Calm down, guys. We go by evidence here, and this is not the place to debate how safe Israel may or may not be.

‎XXXXXX‎: The Ausie Amazing Race is in TLV!! Next stop for them is Sri Lanka!
Twitter - 1 minute ago

Well if this is real, they may copy the Sri Lankan legs from TAR Asia this season? They pretty much did the same for the Bali leg!  :lol3:

Can someone help me out here with the current speculated route?

Questions:
*12 legs in total, approx 30 days?
*1 or 2 legs in Vietnam?
*1 or 2 legs in South Africa?
*At least 2 legs inbetween South Africa and rumoured Israel Leg?

Leg 1: Australia->Indonesia (Bali)
Leg 2: Indonesia->Vietnam (Ho Chi Min/Hue)
Leg 3: Vietnam->Macau
Leg 4: Macau->South Africa (Joberg?)
Leg 5: South Africa (Cape Town)
Leg 6: South Africa->??? (Frankfurt airport)
Leg 7: ???->???(Nepal/Bhutan only speculation)
Leg 8: ???->Israel ?
Leg 9: Israel->???(Sri Lanka?)

I don't think there would be a leg in Nepal/Bhutan. It just would not make any sense geographically. Maybe a 2nd European Leg?
The Amazing Race TV Stars- Marc and Rovilson (Currently 1st)
Victor\'s Amazing Race- Mooyou and Jerseydude (Currently 5th)
RFF Amazing Race Season 2- Redskevin88 & Jerseydude (Eliminated 4th)
Mooyou\'s Amazing Race- Tammy and Victor (Finished 2nd Place )

Interesting information! I'm hoping that they will hit North or South America before the end, but with the current route, that's looking unlikely. :(

May be a penultimate leg in New Zealand? :duno:

How about a leg in Naples (Italy)? That could be mistaken for Nepal.

I have obtained a pilot promo ad by Channel 7 for The Amazing Race Australia! This was shown to online survey members to rate effectiveness etc. Unfortunately you can only see it once, but I did take screen shots! Promos will most likely go to air mid to late January when the Australia Open tennis is on Channel 7.

The pilot ad basically had shots from previous US races but with some short clips of Aussie contestant audition videos inbetween confirming some names. It also confirmed 11 Teams, Across 14 Great Countries(?). Also "a big cash prize".

Although I cannot confirm all of the screenshots are of actual contestants (as it is a pilot after all plus that would mean 5 all female teams??), I can confirm Richard and Joey are there, also the older "slightly overweight" female team and the blonde girls. I think I have captured 8 to 8.5 teams from the promo!

Please look at the file names under each photo for names (if given) and decriptions noted from the video. (Peach please edit this if you wish to clean it all up!)

A couple more pics. A second screenshot of older female team, plus an unknown female close up shot (she was in a 4WD in her audition clip saying "I hate 4WDriving!"

I would say Renee or her partner is the tall blonde we have been seeing, since she stands a head over her teammate.

Renee is the tall blonde she said it in the video. I have ordered the names left to right as seen in file name.

Thanks Coutzy! It was an absolute fluke that I saw this survey with video, right place, right time! Could be Sydney in the final leg so you might have to make another trip  :lol:

Im still skeptical all the videos are of chosen contestants though. What do you think? 5 all female teams? No cowboys, no alpha-male team, no "overweight" male twins on promo. Also, 14 countries in the race?

At the start, I really really thought TAR Oz will just focus on Australia (like China Rush), but they went around the world. :lol:

Not necessarily, Seasons 3 (12), 5 (12), 6 (11), and 10 (13) had more than 10 countries

with 7, 9, 11, 12, and 17 having 10 and most others with at least 9

only seasons 2 and 13 had 8

so, i don't think it's THAT big of a stretch to have 14

we already have:
Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, China (Hong Kong), South Africa, and Israel

having a leg spread over 2 countries really helps the cause, so if we have a couple of those, it will become a whole lot more reasonable a figure

Calm down, guys. We go by evidence here, and this is not the place to debate how safe Israel may or may not be.

I'm not debating how safe it is, or using speculation to refute these rumours.

Quote
there are 200 nations in the world, but because it's impossible to go from Israel to an Arab nation - Israel can't be visited? Are you for real?
anyway teams are right now in Israel, and there will be a leg in Israel and it really doesn't matter what you think.

If you have an Israeli stamp in your passport, regardless of your country of origin, you will not be allowed to enter about twenty different Arabic countries, including a large proportion of countries likely to be visited at some point on TAR Australia or TAR Asia (yes, I'll grant you Saudi Arabia's not coming any time soon). But the same thing also works in reverse: you can't enter Israel with stamps from many Arabic countries in your passport -- including from Oman, which many ActiveTV personnel including this show's executive visited as part of TAR Asia 3.

In fact, that's the reason TAR Israel (also produced by the same company) began right at the airport -- the ActiveTV crew couldn't get into the country itself without ruining their chances of entering the other Arabic countries in future, so they minimised the amount of work the local crews would have to do without being overseen by Michael McKay. And all the pre-race preparations, deals, and final auditions were conducted in Dubai, which both the Australian and Israeli crews were easily able to get to. Given they wouldn't enter the country then, I don't think they'll be entering the country now.

Add in the "Whee, aren't we so great!" nature of the Israeli media (which is nearly as propagandic as the Chinese media), and I just can't buy the stories being true. Not least of all because we haven't been swamped with tweets from the sites mentioned in the reports.

The airport photo? There's certainly not enough in there to state without reservation that it's in Tel Aviv. It could be in any airport in the world.

I hope you get on Season 2, Coutzy! Maybe we can form an alliance in a future All-Stars season! :groan:

The airport photo is definitely Ben Gurion airport - there are matching photos in flickr that show the area where the photo was taken.
Once I get permission - I'll post the proof.

I want to thank everyone for the discussion of TAR Aus in Israel. We SO appreciate the time you all take to express different points of view here.

After the very deliberate recent attempts to mislead RFF with faux info on our locations (including a particularly nasty one using Masada), we are all looking hard at all info brought to us. But we are also exceedingly grateful to those who share info with us, so :thankyou: to E-K-ISR for hanging in here with us!

It is now looking rather certain that TAR Aus did indeed visit Israel, and I will be so eager to hear more about how they overcame the particular production concerns that tarflyonthewall pointed out! We have been waiting for a visit for a long time, so this is specially welcome!

Thanks everyone!

Blog comment posted 8:30pm yesterday (29 Nov 2010):

the amazing race were in freo today…i was taking shots of fremantle…and i happened to go up to the prison…
and there was red and yellow flags, and i immediately thought, OMG its the amazing race! there were parking bays set aside, with their cars in them…and filming crew everywhere…it was pretty cool…i saw the last two teams running out and into their cars.

Could this be real? It may be, but I haven't found any Twitter evidence they are back in Australia, and you would expect something in a big city like Perth.

They also went to Fremantle Prison in TAR9 too. Hope we can find some more evidence soon.
