It appears that Jamie/Cara did finish one side of the detour before FT/BE.

I agree with everything else you said, but not clear on this. Are we saying this based on the cap from the stairs? FTBE are still carrying up the parts...how do we know JaCa are not doing the same? I am just not sure we can say based on that one photo, but I may be mistaken....

Partly that which you state and that Jamie appears to be removing the smock/jacket and hard hat. She seems to be shedding the required dress. In that pic on the stairs, BE could have put on his long pants if it was cold that morning. I meant to put that in the other post and forgot.

As Joab said, it could be one of the regular workers on that project. It would seem to be pretty coincidental if one of the workers had pants that matched the pants that Flight Time is wearing at/near the Pit Stop.

Peach, it looks like that the cheerleaders are done because they don't have the box anymore and have removed the jackets and hats they had to wear for that task. My impression was that they are running like that because they are done and know the Uturn is ahead.

I still cannot understand how they get done with the detour in the dark and reach the Uturn sign in the daylight. Especially when Margie and Luke got there in the dark, ruling out an HOO.

This looks like possibly one of the water heaters in assembled form.

Quick thoughts:
Margie\Luke and Gallory are there, watching the basketball game.
Zev and Justin can be seen walking up in the middle of the basketball game.
The Goths are nowhere to be seen.

Did the Trotters bring a ball in their bags?

I do remember the photo taken of Jaime & Cara checking in last had them wearing the same white hardhats as required in one of the detours. However, no one is wearing them during the roadblock. Are we sure the roadblock is after the detour or could it be the other way around?

They were not wearing those white harhats but their own woolen caps. They were also wearing them in the previous episode in Lijiang, especially early in the morning before getting on the bus on the road to the yaks. If you watch carefully you'll see that Cara's hat is white only while Jamie is has chinese caracters on it. They are also different in design.

I still cannot understand how they get done with the detour in the dark and reach the Uturn sign in the daylight. Especially when Margie and Luke got there in the dark, ruling out an HOO.

From the sightings, the train arrives at 5:18am. I believe the teams all made it onto:
L9034/9031 dep. Lijiang 19:05 / arr. Kunming 5:13 (found here). Kent/Vyxsin arrived in Lijiang at 8:15 that morning, giving them about 11 hours to complete the leg. Even with a meltdown and passport drama, there's enough time for them to complete the leg and get to the station.

Back in Kunming, sunrise on that day was at 7:36am, which would allow for a team to complete a Detour quickly (hence why M/L might have reached the U-Turn in pre-dawn and in fact, the sky was lightening up). Moreover, the time period just before dawn can have fairly volatile changes in light in a very short amount of time, so even though the girls complete it in the "dark", it might turn light by the time they get to the U-Turn.
