I keep forgetting to add this one. My guess would be after this whole season and the way things turned out, it would be the most important lesson to add.

Good girls finish first and second. No matter how stiff the competition is, it’s always important to play your own game, keep a cool head, and never quit. It doesn’t matter if your taxi was slow, you missed the clue, you traveled in the wrong direction, or received a penalty. What matters is you were always respectful towards everyone, you never fell apart, and you stayed proactive the entire race. For that you not only deserved your places in the race but you earned them.
You don't always win the race by making the best forward moves but you make it by avoiding the huge moves that set you back. -Nat

Things I learned from this season...

1. Even if your boyfriend trash talks you, you two will always get married and have kids  :cmas18

2. Never trust Chinese and their food. :barf

3. Always ask for another sled when you fly yours off the mountain  :cmaslol

I gotta say, i love the fake food RB. It was new, creative and i didn't definitely expected that. One of my favourite and most memorable tasks of the season!

I loved it too! I would have had a harder time eating that hideous head than the Chinese food!

I am going to take a slightly different slant on this and have a little fun indicating what each of the eliminated or second/third AR17 teams should have been asking for for Christmas:

11. Tony and Ron - Never say "This is going to be our strongest suite, being able to navigate really well" unless you can really do that. As an aside applying to all teams in every Amazing Race, make sure both team members have practiced on stick shifts and left-hand-drive cars before the race starts.

10. Andi and Jenna - talk about spending quality time together and you will be granted your wish, but only at Elimination Station (which I think was really a blessing in disguise for theme since they got almost the maximum possible of that quality time).

9. Jonathan and Connor - instead of getting a fancy Harvard education, how about earning some Boy Scout medals like Chad so you could make a tepee faster (yes, I know that Katie and Rachel later became their ultimate competition to the pit stop but this is classic irony)?

8. Katie and Rachel - don't fall behind in any leg so that if the next leg has no bunching points you can actually recover.

7. Michael and Kevin - practice obscure sports like gorodky (and the hundreds of other obscure sports all over the globe).

6. Gary and Mallory - beware of maps that don't have enough detail (yes, the same applies to Nat/Kat who were lucky to beat them to the pit stop by a small margin).

5. Chad/Stephanie - don't get to a double U-turn as one of the last 2 teams.

4. Nick/Vicky - don't have as a teammate a worthless piece of crap who will not help and caused a 6 hour penalty on a rather simple needle-in-a-haystack type task (but with no disadvantage for teams starting later).

3. Jill and Thomas - bring your own GPS the next time you travel overseas.

2. Brook and Claire - beware of rebounding watermelons (which is right in there with the Ides of March as something to avoid)!

Great post, Apskip! I especially liked the bit about Nick!
