The sign on the right says Oyodo Kyu-un. It's a delivery company.

The sign on the left says Wakou Biru. Wakou is a Japanese name & biru means building.

Thank goodness there is only one of those in Osaka and it has street view. Here they are.

The host is American actor Arnold Chun. There are probably many Japanese actors who could manage the role, but for some reason they've flown him over twice (nice gig if you can get it) so he could sport an accent and a quizmaster's outfit.
On a different topic, can anyone help with the signs? With any luck we can pinpoint them.

First post but thought I should contribute as I can read the japanese there!

Found where they are!! It helps when you can read the japanese :hoot:

http://maps.google.ie/maps?q=%E3%82%AA%E3%82%AA%E3%83%A8%E3%83%89%E6%80%A5%E9%81%8B%EF%BC%88%E6%A0%AA%EF%BC%89&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=34.705635,135.491381&spn=0.04029,0.084543&sll=34.703871,135.494213&sspn=0.040291,0.084543&hq=%E3%82%AA%E3%82%AA%E3%83%A8%E3%83%89%E6%80%A5%E9%81%8B%EF%BC%88%E6%A0%AA%EF%BC%89&t=m&z=14&layer=c&cbll=34.705408,135.491179&panoid=aqNlApeGrFRtmUX6zot2fA&cbp=12,25.86,,0,4.57

this is definitely the street if you look at the pics.

This is where they are in osaka, 5-2-9 Nakatsu, Kita Ward, Osaka around.

New press pics show Art/JJ on the bullet train to Osaka, Ranessa on a ferry to Miyajima, Brenchel doing Detour A (Sushi Bingo), and Davechel doing Detour B (photographing locals)

Are they going to make them finally go to the Itsukushima Shrine and then take the train all the way to Osaka? ??? Seems impractical.

I guess Davechel has just gotten off the train when they are fighting? Maybe they are trying to get a cab.

Located in the Seto Inland Sea, ten miles (6 km) southwest of the city of Hiroshima, the small island (12 square miles) of Miyajima is a sacred site of both Shintoism and Buddhism.

So this is where Hiroshima makes its appearance!

So it's gonna be Hiroshima (route info) and Osaka (rb & detour) in this leg? Maybe they'll finally visit the floating torii we're always seeing in the intro caps. Prophet is right though, seems impractical.

I guess they won't be visiting a tea house or do a geisha/maiko related task then. How sad.  :'(

Ep 11 & 12

I really wish we could stay longer in the countries we visit, but I've been lucky to have visited most of them before, because I've done a tremendous amount of travel. - Phil Keoghan

The Tanaka sisters were my favorite pre-race team, but I never had any illusions about them getting very far. Let's examine the history of the Amazing Race to see which teams eliminated first MIGHT have been true F3 material  except for their race being cut short. So, is it:

AR1 - Matt/Ana
AR2 - Deidre/Hilary
AR3 - Gina/Sylvia
AR4 - Debra/Steve
AR5 - Dennis/Ericka
AR6 - Avi/Joe
AR7 - Ryan/Chuck
AR8 - Black Family
AR9 - Scott/John
AR10 - Billel/Saeed
AR11 - John Vito/Jill
AR12 - Ari/Staella
AR13 - Arthur/Anita
AR14 - Preston/Jennifer
AR15 - Eric/Lisa
AR16 - Dana/Adrian
AR17 - Ron/Tony
AR18 - Amanda/Kris
AR19 - Ron/Bill
AR20 - Misa/Maiya

My conclusion from looking at these first out teams is that none of the above was potential F3 material who just had bad luck. The one first-out team who I think was best was Amanda/Kris, who had bad luck at the starting line of AR18 and paid the price with a close elimination following a penalty Automatic U-turn.
