Doh. I was editing that before you posted, but let it be publicly known that I'm dumb.  :lol3: I have those episodes running in the background as I'm typing right now.

Poland! I still think they should go back. Mostly because I'm there in December and I have a faint hope of stalking.

*OFF TOPIC*
since there are few f/f teams, i think that a f/f team won TAR17

I've been thinking that either Brook & Claire or Nat & Kat have won TAR 17 for quite some time now.  So I agree with you -- one of those two teams won.  And I'm sure hoping it's Nat & Kat -- they're my favorite team (sorry, Mike4lyf)!

I know we are just speculating, but guys we have no clue where the first destination is. Australia would logically make sense, but our fantasy routes usually don't happen. We have to keep all possibilities open, and not just come to a conclusion that its Australia.

Well, we have K/V looking at Australia books, AND a TSA employee saying that K/V were thru security for the Qantas flight....but you can choose not to believe that if you want of course.

Any sightings in the Sydney area would be starting about 8 AM Sydney time, 4 PM EST. So Sydney friends, keep an eye out all day Sunday!!

Except that it will MONDAY for them!

QF 12    10:25pm-8:00 am
QF 108   11:50pm- 9:25 am

Are these the two flights? The first had to stop in Honolulu for some technical reason...

As far as I understand they are on 108. It should land in a little over two hours.

Is the information that all the teams are on just the one flight (108)? I think that is what is confusing at the moment. Or is it that since we don't have confirmation of the other teams (besides the three initially tweeted) we don't know if the remaining as yet unconfirmed teams are on that flight or which other flight they may be on.  What I am reading in the various threads makes me think that is what folks are not completely clear on. (And for the moment, I count myself among them.)

I'd say

QF 108 100% likely
QF 12 50% likely
DL 17 70% likely
VA 2 2% likely
UA 839 1 % likely

I do think that there will be 2 legs in Australia, and a leg really close to Australia, (ie Indonesia or New Zealand), take season 13, 14, 15, 16 into example.

My spec is next leg in Melbourne (lots of flights), then Bali, then another Indonesian destination, and then a leg in India.

Whoever was saying Sydney customs and border control is quick think again. Expect AT LEAST 40 mins between landing and them entering the arrivals hall especially on a Monday morning with so many flights arriving simultaneously. Hope they are not transiting to another city...

Is this an all-star season?

It is a season of "former racers." What CBS will call it when it comes time to promote it is anyone's guess. We have heard the term "2nd chance race."

First leg flights are always producer provided; this also allows Phil to get where he needs to be at the first destination country ahead of the teams.

Thanks, Peach for clarifying what the info status was.

Thanks for your reply. Can't wait to see this season, always nice to see former teams.

If the route of TAR 11 is any guide vis-a-vis the places those participating Racers had been to prior to that season, there may be return visits for some of the teams. (Oswald-Danny had been to Hong Kong for TAR 2 and again for TAR 11.) I do not think we can assume that none of those venues visited by returning teams won't be included this time.)

I posted it in the spec thread, but I think Melbourne, Bali, Jakarta/Yogyakarta/Surabaya, and a stop in India are likely. Then possibly 2 legs in East Africa (TAR hasn't been there in a while, possibly Egypt?).

Just a historical recap......

TAR 12  ????
TAR 13......two flights to Brasil.
TAR 14......two flights....one to Zurich, one to Milan
TAR 15....???
TAR 16......two flights to Chile.....but all teams ended up on one, due to problems with plane and jumpy racers.
TAR 17....two flights to London

My spec only.......
TAR 18....probably the two Qantas flights, since they are both codeshares with American Airlines, a sponsor
