Thanks, Peach. It looks like an akhara--a gymnasium specifically for wrestlers (kushti or pehlwan). This article, published just a few days ago, claims that there less than a dozen akharas in all of Varanasi.
That "beach" certainly looks wide.

Could the daily farm be part of the Rajghat Rural Centre?  I don't have any pictures and those streets that FT and BE are on don't look to be near Raj Ghat.  I only thought of it because of earlier speculation that the cow dung patties task was near Raj Ghat and this place is located 200 meters off that bridge.

Detour: Make 25 fuel patties out of buffalo manure and slap them on a wall at an unknown location; load a stove with fuel patties and light a fire OR carry large bundles of hay through the crowded streets of Varanasi and deliver them to an unknown milk farm.

The roadblock. Not only does it always come first these days, the first clue after arriving is a route info found at a tonga stand and it tells them to do the RB.

I just want us to be cautious...RB's and Detours can flip flop first...and the light in the boats looks later to me. And supposedly the boats lead to the Detours...but that could also be  possible if they use them again to cross over to the fort for the Pitstop as well??

Also cap 13 with K/J crossing the stones looks as though they could be coming from a boat up a ghat as well, and we know that shrine area with the holy man is right around the corner from one of the main Ghats...so who knows?

The watch shots I posted looked like to my eye to perhaps be 1040>1130, but can't be sure...

The sign is in Urdu and not Hindi... I did take Arabic for a semester, but I can only identify a few letters here and can't really make out what exactly it saying.  The last two letters are "ka" and small "ha"  It probably does mean that it's in the Muslim area of Varanasi?  That's where all the textile stuff is made.  If I knew what some of the options were I think I could probably make out what it was saying. I'll try harder in a bit!

Manikarnika Ghat is the main cremation Ghat of Varanasi. Manikarnika Ghat is one of the oldest and most sacred Ghats in Benaras. According to the Hindu mythology, being burned here provides an instant gateway to liberation from the cycle of births and rebirths. Lying at the center of the five tirthas, Manikarnika Ghat symbolizes both creation and destruction. At Manikarnika Ghat, the mortal remains are consigned to flames with the prayers that the souls rest in eternal peace. There is a sacred well at the Manikarnika Ghat, called the Manikarnika Kund. Manikarnika Kund is said to be dug by Lord Vishnu at the time of creation while the hot ashes of the burnt bodies makes one remember the inevitable destruction of everything in the world.
