No one here knows which teams were asked and had to decline because of other commitments.........right? The one thing for sure....is we are having a TAR 18...why cant we all be thankful for that.

I'm so EXCITED to have my first season where I watch the spoiler hunt live. I've always avoided spoilers, but I can do that no problem with an All Stars season since I know the contestants anyway. Normally, I'd only want the destinations spoiled, but I'm so looking forward to the next three weeks even if I'm starting a new job in a few days and won't be online as much.

I've never loved anything on TV as much as I love TAR. Ever. So if I'm complaining it's because this show is really special to me and some of the teams... I just don't feel like they represent the best TAR has to offer, some of their behavior goes beyond human foibles in high stress conditions. I've tried to be balanced though and on the whole, I can't wait to see MOST of these teams race together because it will make for some interesting dynamics. We have more uberfans of the show with previous knowledge beyond their racing experience in this race than in the other AS edition, right?

I'm now trying to recap destinations the teams have travelled to in previous races to see who's been to Australia (as a racer) before.

If I am not mistaken........TAR has not been to Australia since TAR9. New Zealand in TAR 13 is about as close and some of the TAR 13 teams connected in Sydney if I remember correctly.

I am actually looking forward to Linda and Steve.  They are both really very funny.  If we are lucky there should be some drama between them, Keisha and Jennifer and Margie and Luke.

Mark and Michael are a serious ???????

EYEWITNESS other LAX vicinity sightings: :jumpy:

Kevin and Michael (2 sightings, reportedly indeed had backpacks at airport also)
Globetrotters
Margie and Luke
Jaime and Cara
Kynt and Vyxsin
Mel

If Mel was spotted at LAX, so where is Mike then?

Remember on the 11th season (All-Stars) Reichen or Chip (can't remember which) was at the Miami Airport and met some teams during filming.  Sometimes former racers are at an airport but not in the race so we could keep this in mind!

It was Chip. as he lives in Miami-Dade and travels frequently. Still does, as a matter of fact.

There have been a few times when a former Racer has stumbled across filming elsewhere. I can't remember who at the moment, but there was an encounter one season in a train station in Germany, IIRC. So that sort of thing is always possible.

The probability of that happening seems highly unlikely. There are about 72 teams in the pool of possibilities and for one of the 60 that are not on this season to be in the same spot of the world at the exact same time doesn't seem likely.

So yeah, if someone spots a former racer(s) who are traveling and somehow stumbled upon this seasons filming, they could easily confuse them for being in the race and start tweeting about it until everything is cleared up.

I have a feeling someone is tweeting for these teams to throw us off. Jaime tweeted recently too.

How recently? Kevin's was just a few minutes ago and whoever is doing his must have a good knowledge of his life...

It says 19, that is long enough to before that flight began.

Observations:
1. Twitter accounts can be monitored by CBS.
2. I'm not aware that airline bookings can be made on Twitter.
3. In pre-Race sequester, CBS can certainly supervise Tweeting as a means of keeping casting and filming plans hidden as much as possible.
4. CBS and WRP can do these things using their contestant contracts, and the (alleged) five million dollar penatly clause in the contracts.
5.  There was a time when I-pods were banned too, but that did change in more recent seasons since the content of the I-pods hard drives can be checked electronically.
Bottom line --  The use of a Twitter account, in and of itself, may not prove anything.

True, if we confirm M/K in Australia we will know that they are doing something funny because these tweets would have come while he was in the air.

Btw........if you send any of these speculated racers a tweet asking if they are, in fact, on TAR 18.......do you really think that they will tell you the truth........do you think they will violate their contract with CBS and WRP?

Teams spotted in train station in domestic terminal? Either they are taking a train into the city or Sydney is a transit stop onwards to a domestic destination?

Exactly, I'd love to know if this information is coming from Twitter/FB so we can check as well!
