Teams sighted at Maroondah Dam (possible bungee jump?)

No bungy.

I looked at some pictures of Maroondah Dam and it didn't look like it would work for bungee jumping. I think I said so when I posted the sighting there. The dam is much wider at the bottom than the top, so you'd have to have a platform that stuck out 50 or 100 feet from the top of the dam to avoid hitting the face of the dam on your way down. On top of that, it's not a particularly tall dam, maybe 150 feet or less, so it wouldn't be a long drop or dramatic visually. I don't know what they did at the dam, but I'd be surprised if it was bungee jumping.

And the different versions also tend to use existing bungy sites for safety reasons. Last time I checked, there's no bungy jumping sites in Victoria that are anywhere near high enough for a TAR to use - if memory serves, the highest is less than 100 feet.

If the task at the dam is as terrifying as stated, I'd put money on it being skydiving - Lilydale Airport is less than ten minutes flight time away, and the dam's has plenty of spare room for landing. We've already got abseiling in the Blue Mountains, so it can't be that, and there's not enough native wildlife in the area for an animal task, but Healesville Sanctuary (probably the best place in the country to do touristy crap like looking at koalas and kangaroos) is in the same area as well.

Here's some tweets from someone who saw TAR Norway in Macau. The picture shows Michelle and Catherine walking across a plaza and looking up for something, perhaps counting. They have a sound man following in the background.

Lisa C. Santos @Elisa_Santos
@snickerhither coolness! How many teams did you see?

snickerhither @snickerhither
@Elisa_Santos Just two. And we eventually found out it's The Amazing Race Norge and it's currently their first season.

The image above looks like it's from Largo do Senado Square. It matches up with this panoramic image.

Wait? Macau language is Portuguese?

One of them. Macau was a Portuguese colony until 1999, when it was returned to China.

Wait? Macau language is Portuguese?

Yep, but a lot if not most of the people speak Chinese as their main language. Portuguese is still a really big part of the culture their, though.

Also, I think that the girls in the picture are counting the lanterns. It seems like a likely task.

I agree that they are probably counting lanterns. However, it's possible they are looking for a specific lantern. They all look a little different from each other.

I see a pattern on the lanterns: yellow with pink flowers, orange, and yellow with fish. Don't know if this has anything to do with it? :duno:

Here are some snaps on close up of the lantern or the area.... the 3rd (last pic) is where Michelle and Catherine looked up and pointed out towards the white building on the right (blue truck)
