I think the bag and high match to up James pretty good, though you are right that Jaymes has a bigger bag.

And who is that  woman  ??

Somebody helping them with directions, maybe.

Is that Nadine & Natalie, Trey & Lexy and one of the Chippendales in that Instagram photo? We need to find this location!

I think it is those teams which means either Abby or the farmers were eliminated in Spain. The blonde is Lexy not Abby because she has Lexy's light blue Nikes.

I think that is a big jump.

If this is leg 11, there should be 4 teams, so one is not seen here. Whether that is the first or last one at the moment of the pic...is unknown.

ALSO, at this stage, there may well be a decoy team involved.

And backpack size may be substantially changed as teams lighten up towards the end....

Haven't they been known to run as many as 3 decoy teams to the end?

I think all those tweeters, that saw the teams today, are all from the same church youth group from West Virgina. One of the girls in the group has the GPS turned on her phone. It gave their location today as Chinon, France....which is not far from Le Mans Nantes........southwest of Paris. And as apskip said.....it is in the Loire Valley.

Could be the Chateau de Chinon Château De Chenonceau

Which brings up the question, where are the camera and sound guys in these shots? Maybe they are decoy teams, and shouldn't be presumed safe at all.

Is it likely to have a shortened Pit Stop like last season?

If that is two decoy teams.......who is the second team. Is it a M/F team or a M/M team. I can't really tell. I does look like the one in front has a pony tail, but also could be something dark in the backgound and just a lucky shot. Could the "second team" be the cameraman and soundman?

I think there's one of the Shangai leg's picture when we can see one of the crew member - I guess is a soundman - with a red backpack; but I'm not sure if it's the same kind the man in the pic carries.

I've thought about it, and it does seem the Sri Lankan sisters are racing still. And if the other teams were taken here at the same time, they should be racing to, as they probably keep the decoys away from the actual racing teams.

I think that assuming that they are all decoys is over thinking a bit. We talk about decoys every season but I can't remember any of the pictures that come up ever turning out to be a decoy team.
Physics alone is not enough.

There is a resort with "TAR-like" activities in Normandie, right in the heart of the area we have been pointed to, called Le Bois-Francs, it is operated by CenterParcs. http://www.centerparcs.fr Can any GPS info lead us here?

The author of the tweet and this photo was nice enough to respond back to me.
The photo was taken at Château de Chenonceau ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau_de_Chenonceau) just west of Tours

From there to here, and here to there,
funny things are everywhere

I think that the teams were headed from Chenonceau to Normandy.

The first tweet from France which mentions the Amazing Race filming was about 6 hours before the Chenonceau tweet, but her last apparent location was Mont Saint Michel.  Of course, our first tweeter may have been somewhere else, even Chenonceau.  But given the route so far, it seemed strange for the second tweet to be coming from several hours south of the last known spot of the first tweeter.  So, I think that first tweeter may have seen Phil doing his stand-ups.

There is a lovely chateau and hot-air balloon museum in Normandy about an hour and a half from Mont Saint Michel called Chateau Balleroy, and a notice on their website roughly translates to "Exceptional closing of chateau Friday, June 15 16h to 14h Monday, June 18. The museum balloons and park remain open." If I am reading twitter times correctly, the first tweet comes shortly after that closure.  Given the time frame of the closure, if they were headed there, I think it is a pit stop.  I doubt they will be there that long, but they may have booked some wiggle room.

Chances are it's closed for a completely unrelated event, but it sure looks like a place the race would use.
