I'm more inclined to think they'll head east from here, instead of west (mainly since the last three seasons were west-bound)

Here are my best GUESSES on where they may head to next:
(in order of what I think is most likely)
1. Italy- Rome/Milan aren't too difficult to get to from S.A., both of which open up more possible locations within Italy, and can connect to anywhere in Europe, Northern Africa, or the Middle East
2. South Africa- accessible from S.A., has not been visited in a while, and you can transfer to Europe/Middle East without too many problems
3. Netherlands- Schiphol is a major transit point, with many connections around the world, and Amsterdam is a big city that could easily host another leg, also serves as a good transition from one continent to another
4. New Zealand- If they DO go west, I would think that they would head here, great scenery, great locations, is a good jumping point for Asia, and opens up the possibility of smaller islands *cough* Fiji *cough*
5. Gambia/Senegal- Dakar is possibly the biggest transit point on the African continent, so it wouldn't be too difficult to connect to it, and the Gambia is literally right next to it, new country, new location, and the culture shock of West Africa

(I doubt they'll stay in S.A., doubt they'll go to Spain (too much of the same language), they prob. wouldn't go to Portugal if they aren't going to visit Spain, Germany, France, England, Belgium, and Scandinavia have all been used recently, Central/Eastern Europe will prob come later, and most African countries, if they were to be visited, would prob. be visited after a leg or two in Europe)

That's just my two cents

Here are all flights that depart from Asuncion tomorrow(or today, same thing)

I dunno when teams depart, but if they depart early enough to make the Sao Paolo flight, they could go anywhere, same with Buenos Aires, as it has a direct to Cape Town, and ZA hasn't been visited in a while. So Africa Europe high chances IMO. They've also gone west 2 seasons in a row, which is highly uncommon too, so I think its Africa/Europe

Kandace,

I don't think it will be Johannesburg but do think it will be one of the European cities. Look for Madrid as the most likely.

Has any previous version of TAR (other than The Family Edition) ever used an airport in the USA as a transit point mid race?
So could we have teams fly back from South America to some airport in the USA and then continue on to Europe? Asia? Canada?
From there to here, and here to there,

In TAR 2 the gutsy grannies connected from Rio to new York to London to Cape Town.
In TAR 3 some teams connected from Mexico City to Miami to London.
I can't remember any other time but there might be.

Peach will post the photos that i took today...i took one which matchs exactly the one of the pit stop.!! Also, i've got a video that shows the producers chaecking in...but it's way too heavy and my phone won't allow me to upload it...once i get home i'll send it to peach so she can upload it here..!

I went to the ticket counter and the asked the lady where they were going..she said "Sao Paulo" departing at 12:05 pm...and i asked her back: where are they going after sao paulo? And she said: "GERMANY"

I walked off and tried to follow the producers towards the boarding room, and the stopped to have a little chat. I was lucky enough to overheard an airline assistant coming to them and handing one of them boarding passes explaining to him the route. I got closer and heard: "...and then the lufthansa flight departing at 05:00 pm (more or less)"

So, this is what we've got guys....germany is the next destination!!

Frankfurt is one of the main connecting points all over Europe. It's got almost every European and Intl airlines and it's the biggest airport in Europe in connections and so on. 99% sure it should be Frankfurt.

One of these two flights i think:

5:40 pm Depart Sao Paulo (GRU)
Arrive Frankfurt (FRA) 4:20 pm

TAP Portugal 82  / 6701
   Connect in Lisbon (LIS)

Flight 6701 operated by Lufthansa

OR

5:40 pm Depart Sao Paulo (GRU)
Arrive Frankfurt (FRA) 11:05 am

TAP Portugal 82  / 6707
   Connect in Lisbon (LIS)

Flight 6707 operated by Lufthansa

And here is yesterday's nonstop flights from GRU to FRA (which for corresponding flights today I did not pick up in an earlier note because they were outside the relatively narrow window displayed):

     On-time         Departure    Term    Arrival    Term
Flight    Rating    Airline    Sched    Actual    Gate    Sched    Actual
LH 507
                       Lufthansa    19:45    20:35    T-2          10:15    10:41

JJ 8070
          TAM Linhas Aereas    23:25                T-1          14:10    13:53

Neither of these corresponds to a 1205pm departure from GRU.

One of these two flights i think:

5:40 pm Depart Sao Paulo (GRU)
Arrive Frankfurt (FRA) 4:20 pm

TAP Portugal 82  / 6701
   Connect in Lisbon (LIS)

Flight 6701 operated by Lufthansa

OR

5:40 pm Depart Sao Paulo (GRU)
Arrive Frankfurt (FRA) 11:05 am

TAP Portugal 82  / 6707
   Connect in Lisbon (LIS)

Flight 6707 operated by Lufthansa

Yes, TP82 existed for yesterday 1740 0451+1 GRU LIS and connection to today's LH 1173
   0700+1    0655+1       1110+1    1053+1

I recognize that is possible, but tell my why teams would have been interested in a connection when when should have been able to get a nonstop arriving slightly earlier.

There seem to be no tweets, really? Munich is a big airport too, many people would recognize the race...

SPEC: I was there this summer. Places to be visited in Munich can include: Olympia Park (hosted Olympic games in 1972), BMW Welt, the Allianz Arena is pretty cool too, or maybe the Jewish Center (I couldn't get in as a reservation should be made in advance).

Let's see how this develops.
