Great job, Ernie & Cindy!  You ran a flawless leg (minus the GPS bit  :cmas50) and that earned you the win!  I'm sorry for the fans of other teams but I'm glad Ernie & Cindy won!

And yeah -- don't ever go out for flight training, Marcus!  You're awful at it!

An oddity I don't think I've seen before.

The final three teams' average leg placement from leg 6 onwards was in the same order, and they finished the final leg in that exact same order.

Welp, season 19 is on my list of least favorite winners.

I've seen worse winners than Ernie & Cindy -- Eric & Danielle and Flo & Zach, anyone?  And at least Ernie & Cindy were one of my favorite teams, unlike some previous winning ones.

This finale... was kind of really boring. Ernie & Cindy dominated. But I'm happy for them. They totally deserved it. Congrats to them for winning! :cmaslol

Well Congratulations Ernie & Cindy! I wonder how close it actually was between them and JS!

I don't know, but it was probably about 15-30 minutes, the same amount that Brook & Claire lost to Nat & Kat in Season 17 (my favorite season).

I think if Andy and Tommy are in the finale, we MAY have a close fight since Ernie and Cindy did not make any mistakes. (Assuming Andy and Tommy will run a flawless leg too)

So now we have the Engaged Couple >> Dating Couple >> Married Couple :cmaslol

And Tammy and Victor V2.0 won! :cmaslol

Well they deserved to win because they made no mistakes in the final leg. It made for a boring episode though. I miss lead changes in the finale :cmas15

Cindy's comment about losing to the C students was obnoxious. They're probably nice enough people irl but I still don't really like them on the race though. :/

The rest of the season was better than this episode for me.

Somehow I never realized it:

"We can't afford to be nice anymore, it's a million dollars!"

:ascared

I really am disappointed in myself for not realizing this the first time I heard it. :gaah: It's the main thing I look for after all :groan:

I think we'll be seeing TAR 20 around the very end of February/beginning of March as we usually would. Most likely at its usual bat-time, bat-day, and bat-channel.

Ernie and Cindy as far as I am concerned earned the win on this last leg. They've done well the entire race; their worse placement was 5th in three of the legs during the first half of the Race (which was middle of the pack), while the other two final teams did finish in the lower half of the pack a few times. Ernie figured out the manual typewriter quirk is a very clever way for a generation that has probably never seen a manual typewriter up close, and I can understand why he had Cindy didn't catch on to the numerical references to Hank Aaron since that was 37 years ago, but once they caught on to the baseball aspect then they were right about heading to Turner Field (they probably lost a few minutes finding Hank Aaron's statue (there is one at Turner Field) and it wouldn't surprise me if there was a unshown route marker there since the remnant of the outfield wall of the old stadium wouldn't have been obvious even for locals.

And a couple of other things. Part of Cindy's mat comments almost channeled something Rob said on the final mat at the end of TAR 1. It was eery when she said it; and I think the foundation they have in mind is similar to what is known as "micro-banking" where small sums (often less than $25 are lent to help people start their own businesses; it's a concept that has been around for 25-30 years, and has proven to be a way to help bring about self-sufficiency in many of the world's poorest regions.

Congratulations to Ernie and Cindy!  :cmas16  Though I was rooting for another team, I felt that Ernie and Cindy were the strongest team heading into the final leg.

The cryptic clues were great but I wish the memory challenge was a bit more difficult.  Maybe arranging different objects relating to each leg would have posed a greater challenge.  That could include the "clue boxes" (like the mailbox in Denmark), not-written clues (coat of arms object given to teams at the orphanage during Indonesia 1) and the clue givers' attire (Panama dancers, Tabacco runners in Malawi).

Ernie and Cindy...no comments. TAR19 < Bag of Crap.

THIS is something I agree with wholeheartedly. I'm not going to rant about Ernie & Cindy again, as I've already expressed my views sufficiently, but TAR19 has been the worst season ever, and I'm actually contemplating whether it will even be worthwhile to stick around for TAR20. This season has been beyond dreadful, aside from Leg 7. The rest of it (except maybe Leg 6) has been awful, with terrible task design.

The final leg, for me, was terrible. Are we seriously going to decide who gets a million dollars based on a flight simulator and who can type fastest? That's just preposterous. Whoever designed this leg needs a real wake-up call. Abysmal doesn't even cut it.

The map thing was not even a good memory task - when we saw that teams were provided with little images in their clues of the countries, I was hoping that they'd have to search a bunch of pieces for the correct country pieces, which would've been a challenge at least. It isn't that hard to remember where 8 countries are situated, considering one is the US, two are extremely large (Thailand and Indonesia) and if you know where Germany is, you'd already know where Denmark and Belgium are, considering they took a train through there. The only potential difficulty was identifying Taiwan and Malawi, and even those aren't very difficult.

TAR19 - absolutely horrid, in my opinion. I will be sticking around for TAR20, but they had better come up with something better than this.

This was the second worst final leg of all time, behind TAR16's mess, in my opinion.
I'd rather walk alone than let them throw dirty confetti. ♥
