bridges (wouldn't it be great if they walked across the Brooklyn Bridge!), they would have come into Manhattan much further south.

So this tweet could could refer to a sighting in a different area.

It's a nice day and there must be a ton of people out there, surprised not to be hearing more...

Lots of production companies film in NYC......nothing to say that whatever is going on at 51st and 5th has anything to do with us.

 :) just throwing this out there, but does anyone else think that the NYC sightings may be the decoys, with the actual finalist running somewhere else (close by)?  Anyone have any descriptions of the racers in Brooklyn/Manhattan?   :(  OK, carry on!

After the Coney Island tweet I went to see the usual Coney Island live webcams and... "CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC" official sign from the webmasters!

Funny, was just thinking about Coney Island, thought racers could stay in Brooklyn, decoys to Manhattan...

Sighting of Phil at ferry terminal sounds reasonable, however - any chance the whole NYC thing is wrong?

They seem to be trying to look at or count something. Is that the Chippendales?

The other tweeter said they were at the Cyclone (roller coaster)

I've read some conflicting dates, but some say the first roller coaster in the U.S. opened on Coney Island on June 16, 1884.   :tup:

Question to the newyorkers of the forum:  the yellow and red paint in some of the Cyclone's gondolas is normal.  I saw a pic in twitter and that caught my eye.
