I don't know where to post this, but..

Has anyone tried to use these performance index formula in Excel? It doesn't seem to work out for me. It ends up in a number just slightly higher or lower.

This is from http://datameetsmedia.com/who-dominated-amazing-race-29-computational-approach/

Also this domination index formula:

If anyone solved it, please tell me how to type the formula in Excel so I can calculate TAR team's domination index! Thanks!
Whatever.

I think the performance formula listed is wrong (based on the articles explanation). Because if a team finished 1st, their performance would be 1-(1/#) or something less than 1. I think the correct formula is 1-[(placement-1)/(teams-1)]

Variable. Depends on production and transport needs. Has been as short as 8 hours and as long as 36-48.

Was this is an advertisement for TAR? Taken at 2005 near the monorail station at the Sahara, Las Vegas, by the way.

Whatever.

This is more of a TAR Wiki discussion, but a very short google search specifically details what the unaired final Roadblock was on TAR11 and Dustin did it.

Quote
RNO: So, what was the Roadblock?

Dustin: I had to jump off a cliff into the water. It was a mile run up this huge hill and Kandice was sitting in a boat right below where I would jump off, cheering me on. It was just jump at my own leisure. You just had to walk to the edge and the safety briefing was close your eyes, cross your arms, and jump.

Which seasons/episodes did they have flashbacks with old footage from previous seasons?

I remember in TAR11, David & Mary talking about how it was hard not having their friends around (footage of the Cho Brothers and them at the Kuwait airport was shown).

Then in TAR15, the hay-bale "switch back" task had footage from TAR6.

Aside from all Switchbacks listed on this page and what you've mentioned, I recall...
>TAR11 Oswald & Danny talking about the Detour in Macau being similar to the one they did in Hong Kong
>Team introductions for TAR18 and TAR24, and various points from both of those seasons.
>TAR25 leg 1, the three teams noting the similarity to the three teams on TAR22 that quit the first leg's Roadblock.

Also

- TAR 24 when the Globetrotters joked about the Beakman boys carrying their luggage around on wheels.
- TAR 25 leg 1 when they talked about all three teams taking the penalty, it flashed back to 22

Also how did they get pictures for the U Turns in TAR 29? Did they do a quick photoshoot between the schoolyard pick and when they left for Panama?

Yup, they're the same photos as their official team picture which was taken at the Starting Line.

Do teams talk to their camera and sound guys, I guess aside from interviews?

Or are they supposed to pretend that they do not exist at all?

No, I think teams interact with their camera crew quite a bit.  IIRC the reason for changing teams' camera crew each Leg was because in the earlier seasons, teams were getting very close with their crews, and they wanted to prevent that happening?  ???  I could be wrong though?

Does anyone know where I can watch past seasons of TAR?

I had the last 3 on my DVR (it crashed).
I have CBS All Access (can't find anything but clips there).
Searched on line (no luck).

Thanks!

Only until TAR25. :(

Hulu has 1-27 but no 28 and 29.

May have something to do with this:

http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,33250.0.html

It's bizarre though. You would think CBS keeps it up.

Oh well, hopefully the potential influx of viewers for 30 makes them put it back up.
