@NOthisispatrck

UST was a pitstop sa The Amazing Race (Philippine franchise nga lang ata) http://instagr.am/p/Lkdd5mwu_t/

And he replied to my tweets:

Only saw two teams, one composed of 2 white-skinned girls. And there was a woman with red hair on the 2nd team. Not sure about their placements though. But the white girls arrived first before the team with the red hair

Confirmed pitstop location: Benavides statue, University of Santo Tomas, Manila

Its enrolment here in UP, so it is very impossible for them to visit us. Plus, UST is well in the "ancient manila" theme, so I don't question it as a location. :lol;

THE AMAZING RACE PHILIPPINES IN NOVEMBER!

Maybe. Filipino networks have a habit of announcing premiere dates that never happen lol

Here's the relevant info from the article from Interaksyon, TV5's news portal: (Pardon my attempt at translating. Some things are better left untranslated I think. lol)

Quote
Less drama, more blessings for Derek as he plays a new superhero in ‘Kidlat’

One is the recent London Summer Olympic games, which he considers “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” The other is the long-awaited “The Amazing Race Philippines”, which will finally make its on-air debut this November.

“It’s not true that it has been delayed,” Derek said regarding speculations that “The Amazing Race Philippines” is taking so long to be on the air.

“The truth is, the show has a lot of material, mostly top secret stuff that I can’t talk about. But when we shot that, tuloy tuloy, hindi pwedeng chopsuey. The cameras were rolling 24/7, wala talagang pahinga.  (But when we shot that, [it was] ongoing, it couldn't be chopped liver. Laugh  The cameras were rolling 24/7, nonstop.)

“Our shoot for ‘The Amazing Race Philippines’ was so grueling we didn’t get to appreciate the beautiful places that we went to because pukpukan, pukpukan, pukpukan. And they have to edit all that material and that took a while,” he further explained.

Philippine Entertainment Portal, better known as PEP has revealed some teasers for some of the Filipinos racing on TV5's upcoming The Amazing Race Philippines.  The PEP article also states that TARPh is premiering this month!

First, PEP describes: "One of the pairs include a beauty queen who lives an active lifestyle as she dabbles in track and field, muay thai and boxing. Earlier this year, she also graced the cover of a leading men’s magazine."

One beauty queen who graced FHM Philippines earlier this year was Danielle Castano who was originally rumored to be racing with fellow beauty queen Janina San Miguel.

Danielle:

--

From PEP: "It also seems like luck may be in the cards for another pair of contestants who, apart from being passionate about the same sport, share handsome genes and last name."

Philippine Azkal Anton del Rosario was one of the first rumored contestants and was actually spotted Racing.  His teammate could possibly be his brother Armand who is also a soccer player.

Anton and Armand

--

From PEP: "Another face to watch out in the Race is a dancer who severed ties with a popular noontime dance group of which she was part for five years. She eventually broke her silence and confessed she wants to do more than dance."

Signs point to this being former EB Babe Saida Diola.  She left GMA's Eat Bulaga earlier this year.  Plus she just posted this on Facebook: "Hi! Goodevening! Musta na kayo? Sa mga naghahanap po sa akin, SOON magkikita kita na ulit tayo mga kapatid:)" = "Hi! Goodevening! How are you all? For everyone looking for me, we'll be seeing each other soon, mga kapatid."  "Kapatid" is the term used by TV5 for its talents and fans (rival networks ABS-CBN and GMA use "Kapamilya" and "Kapuso" respectively).

--

From PEP: "Also part of the debut season of The Amazing Race Philippines is a former VJ and her best friend dancer-choreographer. According to them, they joined the Race with hopes to rekindle their friendship after a past rift"

I have no clue about this team.

--

From PEP: "Another Race contender is an actress who opted to lie low after marrying a popular cager. She’s ready to join the competition with her best friend who happens to be another familiar showbiz face. She has been seen in several TV and movie projects but only a few people know that she’s actually a single mom who will do everything to raise her daughter well."

The actress who married a basketball player is former Pinoy Fear Factor contestant LJ Moreno who was one of the first rumored Racers.  No clue on who she could be racing with.  Quick Google of "LJ Moreno best friend" turns up Rufa Mae Quinto, but as far as I know she's never been pregnant and she's been working around the time TARPh was filming.

LJ from her Fear Factor official photo:

And so those are the first teases.  I must say, I'm a little disappointed as so many celebs or pseudo-celebs.  A little worrisome, but I hope the other 5 or 6 or 7 teams are regular people.

On TARA it was good (not excellent, good). On TARAus, it was mediocre. On TARP, it'll be annoying. And if Phil was telling the truth and TAR goes to the Phillipines in TAR22, there will be a Jig or Pig detour and it will be just plain horrible.  :res:

Loverocked, I have to fix the Tagalog words posted on the teams release:

Mag-ama means in two proper ways:

Father and Son (if the child is male) or Father and Daughter (if the child is female).
Magkumpare means mates or guy friends.
