The Amazing Race Serenity Prayer
« on: May 14, 2012, 02:50:38 PM »
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change about The Amazing Race. (bad casting, taxi luck, recycled countries, recycled challenges and all Production decisions I don’t particularity agree with)

The courage to change the things I can. (The attitude with which I watch the show)

And the wisdom to know the difference.

Reminds me of another 'prayer' that would apply here:

We the willing racers
Led by the unknowning taxis
Are doing the Impossible tasks
For the ungrateful.

We have been
doing so much
for so long
with so little
that we are
now qualified to
do anything
with nothing

This thread reminded me of the quote Oswald said in the taxi in Macau of TARAS.

"God, grant me the patience to withstand the things I cannot change... and the intelligence to hide the body of this man, once I'm done killing him." - in reference to his taxi driver.

No, it's better to improve what we have rather than just be passive.  If the public had just accepted some of the worst aspects of earlier seasons, such as begging, it would still be the same now.  The passive attitude reminds me of some homers on American sports teams forums who accept terrible management because they think it makes them more loyal compared to others.
