I think this has to be considered a TBC leg, check out Phil's pocket stash. Way to break in the all stars!

This by far is the most spoiled leg in history and means there probably will be never another first leg in Sydney.

Anyhow, if they are going to the outback is it where Survivor was in that area?

Totally different area. Survivor Australian Outback was filmed at Goshen Station, Queensland. The next leg is Broken Hill, NSW.
The Amazing Race TV Stars- Marc and Rovilson (Currently 1st)
Victor\'s Amazing Race- Mooyou and Jerseydude (Currently 5th)

I wonder if the teams themselves know that they are going to Broken Hill? (If TPTB pulls a "mystery destination" on them...)

They should really constantly check RFF to figure out where they're going next!

couple of questions.....  if the flights to broken hill leave at 6ish am, we should expect them to be on the move in about 3 hours right?  Also, after looking up broken hill, it seems it's most known for mining.  could we have a mining roadblock?

"[broken hill]  Australia's largest mining concern BHP Billiton has its origins here with the initials BHP standing for "Broken Hill Proprietary". The mining industry has declined in recent years however it still plays an important part in the story of the town with many tourist attractions associated with mining. The other main reason to visit Broken Hill is for the artists who have called the city home. There are many galleries around the city that are worth visiting."  (source wiki)

Looking through my copy of Lonely Planet. Looks like some of these might be in order:
Broken Hill Base, working Royal Flying Doctor Service base
School of the Air, where "tourists are expected to be at the School by 8.15am"
Golf or underground mines (Delprat's Mine or Daydream Mine), as in TAR 2

So the first charter leaves in about 50 minutes. I saw a list of teams on each charter (I think in the timeline thread) but was wondering if that has been confirmed by anyone?

This doesn't quite match up with the reported finishing order of the first leg.

Hmm I'm wondering how A/K,G/M,R/C all fell behind. Possibly because of what someone else said. They were searching Pyrmont bridge instead of the Town Hall.. Not sure about A/K though

K/V prolly caught up because they had their Sydney Tourism book! And knew where to find the statue

At the pitstop that started the 2nd leg(it was a TBC) the teams had a clue to go back in town and find a statue "to sail to stop" some teams probably got lost.

Forgot about that part.

G/M, A/K, and FT/BE crossed over to the second half because of this. That helped M/L, M/M, and K/V cross over to the first half.

We may not have ridiculous amounts of spoilers for the Broken Hill part of the leg, but whether the pit stop is there or not..

They can't teleport to their next destination.. X_X

So fans might be able to spot them at airports waiting to leave. And that might clue us in on where they are heading next right?

From all reports, PYRMONT Bridge was NOT easy to find...taxi drivers apparently didn't have a clue.

I found a discussion of the Amazing Race being in Sydney on a discussion board for Sydney airport. The thread is at http://www.yssyforum.net/board/showthread.php?t=6143. There's not much new here so I didn't put it in the Live Sightings thread. Most of their information seemed to come from here and a couple of the people posting there may have been from here looking for information. The main new tidbit I saw was someone who works at Sydney airport saying they helped out a film crew from Los Angeles on Saturday (3 days ago) that was trying to film plane arrivals for QANTAS (so they claimed). He said they didn't seem to know how to go about finding good locations, which he thought was strange.

One amusing comment from someone with connections to the Sydney airport was joking about rerouting TAR's baggage to Perth. I guess he didn't know that the racers don't have checked baggage.

Hmm, just wondering. If Kynt/Vyxsin knew that they were drawing times for the Outback while on the ferry on Manly back to Downtown Sydney, why do we have teams at the Pyrmont Bridge? Was it a case of "find To Sail To Stop near Pyrmont Bridge"?

From what i could tell with GE, Pyrmont is basically a large neighborhood mostly surrounded by water.  There are bridges going to/through it but those are freeways.  And there is this long skinny thing that has the metro running on top and pedestrians on the lower level.  That thing is the Pyrmont Bridge.

That could explain why taxi drivers would not be familiar with it.

R/C and G/M

prolly didnt know where the To Stop To Sail statue was... so they tried there after locals might have pointed them in that direction?

Im sure the clue didn't say exactally where it was..

or they got lost
