He looks taller and younger than Joe to me. Maybe 10 years younger.

Do we know if all the teams were on AA276? If not, do we know if this was the leading group of teams or the trailing group of teams? Any ideas about a second flight?

Here is a bit of speculation.

http://www.elingspark.org/

Elings Park in Santa Barbara was closed all day today. Maybe it was for the start line of the race.

Your link shows the two soccer fields reserved yesterday (Saturday) but not the other sites within the park. Last Saturday both soccer fields were reserved along with a softball field, Godric Grove and the picnic area. Next Saturday, both soccer fields, 2 softball fields, Godric Grove, the Fenton Davidson site and the picnic area are reserved at various times. If anything, Elings Park was less busy today than usual. Is there more evidence that I'm not seeing that indicated that the park was closed today?

Possible good departures from Miami include:

Sao Paulo at 9 AM

Buenos Ares at 9

Belize at 955

Due to some other info  we have been aware of thanks to WP, I think BELIZE may be likely.

If TAR 20 did start in the Santa Barbara area, one site that jumps out to me immediately as a scenic and photogenic starting location is the Santa Barbara Mission (http://santabarbaramission.org/). It's considered the most beautiful of the Spanish Missions built in California. Less likely would be Hearst Castle (http://www.hearstcastle.org/) ( the massive estate that William Randolph Hearst built in 1920s-1940s) and the town of Solvang (http://www.solvangusa.com/ - sort of a mock up of a Danish village). Hearst Castle is fabulous, but it's about 150 miles up the coast from Santa Barbara (230 miles from Los Angeles) and that would be a really long drive from there to LAX. Solvang is about 30 to 40 miles up the coast and I really don't think it's special enough to make the cut for TAR. I looked around on sites for all three places and couldn't find any indication that any of them were closed yesterday. However, they are all busy tourist attractions, so it seems likely that we would have seen some tweets in they were filming there.

If Belize turns out to be correct, I think I've come up with a possible travel scenario.

Half the teams travel on the known flight to Miami on American Airlines:
AA276  22.55 > 06.40

Then connect to Belize by one of two flights, both American Airlines:
1. AA2103 09.55 > 11.10
2. AA2173 13.15 > 14.25

The other half of the teams fly to Houston on Continental:
CO1614 00.30 > 05.35

Then connect to Belize by one of two flights, both Continental:
1. CO1407 09.20 > 11.49
2. CO1410 13.25 > 15.53

If they use combination 1, teams will arrive half an hour apart, whereas combination 2 would leave teams 1.5 hours apart.

Just a theory at the moment, but it seems to tick all the boxes so far..

It apparently landed a little early:

Flight Status for American Airlines 276
Landed
Departure   LAX   11:23pm   (was 10:55pm)   Terminal 4
Los Angeles   Nov 26      Gate 42B
Arrival   MIA   6:48am   (was 6:43am)   Terminal N
Miami   Nov 27      Gate D8
Physics alone is not enough.

Hmm.. Phil just responded to a Facebook post. I doubt very much he has someone posting on his behalf there, as he frequently converses with family and friends. Could he be at the Leg One destination already? Or just taking advantage of some free airport Wi-Fi?!

Right now they are most likely at a layover in Miami airport. Hopefully someone will spot them there! The Belize flight would arrive by noon EST so he's hoping the leg will be over in eight hours so he can do the TAR19 episode

If they are going to Belize then there are multiple opportunities there for ziplining, cave tubing, kayaking, and diving.

If Buenos AIres is valid, so Miami Flight will probably connect through Sao Paulo. Someone did list a flight to Sao Paulo a few posts ago.

If it arrives late at night, my spec is that they go to someplace and get a departure time like earlier seasons.

The flight should be

MIA 10.55 (delayed till 11.15) to EZE arriving at about 21.50.

Getting to Terminal North, it seems.

This could be something like TAR:AS Leg 1? Getting in the middle of the night to South America and then getting Departure Times for the following morning?

Also, the one who posted about the flight in Twitter (Spanish) has said that he's got his wall plenty of people asking for pictures and he said something really awful about that.

Maybe he doesn't want more petitions about that,

Any Spanish things you need, don't hesitate to ask me, :D

Going back to the Asuncion tweet, any chance that Buenos Aires is a transfer flight there?

Most of the flights to Asunción come from Sao Paulo, Montevideo, Buenos Aires (both, AEP and EZE) or other minor cities as Ciudad del Este, or Santa Cruz. Definitely, it could be Buenos Aires, but if it is Asunción, which may also be, teams would need a flight from the said cities.
