TAR20 Casting
« on: September 07, 2011, 03:02:47 PM »
It looks like the TAR20 is casting right now, casting calls on September 10 (Saturday) at the Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, Washington.  Found it on the KIRO-TV webpage.

That's great.

Anyone wanna bet we'll see Big Brother's Brendon & Rachel do a Jordan & Jeff and be on TAR20?  :snicker:

CBS is getting flack over the incestuous laziness some of the casting that has taken place on all three of its reality franchises in the last few years, especially Survivor which has brought players back three or four times, and Big Brother where a team from the last two prior seasons were brought back this summer.

TAR did its re-run last cycle, and I do not expect any returning Racers for a long while. People would scream bloody murder if TPTB recast any team for a third time.

"incestuous laziness" - That is the perfect term! lol

But I meant, especially if Rachel wins BB13, like Jordan & Jeff after BB11, CBS would totally cash in on the opportunity by casting her and Brendon.  They already have a story, wanting to win the money for their dream wedding and/or having TAR be their honeymoon.  :snicker:
I like Brenchel so I wouldn't mind seeing them on TAR.  I think they'd do really well and have fun on the Race.  :trampb:

Hehe.  I know there won't be a TARAS2 anytime soon and TAR definitely can't do any kind of BB/Survivor Redemption Island type of deal.

Anyway... since half the cast is recruited anyway, why doesn't TAR go out and look for more ethnically diverse teams?   :duno:

You mean fourth time. First was Alison being cast for TAR5. Then Romber on TAR7, followed by Jeff & Jordan on TAR16, and now Ethan & Jenna for TAR19 :) And while we're at it, TAR needs to stop recruting all these beauty queens. We already had Christie, Nicole, Erika, Kelly, Dustin, Kandice, Caite, Stephanie, Brook, and Mallory...we don't need more Miss America/USA girls

GabyM, no, I meant teams being brought back onto TAR for a third time. I'm not sure how you got your interpretation out of the way I said it, but I think my meaning was quite clear.

As much as I adore our racers, I like new teams most of all ...

but I am 100% sure we will not have seen the last of some former racers.

The one thing I absolutely don't ever, ever want to see is a returning team or racer placed with a new cast.

I hated when survivor did it, and hate the idea of team really understanding the ins and outs of the race gaining such an advantage over new teams that aren't prepared for jet lag, over packed back packs, how to deal with flights, customs, ect..

I'm fine with Mallory, Caite, Erika and Dustin and Kandice.

TAR would never do that.  They'll do all "All-Stars" or all "newbies."  None of this Redemption Island/BB:Duos stuff.

But about having an advantage knowing the ins and outs of the Race, it's not that much different from teams who are fans of TAR and teams who have never seen a single episode.

As much as I don't want to bring attention to casting for the Amazing race because I really want to do it and don't want any competition, it looks like under the casting page they are infact casting for season 21, season 20 I believe was cast back in June.  It says on the casting website that this for for 2012. I wonder if they are shooting for an earlier shooting like starting the race in like March?

Hmm... that's interesting to point out!
Actually, the application for TAR20 went up end of June/beginning of July.  Probably a week or two after CBS officially picked up TAR20.

But the dates on the website now look like the application and casting calls are for TAR21.

Could that mean TAR20 could possibly be an All-Star season?

No. It only means casting is pretty much done for TAR 20. They are following the "normal" schedule.
