While we're on TARAu, I thought it was hilarious how teams all of a sudden were annoyed and disgusted by Elizabeth of Elizabeth & Todd. Especially Aston & Christie. (“If she wants anything from me, she can eat a bag of dicks because I’m not giving you anything!” and “Yeah it’s really great you two-faced bitch!”)

I think it would've been even funnier had they both made it farther in the Race. Elizabeth getting under everyone's skin for pretty innocuous stuff was great.

So does anyone know the reason why Season 3 and Season 11 had back to back NELs? I presume it is to do with the eliminations the leg before.

Season 11... I would definitely point to Uchenna & Joyce missing their connection flight. The producers probably feared to have another Joe & Bill and David & Jeff fiasco.

Source? I'd like to know if this is true because non-elimination legs are pre-determined, after all.

No you're wrong like Tar 30 leg 9 was supposed to be a NEL but since Brittany lost her passport and so it made leg 10 a non and on TAR 11  Unchena and Joyce has to wait a long time for another flight to malaysia so ultimately they were ELIMINATED,and yes NEL are pre determined however it might change because of flight passport ect

Unless there is evidence I can't believe in such a claim. James & Abba lost their passports in Russia in TAR 21 and were saved by a non-elimination and then were booted in the following leg.
If the producers did that with Uchenna & Joyce, let alone the other teams in this situation then that is highly unfair in my personal opinion.

It was because the next leg was also in Russia and they had a slight chance of recovery

Nope. We have no confirmation about the change in NEL placement, and NEL have to be pre-determined because of the law in US

I agree with the previous poster that they are pre-determined, in all instances. If they changed the rules, any team who fell behind and got eliminated could sue the producers if they felt something wasn't right.

IDK if anybody would be that mean and sue the producers because they got eliminated

You don’t know American culture then :funny:

But, more seriously cbacbacba1 is correct about it being against US Law

If you are claiming what you are presenting is a legitimate competition, yet you rig it in anyway/give a certain individual or team an advantage during the comp (even minor things) you can be prosecuted

If the twists, challenges, NELs are set beforehand it doesn’t count for that, but if you purposefully change it due to a team- for or against them- that’s where the problem is

The twists are there for the teams to experience, but they plan them not knowing who will benefit/suffer because of it

Which would you change?

And yes Bourkie, I love Elizabeth & Todd too. Especially Elizabeth. She was hilarious, especially the way she kept trolling the other teams. Wish they had made it further on the Race.

For TAR24, I'd only say JJ went from Meh/Okay to Like for me.
TAR18, Margie & Luke stayed about the same to me, i.e. I didn't hate them on TAR14. Oh, and I kinda secretly for no good reason loved Amanda & Kris on both seasons. :cmaslol
In TAR11, I would keep 'same' for Rob & Amber, but I liked them both times. I didn't love Charla & Mirna, but I liked them both seasons, and I didn't dislike Dustin & Kandice on their first season.

So that's... not 3 things :cmaslol, but I'm still surprised how much it all matches my opinions.

Doing that list reminded me of that awesome moment (one of very few) on TAR24, in the premiere when Brendon & Rachel ran to hug Bopper at the Starting Line after Mallory arrived. It would've been awesome to see Brendon & Rachel and Mark & Bopper race together on TAR24. (Might have helped elevate the season lol) I believe both Mark & Bopper went to Brendon & Rachel's wedding, so they're good friends.  So it would be interesting and fun to see them team up and Race together.

Oh well. Enough of thinking about TAR24

Does anyone know why they changed the U turn format? I thought it was so much better before

it used to be:

Detour Clue-> complete one side of detour -> uturn board

but now its

uturn board-> detours

I thought it made so much sense to have to complete a side of a detour before getting the ability to u turn. Recently its just been first come first serve. Any official word to why they changed it? I think 29 (maybe 28, I am currently watching that, almost halfway through haven't seen a u turn yet) is the first time they changed the format.

Probably just to shake things up. I definitely think they should alternate its placement. Like if they put it before the Detour on one Leg, the next U-Turn is after. And vice versa of course.

The only explanation that makes sense is "being different for the sake of being different", because putting it before the Detour makes no sense otherwise. The U-Turn is a reward for doing well in the Race and completing the Detour before one's target. Now, though, it's just a matter of who happens to clear airport customs first. It's complete garbage.

^ You are rather talking about bad leg design, where no tasks are placed before the U-Turn board, which results in airport customs determining who gets to it first.
If we have a leg wtih RB/ARI - U-Turn - Detour - PS, I see nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, being the first Route Marker on the Leg is no good. But having a task before it is fine.
