That cap is not the pitstop. Why would they go do the roadblock, come back to the detour staging area, put their safety gear back on and then check in?
I think they have time to do a confessional there because they are waiting on the helicopter to take them up or down the mountain. It seems like they have not done the detour yet but I can't tell for sure.

Wow prophet, I was speculating... Although a few of you know what the heck really happens, you forget that us lowly people are completely oblivious and have to guess and speculate and hope for a tidbit to be thrown here and there.  The first sentence of your response was not necessary, which was basically saying "Are you STOOPID?"   :ascared

The second sentence would have been enough.

Lucybell, I am sorry if you misread me, but I was not trying to criticize you. I'm sorry if I was being too ambiguous with my grammar, but I was not insulting you. I hope everything is alright between us.
I wasn't even addressing you specifically, several people said they thought that and I was giving a reason why it can't be. I'm sorry I did not soften that phrase a little.

There are a few pieces of knowledge about molding and setting chocolate in the molds that deserve attention. I have searched for answers and found some at http://www.candylandcrafts.com/chocolatecandymolding.htm My basic interpretation of them are:

1. Chocolate needs to be heated to between 98 degrees F and 100 degrees.
2. For larger molds, the best results for setting the chocolate are about 10 minutes in a freezer.

Peach has indicated that the demolding step is accomplished by allowing ice in the middle to melt, so this implies time for super-cooled water to freeze, which may not happen in that 10 minutes.

I don't have a good idea on how long it will take for that ice to melt.

Gosh...what have I started?

All the clues you need are here in this thread.... the tasks, the drama, the Philiminated team...

The pictures tell the story.

But I will see what I can do.

I had the same gut feeling that team's gonna get eliminated 5th too.

I think(?) since all teams were bunched at the RB, i could get some clues from how far the racers are into the RB and i'm very sure Mallory's a LITTLE way ahead of Vyxsin, with some parts of the chocolate gnome completed.

Don't know if we're talking about the same team.. but i thank Peach for keeping the spoilers away from us (or me)... the viewing pleasure is so much better this season (at least for me) because we simply have no idea who's going home each week ever since Austria...

And speculating is always fun! :)

I was watching the video, rewind a few ten over times and really thought that this looked like the back view of Jen.

SPEC: It seemed like if Kent, Big Easy and Kisha are standing in a row... does that mean they arrive in some sort of an order one team behind another as well?

There unused molds there on the table. Mean anything? I wonder if there are exactly five or not. And are they empty because two teams have not arrived or because the chocolate has already been removed?

There's bunching before the Roadblock (i think) and all 5 teams were together at the Roadblock.. probably together. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I think they have to make a FULL Gnome. Those moulds left on the table seen in the picture above may be the other second part of the Gnome. As you can see from previous pictures Mallory and Vyxsin seemed to only be completing 1/2 of the Gnome at a time.

Hi!

Long time lurker, first post here.  Peach clues are making me really worried for my favorite team.  With the "IT IS A RACE TO THE FINISH" comment and especially the “The pictures tell the story” comment combined with the 2A promo caps, I’m afraid I figured out who the eliminated team is.  I hope I’m wrong and this is all speculation, but if I’m right, I hope they are not eliminated because they forgot their gnome because that would be terrible and sad considering their previous experience on the race...    :(

I speculate that teams have to color in their gnomes as well as chocolate, as based on this cap:

The two gnome molds in the previous photo are colored but have no chocolate. :duno:

It's the same process. Mallory's "colouring" it from bottom up... it's just lacking the red part. :)

Also, after relooking at this cap, I believe that the Racer in the upper left hand corner is Vxysin.

The two mold halves sitting on the table is what they started with. It had been filled with water before hand and then placed in a freezer. The teams received that when they arrived. FT is holding one, in one of the screencaps. After they remove that plastic mold from the ice gnome, they "paint" the ice gnome with the different colors of chocolate. Then they would put in a freezer to set the chocolate. How long they have to wait then........I haven't a clue.

I do believe all they have to do is to colour the gnome up then pour in the chocolate, wait for it to cool, remove the mould.. then complete RB.. and bring it to the pitstop.

After 2 foodie Detour, i refuse to believe that teams have to eat the entire gnome at the pitstop before they could check-in. :lol3:

Place your mold into the freezer and leave it for five to seven minutes.

And BE shouting at Goths... might have something to do with sneaky/unfair play (probably gave wrong directions, snatched clue, stole their cabs) which i think we've heard Phil mentioning about Goths being the sneaky team (villians edit) this season?

Someone (Vyxsin, I'm guessing if this pans out) inadvertently ruins somebody else's (Flight Time, see reasoning for Vyx) mold by fiddling around in the freezer? :duno:

It could cause a shouting match if that were to happen.

peach, i smell at least one team having to re-do the entire or retrace back some steps of the RB because they probably mixed up the steps.
