The Amazing Race Australia

Join Grant Bowler, as 22 Aussies get ready to conquer the world for the second time when The Amazing Race Australia returns.

12 teams stand ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime but only 11 will make it past the starting line.

The adventure will see teams crisscross the globe, unsure of what challenges lie ahead. What they do know is that the race will be fastpaced and unrelenting. It will test their ability to work together as a team, challenge their personal relationships and provide life-changing experiences. Along the way they’ll confront fears, develop confidence, experience new cultures and make lifelong friends.

Coming soon.

:gaah: After an almost flawless first season (only marred by the boot order), they're determined to start this season off terribly. Here's an idea; if you only want eleven teams in the race, then only cast the eleven most interesting teams, and save the twelfth one the humiliation and trouble of going through casting and leaving their jobs and family only to not even take part in the race!

Me too...I can't imagine shopping, packing, repacking, leaving your job with joy and excitement...all for that. It was the WORST thing TAR ever did, I hated it with a passion. CRUEL, and NOT FUN for viewers to watch. I almost deserted that season....

I could not have said it better myself.

*Respect*

I'm still waiting for my time on the amazing race US, and if that happened to me, I'd probably go berzerk. I'd be fine being the first eliminated, at least I get to experience it to some extent. But this is just overly cruel and it.... ADDS....NOTHING!
Bring on the 21!

I know what you mean but it is for ratings and nothing works better than a shock right at the start. Though I would prefer if at least the 12th team were eliminated midway through the first leg at least so they got to hop on 1 flight (like Bilal and Sa'eed on the US race seasons ago who were eliminated in China). And I guess with this twist at the start it will definitely make all teams much more competitive and perhaps a bit more cutthroat than the first season contestants?

Any viewer of a majority of Amazing Race U.S. seasons knows that the first episode allows some slack because there are always long delays at airports before either the first flight departure or the second flight departure. So teams get complacent and say to themselves "Why rush?" if they are not likely to make the first group. The elimination at the start line fulfills the purpose of keeping all teams on their toes and not assuming that they will qualify for any flight. Now, this same mentality has been transferred from Bertram van Munster to Michael McKay for ARAus.

It is perfectly logical and rational. Eric and Lisa were given the unusual option of not going to Elimination Station. Billel and Saeed were sent to Elimination Station with a mid-first-leg-elimination , which they no doubt enjoyed for about 2.5 weeks. Neither team impressed me as going far in their Amazing Race if by some miracle they were given a second chance to do that first leg in their Amazing Race. Anyone who thinks that any Amazing Race should not be doing start line or mid-first-leg eliminations should not put themselves through the agony of watching that race because Van Munster and McKay disagree with you.

I don't happen to like YIELDs, but I have to live with them to get the rest of the package.

Nooo.... Eric and Lisa flat out refused to go. They were able to provide CBS another option instead..

Some bad new, TAR Aus 2 will not be starting next week. The Titanic series is on in the Wednesday time slot before TAR US  :'(

Not sure why people are so interested in the Titanic, we all know what happens in the end!

And yet there are some people that don't realize that that the movie was based on reality. That's sad. Something else that's sad is that the teams still haven't been announced, and there haven't been as many previews as last season.

For what it's worth, the line about 12 teams being cut down to 11 has been removed. Either TVNZ is in strife for exposing the twist before Channel 7 could, or they've made an error.
