I'm really looking forward to the prospect of having a penultimate leg in South America for the first time in 18 seasons! The closest that it has been is the Jamaica leg in TAR7.

There are plenty of fabulous places to visit in Switzerland besides Geneva, Grindelwald, Kanderstag, Montreux and Zurich (all AR3) and Locarno and Interlaken (AR14) and Chur (AR18). I vote strongly for that second leg in Switzerland. With the first leg finishing Tuesday teams would have to go somewhere plus get a 36 hour pit stop to depart Zurich Friday night, which would put them into Rio de Janeiro this morning.   It could be Bern, Zermatt, Lucerne, St. Moritz or Basel among many others.

I had been wondering why there doesn't seem to be any new countries yet for season 18 and after seeing the preview, with such an emphasis on "unfinished business", it's possible they're having the teams return to "the scene of the crime", go back to the countries where they stumbled in the first place.

Kynt and Vyxsin = India
Jaime and Cara, Kisha and Jen = China

However with this theory they should've returned to Cambodia for Zev and Justin, but I'm just thinking out loud anyway.

For the last 2 hours I have been researching all routes from GIG, GRU, EZE, SCL and LIM (the largest airports in South America) into Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington-Dulles and JFK. My conclusion was that it was impossible to get form Rio starting at midnight at reported in a Tweet to GRU in time to get either of these flights:

AA998 0110 0630
AA930 0205 0735

The latest connecting flight from Rio was:
G31631 GIG GRU 2230 0001+1

So, how is it possible to teams to be spotted at that hotel at midnight and get to Sao Paulo airport within one to two hours. Inquiring minds want to know. The most obvious explanation is that the timing of the Tweet was off  by a few hours.

Isn't it possible that FT/BE were doing a decoy run after being eliminated?

Maybe they did visit a couple new countries and there were no reports of it, like the Seychelles leg.  There are some gaps in between the sightings (Switzerland-??-Brazil) and (India??-??-Austria).

I thought they did align though:
they do have Rio (confirmed), Japan (confirmed), China (confirmed).
They also added NYC, London, Egypt, and Paris.

I can tell the old contestant ones some of them are old, but the scenes are all new too? DARN IT!
