I think most likely they're going to Vancouver or Sydney. There's a bunch of Qantas flights going there, and around the right time to boot.

Two Qantas flights tonight from LAX to Sydney......

QF 12    10:25pm-8:00 am
QF 108   11:50pm- 9:25 am

Nice spilt in arrival times to divide up the teams.

Also these flights too....

UA 839   10:15pm- 7:50am
DL 17      10:45pm-- 8:40am

The Qantas flights are codeshares with American....so when showtime comes in Feb.....I bet they all run up to the American counter to get their boarding passes.......

I posted this in the Live Sightings/Tweets thread but I'll put it here also.

Here are the flights on Qantas leaving tonight (within the next 40 minutes). NOTE: The first time is the scheduled time, the second is the actual time.

The estimated arrival time of the Sydney flight above is 9:01 AM (Sunday at 2 PM in LA, 5 PM on the east coast US).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Below are flights that left for Sydney during the 10 PM PST hour (possible that there was an earlier flight for some teams on a different airline). There are no other flights out of LA to Sydney tonight (so the one above is the last one).

UA 839 is estimated to arrive at 8:33 AM (Sunday at 1:33 PM in LA, 4:33 PM on the east coast US).
QF 12 is estimated to arrive at 8:00 AM (Sunday at 1:00 PM in LA, 4:00 PM on the east coast US).
DF 17 is estimated to arrive at 9:01 AM (Sunday at 2:01 PM in LA, 5:01 PM on the east coast US).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

MODS: MOVE THIS TO THE CORRECT THREAD IF IT IS IN THE WRONG PLACE. THANKS.

redwings........if you hit that "Hide Codeshare" button.....it will greatly clear up all those flights......:)

Well, Coutzy has about 13/14 hours to catch those two Qantas flights.....I wonder if he can make it...

Prob not, he is not in Sydney...

If I started driving now, I'd be there in time to catch a few hours nap before teams arrive. But Monday morning carries with it work related commitments, unfortunately.

Yes, we believe they are going to Sydney. :hearts:

Kynt and Vyxin asked in book store for Australia books.

So smart <33333 anyway, there have been ALOT of problems with qantas planes as of late so it is possible that we may have a delay or something

We really need someone there to catch photos of our racers, so we can see them in their 'All-Stars..' stead, and so we can confirm peach's team sheet...I hope one of our capable Aussies will be there for them when they touch down...

I hope they go to the philippines but it will be very unlikely xD

However, New Zealand is a possible location.

Since they started in Australia. They probably be heading off in Asia by then

After spying some former racers on Facebook, I think the teams would be:
1. Kynt & Vyxsin
2. Jaime & Cara
3. Kevin & Michael
4. Amanda & Kris
5. Gary & Mallory
6. Steve & Allie
7. Flight Time & Big Easy

Possible Teams:
1. Zev & Justin
2. Kisha & Jen
3. Margie & Luke (too many Father/Mother/Son/Daughter Teams)

Tina, Starr, Jennifer (Nate & Jen) all posted fb status yesterday.

Kevin tweeted that he was playin basketball with the globetrotters. I guess M/K are with FT/BE on the race?

My Speculated Teams:

Kynt/Vyxin
Jaime/Cara
Michael/Kevin
~~~~~~~~~~
Jodi/Shannon: Jody usually posts some things on FB. She suddenly stopped. Last Post. "Therapy for my right hip/glute was so painful (but in a good way) that I skipped running practice last night. Now for some stretches, an X-ray, more therapy, more stretches, and then maybe I'll be able to run again. Hope so. I'm not done running!
Margie/Luke: Luke stopped posting here on RFF
Jet/Cord: Most likely
Flight Time/Big Easy: Most Likely
Kisha/Jen: Most Likely
Gary/Mallory: Alot had been speculating there return
Zev/Justin: most likely
Eric/Lisa: If this is a "2nd Chance" Race, They SHOULD be here.
I am in Sydney, however I do have school tomorrow  (:;) and wouldn't have time to chase the teams. Does anyone have any idea where in Sydney they may be going? I'll keep my eyes peeled and camera ready though. Sorry to let you guys down  :(
As far as Michael and Kevin are concerned what do you think about this: http://twitter.com/#!/kevjumba
He has been consistently tweeting, could be fakes, I guess time will tell.
GARY!!!
He almost makes up for the horrid human being that is Jaime. And for having to watch Kevin treat his father like useless luggage. Again. I don't mind the Globetrotters so much since they can be entertaining, I just don't respect them from a RAAAAACE point of view.
I'm very happy to see Zev/Justin and Kynt/Vyx back, but I was expecting it. A little disappointed with the possible lack of Toni/Dallas. I liked Keisha and Jen, though I know the only reason they were back was because of the rivalry with Luke and Margie. Booo. I don't mind either team as much as I mind Jaime because they can be competent racers and stick to being ***holes to each other as opposed to being Ugly Americans to the people of the world.
Nat and Kat have probably won TAR17 and they're doctors, not mactors, they can't take another month off.
Brook is a camera-mugging nuisance so no thanks.
If they're doing Australia as a first stop, can it please be Tasmania? Or an even smaller island in Oceania? It just seems like not enough of a shock to the system to people who are for the most part very well-traveled and also experienced racers to have them in Sydney or Melbourne.
My secon-biggest YAY after Gary is westward-going race! Woohooooo!
I'm in Sydney, but with school tomorrow (and three periods of Maths to sit through) sadly I probably will be missing all the fun. (:;)
But I cannot believe we are having another All-Stars season! I actually enjoyed the first one (apart from the catastrophic ending :groan: ) so I might just love this one too (fingers crossed that TAR13 has some representation - my chioce would be the Divorcees or Terence & Sarah).
Hope we have a great season, and maybe I might something fishy around here! I certainly hope Sydney is the destination! :knuckles:
Keep up all the great work you guys do! :hearts:
Any sightings in the Sydney area would be starting about 8 AM Sydney time, 4 PM EST. So Sydney friends, keep an eye out all day Monday!!
I know we are just speculating, but guys we have no clue where the first destination is. Australia would logically make sense, but our fantasy routes usually don't happen. We have to keep all possibilities open, and not just come to a conclusion that its Australia.
I hope you're right. There's parts of Australia I'd love to see on the Race for the first time (Tasmania for instance) because taking a bunch of (for the most part) experienced travelers and Racers and throwing them in a major English-speaking city on their first leg is kind of... underwhelming, unless you come up with truly killer tasks. It's just not as big of a shock to their systems as other destinations in the area could be.
I loved the All Stars Season up until the conclusion, it would have been one of my favorite seasons ever if it weren't for the dismal winners, mostly because of its the destinations. Mauritius! Madagascar! Back to back! Whoa! So fingers crossed if none of the South Pacific nations make it this time around they at least go to the Maldives.
