I am more interested in, see who gets the quote!!!!

Me too!

My guess is that Vanessa gets it, because Rachel (BB) is the crybaby!
But, I don't know for sure.

Or it could be Ralph telling Vanessa he didn't make Rachel cry , she did . So many possibilities.

We will soon find out who said what!

Now that I have had time to take a close look at our caps for this episode...I am going to speculate that the entire episode takes place with the Ngorogoro Conservation Area, or possibly even within the crater.

All of the caps are geared towards the crater and the Maasai...who have grazing rights and homes within the crater.

If you want to see more, try some of these videos from visits to Maasai camps:

http://youtu.be/BfGtMGpWGD8

http://youtu.be/gDiET8F-c7w

http://youtu.be/KBv2WSpEV2c

See anyone familiar??

Hoping for a charitable task here... something for the children, since we were deprived of our orphanage (?) visit in TAR 11 ...maybe we will get something at a school? We have the Intro cap with the Maasai children...usually for a reason!

According to the date when the race was shooting, it was late spring (almost summer) in Tanzania, and this country is directly under the Ecuador line; so the temperature should have been warm mostly.  In the cap at the airport, Art & JJ are wearing only shirts (Kenya is also next to the Ecuador line); that makes me agree with your spec that this could be the beggining of this leg.

I've been to Kenya and in nights it can be really cold. So my pick is that this will be when Art & JJ ask Nary & Jamie if they are really teachers, outside the airport.

I believe that might be Mount Kilimanjaro.  At least the picture on wiki looks to have the same shape as this mountain.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Kilimanjaro

Slowhatch posted a photo that showed they were at "Jomo Kenyatta International Airport" in Nairobi.  That is quite far away from the "Ngorongora Crater/Conservation area."

We see from photos, the racers and fight are at the Kenya Airways - are they flying out to a domestic location like "Kilimanjaro Airport, Kilimanjaro Airport Road, Arusha, Tanzania"?  This would put the racers closer to the Arusha or Ngorongora Conservation area.  Another possibility is they are bused to the area.

I can't get any info on if this flight is possible, but you'd see Mount Kilimangaro from the plane.

I hate the fighting BB couple.  Yes, I know who they are since I watched on BB.  Yet their  fighting is eating up time on previews that would normally give us more challenge info.

Is there a RB this leg of the Tanzania double leg?  Is there another detour option?  So many questions and so little from screencaps.

Edited to add -
Too soon to post.  There is also an Airport in Arusha (which is better for racers/us).  Yet, it might be possible to see Mount Kilimanjaro taking a flight here as well.

Thanks guys!!

Nights in Tanzania can be VERY chilly, days can be sweltering, or just warm.

Don't think this is Kilimanjaro...but :duno:

All the flight info is in the TRANSPORT thread, we know they TRANSIT in Nairobi to either Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport.

And I totally agree about this fight stuff. I have been waiting since Season 11 for us to get back to Tanzania...and they are wasting my time on this??  :neener:

I have been in Ngorogoro crater, back in the days when you could camp on the floor of the crater. I have seen the "Big 5" and more, visited the Maasai, played with their children, woken to a herd of giraffes grazing against a big red rising sun, inches from my tent.

And I am SO JEALOUS of this leg I could die!!!

They got to BIKE in there?? NO ONE gets to do that!! :hearts:

I have little confidence in my quick findings on Google Earth, but the mountain looked a lot more like Mount Meru than Mount Kilimanjaro to me. I couldn't find Mount Lengai.

I was a little surprised at the elevation of the area. It's all at 5000 feet or higher, so some teams (Bopper) may have breathing issues with the more strenuous activities.

It's interesting how close this leg's task locations in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area are to the Lake Manyara locations used in TAR 5.

Is it possible that there is a switchback? :duno:
I do not think those task in Season 5 were that memorable though compared to the hay bales as the switchback in Season 15.

Mt. Kilimanjaro has a huge ice cone at the top. The mountain in question is definitely NOT Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Sorry, my mistake.  I thougt you were talking about THIS leg .

Anyway, the cap is from the beggining of a leg, this one, so we can say that you were right, partially.

Here's a map showing the airstrip and the Simba campsites; you can see it better if you enable the Google overlay.

Peach,
I think it was Mt. Meru too. Here is the photo I found in PEAKWARE World Mountain Encyclopedia
